Lexmark X75
Jack of all trades (501 words)by - written on 31/05/03
Rating:
upgrade our computer last month, we decided that we would get a new printer and scanner to go with it, to replace our brick of a scanner and somewhat smaller Lexmark Z12. We decided to buy from Dell.co.uk and chose the Lexmark X75, partly because we have a Lexmark Z12 and have had no problems with it and partly due to the price and partly because being an All-in-one saves space on the computer desk. The printer came with a black, and a colour cartridge and a USB cable as it is not possible to connect it via a parallel port. The unit looks a bit weird, like a normal jet printer, with a scanner stuck on the top, but it means that if you are short of space, it will ...

Rating:
Initial experience of this cheap and slow device is likely to be negative. Here is the bad news: the cartridges (one needs both colour and black) are expensive, about £20 each; the displayed message that a cartridge needs replacing should be ignored because it takes its data not from the cartridge but from counting sheets -- so, when the output is faulty, that is the time to swap the relevant cartridge for a new one, and not before; one is asked to perform an alignment test when a new cartridge is installed, and this takes getting used to; the online 'help' is poorly written; set-up may not work; to copy a single page of colour takes 3 minutes because the X73 has to ...

Rating:
s 6.8kg - Prints at 2400 X 1200 dpi (dots per inch) - Scans at 600 x 1200 dpi (dots per inch) Design The design of the Lexmark X73 is quite cool. It's nice and sleek and saves a great deal of space. It comes in white and has a great user interface on the top of the hardware that looks quite professional and well presented. On the user interface on the X73 hardware there are numerous buttons that allow for quick execution. There are two led lights, one to show the power and one to show the status of the printer, whether there?s a problem or not. There are 8 buttons, which are: 1. Set-up: to adjust settings 2. Scan: To scan an ...
