Advantages: Easy to use, versatile
Disadvantages: Ink Cartridges pricey
We bought this to replace our old and worn out Canon S200.
Simply took the printer out of the box remove packaging and installed the cartridges, connected to the PC powered up andwithin 5 minutes we were up and running.
This printer prints at 2400x1200 dpi giving photo quality prints although it can be a little slow when printing in colour.
The lexmark all in one software is extremely easy to use for copying, scanning etc. But it is also very helpful if you every need help with technical problems.
The printer only cost £50 with 2 packs of photo paper thrown in and so was extremely good value.
The biggest downside is the cost of replacement cartridges, the high capacity cartridgescost around £25 pounds each for black and colour. I have tried getting them refilled, but on 2 occassions have had to go back and change for new cartridges.
Overall this is a good printer, a good copier, a good flatbed scanner, not sure about Fax as never had cause to use it.

- 26/11/04 Hi... I think Lexmark are pretty crap really, however they can be a good solution to replacing ink cartridges..... Has anybody made money on ebay by selling inkless printers and replacing them with cheapos like this?

- 25/11/04 Ive just upgraded my clapped out office printer to a lexmark and the cartridge has so far done more copies than it should, but then it is heavy duty...

- 25/11/04 Nice review -- I just happen to have one of these on my desk and have been very impressed with it, the quality of the scans being particularly good.
