Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Ugly
This is the first laser printer I have had, and on balance I am pleased with it. There are a few drawbacks, though.
First, it is quite large and bulky. Although it is ostensibly a cuboid, the paper tray and power cable stick out about 2 inches at the back which makes it awkward to position on a desk or in a home office.
Second, it is ugly. It is a two-tone light and dark grey plastic affair which, while practical, is an eyesore.
Third, it can only print in black and white. Of course I was fully aware of that fact when I purchased it, since colour lasers are far more expensive, but it is nevertheless a sacrifice.
However, there are several positive points to note too:
(A) It is great value, and highly affordable - it is cheaper than many mid to high-end inkjets;
(B) It prints very quickly, averaging around 13 pages per minute on basic settings;
(C) The scanner is very high quality, and operates at eye-watering resolutions;
(D) The photocopy function is easy to use and efficient, and does not require a computer connection; and
(E) The paper tray has a pleasingly capacious 500 sheet capacity.
Overall, you get what you pay for in terms of design: if you are purely seeking function and value for money then you can't beat this model.
Summary: Not bad as an introduction to laser printing
