bruffyboy Streets of Rage: ... is it that we like about fighting games? Whatever it is, Streets of Rage did it for me. This game was a side scrolling fighting game where enemies would come onto the screen from the left and right, only for you to beat them to pieces. The game had eight levels. The storyline to this game was probably the worst thing about it, as it seemed unreal even then; three young cops battle a world gone bad was the simpl...

bruffyboy Sonic 2
... game was THE platform game to have when I was growing up. It built on the earlier Sonic game and improved on it ten-fold. Sonic is back with a friend, Tails, as they battle Dr Robotnik in a level by level battle to collect rings and crystals. What I loved about this game was the speed at which the gameplay took place; as Sonic did spins and blasts all over the place, rolling at super speed down slopes and flying through the air, I loved the intensity of it. It produced game-play that was almost too fast to follow at times, and that intensity was something I hadn t before seen in a computer game. The levels all have their own distinctive style, and it surprises me t...

Zantetsuken Resident Evil 2
... was the first Resident Evil game I played and in my personal opinion and this is why. It is several months after the mansion explosion in the first game and Umbrella have covered the whole thing and with all evidence destroyed things aren t looking good. The T-virus has spread throughout Raccoon City turning everyone into zombies and leaving the whole place in a mess. This game has 2 heroes just like the previous game. Leon Kennedy who is a cop new to the force after losing contact with his new boss he comes to the city and Claire Redfield who is the sister of Chris from the first game. The first thing you ll notice is the graphical changes in this game, gone are...

Revier Worms
... was created by Team 17 all the way back in 1994, the concept is a simple one, two teams of anarchic annelids blow seven bells of out of eachother with a host of powerful weapons. The aim of the game? Simply wipe your enemies worms off the face of the earth. Worms is in stark contrast to the last game I reviewed (Rome TW), Rome is a game that requires time and patience if anything is going to be got out of it. Worms however is the ultimate in pick up & play gaming. As the concept is so simple, you can happily wile 10-15 minute away without even thinking about it. Each team is made up of four worms, you can set whether they have little health (for a quick game)...
