joeytomtom Robocod: ... time it s off to Santa s Workshop in the North Pole, where your evil nemesis Dr. Maybe has been up to no good again. Maybe s dastardly plan is to kidnap all of Santa s workers, namely penguins (or elves, depending on which system you have) who are in dire need of rescuing. Not being one to leave them out in the cold, you don your new robotic suit and answering to your new codename "Robocod" you set off...

joeytomtom The Secret of Monkey Island
... Secret of Monkey Island was first released on the Commodore Amiga home computer in 1990. The game genre is commonly known as a "point and click" adventure, championed by the likes of Lucasarts and Sierra in the early days. The gameplay mechanics, though simple in theory, basically make the player explore scenarios and surroundings, involving the character (or characters) in the plotline which unfold in a narrative style. The player interacts with the world via an interface which contains verbal commands and an inventory system. Onscreen characters can be moved around the gameworld by a few simple clicks of the mouse, hence the "point and click" mon...

Released in 1991, (and ported to the amiga not long after) the original Sonic the Hedgehog looked nothing short of breathtaking, and it still looks nice today. The game is a side-scrolling platformer, but with a difference- unlike Mario Bros and its associated clones, Sonic relies heavily on speed, with the eponymous blue hedgehog racing through the levels at Speedy-Gonzalez speeds, traversing ramps, jumps and even loop-the-loops, whilst collecting as many rings as possible in the process....

benlepensive The Secret of Monkey Island
... Lucas arts are about to relaunch a new version of this classic game, using the same characters we wee introduced to nearly twenty years ago. Anyone who is familiar with the wonderful Monkey Island game on the Amiga (do they still make Amigas?!) will know just how pleasurable and nostalgic this game is. You take on the role of the rather dashing and handsome Guybrush Threepwood, one of those names which will always stay with you. Guybrush is a wannabe pirate, who is on a mission to solve the secret of Monkey Island. Quite what that secret was, I never found out, because I never got far enough in the game. I was pretty rubbish at computer games and anything ...
