... was the first Resident Evil game I played and in my personal opinion and this is why. It is several months after the mansion explosion in the first game and Umbrella have covered the whole thing and with all evidence destroyed things aren t looking good. Resident Evil 2 ... on from the huge success of the first Resident Evil game, Resident Evil 2 effectively offers the same experience all over again, only this time bigger, gorier and with much improved visuals. As before the game is played from an isometric perspective, with rendered 3D characters roaming through stationary, beautifully designed backdrops, the gameplay consisting of a mix of ultraviolent zombi-killing mayhem and cerebral real-world puzzles that must be completed to allow you to progress to the next part of the game. Operation Wolf (Amiga) ... have fond memories of playing the original Operation Wolf Coin Op arcade game, straining to see over the polished, black replica Uzi machinegun and spraying bullets at the screen with much glee. The amiga version is of course operated by either joystick or mouse instead however, and whilst this does reduce the enjoyment somewhat the game remains a classic early shooting gallery style blaster. You play the role of a commando in the middle of a huge gun battle, and must pick off enemies with your submachine gun before they have a chance to return fire, each shto that they get through ridding you of one of a handful of lives. Resident Evil 2 ... first Resident Evil is long-held to have influenced the Horror game genre since its inception in 1996, breeding the new Survival Horror sub-genre. Whilst it may the most influential and important of the series, it is its high-octane sequel, Resident Evil 2, that, in my opinion, is the best of the bunch. Combining the requisite scares with more action than you can shake a stick at, Resident Evil 2 may very well be the "Terminator 2" of video game sequels.
