ATR which was published under the Team 17 label was actually an unofficial sequel to Overdrive, and it was hyped as being the ultimate overhead racing game for the Amiga. If you had an Amiga you will know that there was quite a few good overhead racing games such as Micro Machines, Skid Marks, and Roadkill. ATR is actually short for All Terrain Racing, and the game features three different vehicles, The Formula Special, the 4x4 Jeep and the Hydra Buggy. The Buggy is an all-round vehicle, while the Jeep is best selected for use on rough terrain's and the Formula tends to works best on smooth surfaces. You can choose to buy any of these cars, but ...

Could this game BE any sweeter? The answer would be a big, fat, NO! All Terrain Racing (or ATR) for the Amiga is one of the greatest racing games of all time and for pure fun value and gameplay, it beats the living hell out of the majority of PSX, PS2, Dreamcast and N64 driving games (with a few obvious exceptions). The game itself is very much like Mario Kart with an isometric view. Weapons, boosts and detrimental pickups are available as you travel around the beautifully drawn tracks. Control is very similar to Micro Machines on the PSX, with left and right spinning your car around on it's axis and a button each to accelerate and brake. ...
