Computer and video games have been going for years now. If you look back 10 years ago at the SNES and compare it to the technology of next generation consoles, the difference is enormous. This is due to the fast advance of technology. In another 10 years, video games may have a whole new concept to them. Nintendo have been very creative exploring new possibilities successfully as they have integrated a touch screen, microphone and online play with loads more all into the handheld DS. Playstation have enhanced their games with Blue Ray discs and Microsoft has made the Xbox 360 even better to play with improved graphics, Handy accessories and the best online service - Xbox Live, which now has more options than ever.

Video games are great to play as they let you do things in a game that you can't really do in real life. You can go around firing guns at strangers, drive high performance race cars and save the world on a daily basis! This brings worry to society that children are playing video games and causing crime from what they have seen on them. Personally, I think this is rubbish and it's all down to the actual person. If they naturally have something wrong with them then they are more likely to cause crime anyway.

Online play brings a whole new dimension to gaming. You can test your skills in your favourite games against others around the world using excellent services such as Nintendo Wi-fi and Xbox Live. Online play has been stretched to the limits currently as you can download whole games and content online over the Xbox 360, which is a feature that you can benefit from with most other consoles.

There is a large variety of games to suit everyone and Nintendo have been extremely Innovative with their consoles and games, which I give them credit for. They have created a controller, which senses all movement and has a built in microphone for realistic sound effects. There are now games which keep you fit, educate you and train your brain! Who says video games are bad for you? I think Nintendo themselves have bought a whole new concept to gaming - games can actually be fun AND educational at the same time! No matter what, games will always be fun to play in free time to chill out.
