I cant imagine living in a world where there are no computer games, they have become a part of society now and help us relax, and they certainly can help you kill time too.

Computer gaming started suprisingly earlier than most think, in 1952 the first computer game was created, it was a tic tac toe game, and ever since then games have been evolving and becoming more advanced and also more accessable to the public.

Computer games help encourage problem solving skills, develop hand eye co ordination, and the new Nintendo Wii console even encourages exersize, so they arent all as bad as some people may think.

I have been hooked on games since I was a child, since I was bought my first Nintendo (NES), and got on to my first computer. I just love the fact that in some games you can live another life, or complete a challenge and just relax for an hour or two from time to time.

Some games that have been great over the years include:
The Mario Games, especially Yoshis Island for the SNES
Theme Park World
Tomb Raider (PS1)
The Sonic Games, especially Sonic Adventure
Tony Hawks Skateboarding games, especially Underground
Soul of Calibur, (the dreamcast edition was great aswell as the Xbox 360)
Halo
not to mention the classic computer games like
Solitaire, Hearts, Pinball etc.

I love to relax and put a good game on and have a real feeling of acheivement when I have completed some thing that is a bit of a challenge.

Ofcourse I dont think that we should over indulge in our love for games, as some people can be complete addicts and never switch their computers off to go outside, though every now and again I think that computer games are a great way to pass a few hours of the day.
