Diaspora is a true massively multiplayer online game with hundreds of players playing against each other. The community is welcoming to new players (except for the occasional rogue PK-er) and there's a good forum on the website where you can post questions, ideas and so on. Reports of 36 hour sessions are not unusual as players trade throughout the Diaspora universe, joining guilds and killing other ships to build up cash and reputation.
