Advantages: Great Graphics, Good value for money
Disadvantages: How many more shoot em up games r there??
Quake 3 - The third game in one of the biggest and baddest series has been given to us! The graphics for a start are fantastic, the game can run in very high resolutions! This making it great for massive battles or just blowing the hell out of something with a huge gun, the detail is just as good on the players. The muscles of people can be seen, and the guns start o fire you better decide if you are going to fight or run!! A good selection of weapons are available this time round, but there are still some of the old favs like the machine gun, the lovely double barraled shot-gun, the very high impact rocket launcher. New guns include a plasma cannon, electricity guns and other such toys!! The classic Quid Damage power-ups returns for Q3 with a new effect. Any player picking it up is surrounded by moving , flickering bolts of electricity and bright b;lue glow, as well as having super-powered full weapons for 30 seconds. A new power0up, the personal teleporter, is also very fun to use, allowing you to teleport to a random restart point by tapping a button. Great for getting out of a fire fight in an emergency, or simply for confusing other players! This time around Q3 arena is more of a sport game, it does not have a much storylines added to it, which showed as you kill (frag) a message appears to show your score, your position and where you are ranked. You are also shown who fragged you last so you send back some revenge! Well this is just some of the great game of Quake, you will have to buy it because it is just such a good game to pass down. Through playing it over the net or with mates, you are promaced a game that gives you something to work on each time, nothing will be the same next time around!!

aljones - 24/06/01 A good opinion, though lacks a bit of depth and the grammar leaves a bit to be desired, hence the rating. Alan |
