Also included in the game are a number of training missions which will allow you to get to grips with the game without killing all your operatives and are well worth spending a bit of time having a look round. Your team can equip itself with the cutting edge of military hardware, all of which behaves exactly as you would expect. There is a vast arsenal of weaponry in Rogue Spear. Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear: A worthy sequel (538 words)
by - written on 22/06/01
Rating:

Rogue spear is one of the latest offerings from Red Storm, Tom Clancy's software house, and is a sequel to the very popular Rainbow Six. Set in the near future, terrorism is on the rise and it is the job of you and your team to go in and persuade them with a few bursts of gunfire so that they may prefer to consider a new occupation. In Rogue Spear, You take control of an elite anti-terrorist squad in the not too distant future. The levels are extremely varied and challenging. During the course of your many missions you will find your team flung into various climates and terrains as well as onto (and into) planes, ships, chemical plants, military bases and ...  Read the complete review

On a knife edge (183 words)
by - written on 11/02/01
Rating:

This game is thrilling, action packed, and has a great storyline. The thing that picks this from the rest is the sheer amount of things that you can do. You can do anything form organise the mission, clothes, guns, right up until completing the mission. These are the plus point but there a bad points too. The thing that is annoying is that this could have well been brought out as a mission pack for Rainbow Six. Not much is changed from the original, the same layout etc. However, this comes with its advantages, people who have played the original can get straight into the game, and lets not forget the stunning graphics that come from this view. The level depth ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear: EXCELLENT!!!!! (220 words)
by - written on 07/02/01 (Useful, 31 readings)
Rating:

This game is just amazing. Once you start playing it your hooked. I'm not going to go into detail about the game or weapons itself or i'll be here all day. What I would like to say is that if you do have this game you just have to play in Online against other people. I would recommend that you use MSN game zone simply because you can see what everyones connection is like (if people have poor connection then they tend to warp in the game. Warping is when someone jumps around the game). I've had this game for a while now and only play it online. I'm not too keen on the offline version as its too hard and i don't have the patience. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Best for online gaming (167 words)
by - written on 30/09/00 (Very useful, 13 readings)
Rating:

I bought Rainbow Six for the sole purpose of playing it online, although it has been out for a while it is still my prefered choice for playing online as the team nature about it appeals to me. I can't say that the normal (off-line) game fills me with enjoying and as far as I am concerned it is better just to use that for practise than playing the game although after completing the game and playing countless hours online I don't need much practise. The game is so addictive and I'm sure other players of the game will agree, I've had it over a year now and I still play it online at least twice a week. You will probably get away with running this ...  Read the complete review

Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear: decent game (139 words)
by - written on 22/07/00
Rating:

So, just what is Rainbow Six? It's actually a pretty good game, albeit very hard and extremely frustrating. Some of the gameplay mechanics simply go straight against common sense, but some concessions had to be made to accommodate computer gameplay. Other elements are very realistic, and some of the gameplay elements are right on the money. Players who thought Spec Ops had lots of potential but didn't execute well should check out Rainbow Six because, despite the faults, the game does work better and does have that immersive, realistic feel. Players can even experiment with the game mechanics by looking at some of the definition files in the Rainbow Six ...  Read the complete review
