I enjoyed the first one of this series on the Playstation original ages ago and I really enjoyed it. So when in town and in Game Trader I stumbled across Resident Evil 2 for £3.99 I jumped at the chance for such a bargain if it turned out to be anything like the original. It comes in 2 discs one being for Leon missions the second one being for Claire missions. Unlike the original there is quite a bit of difference between the 2 story lines but both reveal really the same plots and shocks. It starts of with a big action scene of FMV as my more geek like friends would say (Full ... Read the complete review

Not in their wildest dreams would Capcom have envisaged the success that their low-budget horror game Resident Evil would recieve. Released in 1996, it was a hit to match the popularity of the mighty Street Fighter 2, and would spawn a number of spin off's and sequels in the coming years. The first sequel was always going to be the hardest though. By 1997, the developers were busy working on Resident Evil 2, with a hive of anticipation growing by the day as new screenshots were filtered to the press. But then the thing fans most feared happened - the project was scrapped. Back to the drawing board. Eventually, an all-new Resident Evil 2 would arrive ... Read the complete review

The first Resident Evil is long-held to have influenced the Horror game genre since its inception in 1996, breeding the new Survival Horror sub-genre. Whilst it may the most influential and important of the series, it is its high-octane sequel, Resident Evil 2, that, in my opinion, is the best of the bunch. Combining the requisite scares with more action than you can shake a stick at, Resident Evil 2 may very well be the "Terminator 2" of video game sequels. Most glaring about RE2 is the fact that not only are you able to play as two characters - Claire Redfield, brother of Chris, and Leon Kennedy, a wet-around-the-ears rookie cop - but the two ... Resident Evil II is the sequel to the original Resident Evil which was a very succesful game. The storyline from Resident Evil is continued in Resident evil II, in the original there was an outbreak of the T virus in a mansion house/Laboratory on the outskirts of Racoon city and S.T.A.R.S (Special Tactical And Rescue Squad) is sent in to clear up the area. In Resident Evil II Racoon City itself is the scene of the action, a new virus, the G Virus, has been unleashed and i has turned the inhabitants of the city into flesh eating zombies with bad complexions and you get to play as one of two characters, each with ther own plot, in an attempt to get out of the city ... Well.... I bought this game on Saturday, and it was finished by that evening. I was very dissapointed, because the game (while it lasted) was extremely good, right up there with the Zeldas and Half-Lifes if this world. The set-pieces were timed perfectly and were scarieer than any other game I have played. The storyline is film-quality, despite the cheesey voice acting. In fact, the game is similer to films in many ways. It is short, has a strong storyline, and lots of big guns. Its like watching a George Romero flick, but with you as the star character. The story pushes you to get further on in the game, as you can always sense that a twist is just around the corner. ... Read the complete review
