Advantages: Scary, good storyline.
Disadvantages: Short.
Is Resident Evil 2 better than Resident Evil? It all depends on how you look at the games, if you like a game with graphics Resident Evil 2 wins, if you would like a longer and harder game you Resident Evil is better. I say Resident Evil has the game-play and Resident Evil 2 has the looks. As the game-play that’s more important than graphics I would have to go with Resident Evil, but Resident Evil 2 is still a Brilliant game. Resident Evil 2 takes off from Resident Evil, the zombies have now broken out into Racoon city. You can take on the roll of Leon or Clair in the game (you can choose a character). Leon is a Rookie cop just arriving at the town to start his job and Clair is looking for her brother Chris Redfield (from the first game). Clair and Leon meet up in the City finding that everybody has turned into zombies; Clair and Leon haven’t got a clue of what’s going on. Once they get separated the survival horror begins, from then on you start shooting zombies (the game starts). The story continues from Resident Evil where Umbrella Corp developed the T-Virus, which caused living things to mutate into zombies. You find out much more about Umbrella. There have been many things that you haven’t known about, the story isn’t just about Clair and Leon it’s also about other people, some work for Umbrella others for the police. There are many plot twists, which will keep you griped for the entire game although the game is quite short. Every time you find out something major you have to keep playing. The game-play is more or less like the first Resident Evil except it is much easier, but the control system is the same. The same 2D background graphics apply, which are annoying but they look very good. In nearly every room you will find zombies or other creatures but it’s not as scary as Resident Evil. The most annoying part of the game is when you run out of ammo. The game is very exciting ins
tead of being scary. The game plays with your mind; you think did I see something out that window? Then you think nothing more of it, but a couple of minutes later something makes you jump that you don’t expect. The music helps the game by a great deal it either makes it more exciting or scarier. The game is still tense like the first one and it will keep you playing until the end. Also like the last Resident Evil there are many puzzles to solve, it’s not just shooting the hell out of zombies you know. To slow you down there is many locked doors so you have to find the appropriate key, you can get keys by solving puzzles or opening draws and sometimes on dead bodies. This all means you have to use your brain in the game and not just skill. From the start to the end Resident Evil 2 is a Brilliant game and once you complete it you start with the other character to find out more about the story with a longer ending. So my advice is buy this game it’s like watching a film (well sort of).
