Advantages: Great graphics
Disadvantages: Slow moving vehicles!
Genre: Racing
Console: Mega Drive
Creator: Sega
Road Rash 2 was the second instalment out of six road rash games. The main aim of the game is to race in illegal violent bike races. The graphics for road rash at the time were second to none as the smoothness part of the game was uncommon in many games at the time.
The physics element of road rash was very realistic e.g. driving up a hill and being able to throw your motorcycle far into the distance. This game was one of the first games to introduce traffic. I particularly used to hate the slow moving vehicles and used to run into the back of these.
The game itself was set in a 16bit format and could be played on the Amiga or Mega Drive at the time. You are also able to play as many characters and my favourite was Axel as he was a bad boy. The game did use female characters and not just male.
To sum this game up it was one of the first classic biking games and was just as good as the first road rash game.
GRAPHICS
Great graphics and the smoothness of the pixels at the time were the best around.
SOUND QUALITY
The sound was quite good for this console, the only problem the bike used to sound like a bee humming in the wind.
GAME CONTROLS
The game controls were quite easy to pick up although trying to stay on the bike was quite hard and ofter used to see the niker fly for miles in the dirt.
Great game!
Summary: Great game and one of the best biking games for the time
