First we had the adventures of James Pond under the sea. These days are hero can survive on land.

====The Story====

An evil professor has gone to the South Pole and kidnapped half he penguine population. Only one fish can save them - James Pond. Your job is to go around the ware house and save your friends - but watch out, if you don't succeed, penguins are very partial to a kipper for lunch!

====Game Play====

Absolute hours of fun here. There are so many levels to work through, that I've yet to find anyone who's completed the whole game.

Being a joystick game, the controls are very simple, up for jump, left, right and down to crouch. The fire button in this game isn't to throw anything, but to stretch James' body, so he can reach things up high or hang from the ceiling. There is a sliht Sonic influence in this game too. As if James runs down a hill, he'll build up speed in the same fashion as Sonic with the super fast legs and noises too.

This is only a one player game, so, if you're waiting for a turn, you may have to wait a few hours until the other person has finished.

As far as lives go, you start off with three, but that's quicklyboosted up to the maximum of four. You get five hits before you lose a life, but hits can be relenished by collecting stars. There are quite a few continues too.

There are some quirky ideas throughout the game, such as a sweet level, where you bounce on jellies and backgrounds make of chocolate with Penguin bars dotted around the place.

====Completing a Level====

To do this, you must find the penguins which will make the barbar's pole flash. Walk into this and be whisked off to the next stage. There are other ways of finishing the level, but this way will ensure you complete the game properly.

====Graphics====

Whilst their not breath taking, they pleasing on the eye -most of the time. Sometimes they are a bit bright - especially on the chocolate level.

There is a lot of detail to the backgrounds, and the baddies are very imaginative, and vary from playing card birds to liquorice allsorts ladies.

Most of the time the graphics move smoothy, aprt from when you've stretched Robocod to the max and he's coming back down to earth again.

In thebottom left hand corner of the screen, you can see how many lives you've got. Pond holds up fingers for how many you've got and holds discs as to how many hits you've got left till you lose a life. Every time you die, his facial expression will change and he'll only cheer up if you get more lives.

====Sound====

This was the annoying part for me. It's the same thing over and over and over again. There is a different tune for the end of level baddie though.

If you get hit by a baddie, then you sort of squeak.

====Secrets====

Don't worry, I'm not about to give anything major away! Just an idea to walk into walls and alike to see if there's a hidden room or prize lurking beyond your sight.

====Over All====

This is a good game, but it can be frustrating playing thesame levels over and over again. It can't be denied that this is a cute platform game that will probably appealy to adults as well as kids.

Thanks for reading
