I'ts hard to know where to begin with this, I will long be the person to say that Pro Evoloution Soccer 2008 is the best football game ever made on any system , and to find the best one before that you'd have to go back in time , a long way back. Forget the PSX , The Saturn, The Dreamcast, Snes, Megadrive etc. Nope you'd have to look to the trusty old Amiga 1200 to find it. Sensible World of Soccer was the best, the gameplay was superb, constantly fun to play , at just 3 minutes long each game was incredible, it was so quick yet so simple. The game played at breakneck pace was funnily enough great to control. The aftertouch on each shot was what made it so fun ... Read the complete review

It has certainly taken me some time, but I have finally decided to get round to writing a review on this game. (Rather than just playing it endlessly) This game first appeared on the Amiga years ago, and has since been ported everywhere. I still find that the trusty old PC handles it well though. It isn’t a very exciting game to look at, with the graphics being confined to a very basic overhead view and blocky looking players, but the beauty of this game is much deeper than it’s initial appearance. The main thing that separates this footy game from so many others is that along with the brilliant arcade footy simulation, you also get ... Read the complete review

Sensible World of Soccer (SWOS) was released in the early 1990's by Sensible software (Creaters of cannon fodder). It was the latest version of the Sensible soccer range, that at the time was classed as one of the top football titles available. Along with kick off and Dino Dini's Goal this game was one of the first to get rid of the ball glued to feet problem that most soccer games had. What this actually meant in terms of gameplay was that the ball wasnt stuck to your players feet thus meaning you had to slow down when turning etc, Making the game a bit more realistic. What made this game such a big leap from the earlier games such as kick ... Read the complete review

I got this game way back in the dark ages of 1996 and as of June 2001, it is still next to my desk in the pile of 20 or so of my regular play games. The first thing you will notice when loading the game up is how primitive (literally) the graphics are, which is understandable considering it is optimised for MsDos. However I urge you to look past the graphics and sample the addictiveness of the gameplay. As far as I'm concerned, all the latest footie games need you to press three or four buttons just to pass the ball, so you spend all of your time concentrating on the basics rather than enjoying the game. SWOS has a great interface. The arrow keys ... Read the complete review

Every new year brings with it a new version of the top two football games, FIFA and PES, along with all new wonderful graphics, new skills etc etc. They are both vying for the top spot as the best football game available. I have in the past tried various versions of eachof these games, and whilst there is no doubt that they are both decent football games, and have a decent level of depth to them etc etc, for me they always end up lcking that special something. The thing that has you playing them for hours and hours, with virtually infinite powers of "just one more game" addiction. Until such time that they manage to find that special something, they will ... Read the complete review
