Sonic 3 came out in the mid 1990's on the back of the huge success of the previous 2 main Sonic games (Sonic The Hedgehog and Sonic 2) and featured the main protagonist from the previous 2 games, Sonic (the titular character) who's an infamous blue hedgehog. He's joined by his two tailed fox friend Miles "Tails" Prower (Yes Miles Per-Hour...) and the returning antagonist Dr Robotnik (still known by such a name in Europe at the time, his name how ever was Dr Eggman in Japan, and America I think). A new additional to cast was a red Echinda (Knuckles) who plays a bit of a role as a baddie though it's more due to the lies fed to him by Robotnik than actually being ... Read the complete review

Sonic 3 is the game where Tails is in it, same as Sonic 2, Sonic 3 is got better graphics, better levels. Also it can be equipped with Sonic and Knuckles, so you can have Knuckles in it, with Sonic and Knuckles levels I think. This game is roughly about Sonic trying to defeat Dr Robotnic as usual, but does not have much luck, as there are sequels to this game, and also I’m not too sure that he can be defeated either. You can either be Sonic, Tails, or Sonic and Tails. If you have Sonic and Knuckles hooked with this game, then you can play as knuckles as well. That is yet another good thing about this game. Dropping the now-unnecessary ‘The Hedgehog’ from the title (a quick glance at the over-perspectived blue animal on the cover clearly shows that the game deals with some kind of mammal), Sega released a not-very-long-awaited successor to the not-very-long-awaited sequel to the original platform game Sonic the Hedgehog, the game that, while not being particularly revolutionary, spearheaded Sega into the home computer game market.
