Sonic 3 is the game where Tails is in it, same as Sonic 2, Sonic 3 is got better graphics, better levels. Also it can be equipped with Sonic and Knuckles, so you can have Knuckles in it, with Sonic and Knuckles levels I think.

This game is roughly about Sonic trying to defeat Dr Robotnic as usual, but does not have much luck, as there are sequels to this game, and also I’m not too sure that he can be defeated either. You can either be Sonic, Tails, or Sonic and Tails. If you have Sonic and Knuckles hooked with this game, then you can play as knuckles as well. That is yet another good thing about this game.

There are many fun levels that you can play in, and even more if you hook this game up with Sonic and Knuckles game too. You will have all of Sonic 3 levels, plus Sonic and Knuckles levels, which makes the ultimate Sonic game. The game can is 2 players, as you can do these mini levels, which are races in the multiplayer section, or you can play 1 player, with 2 people, which allows the second player to control Tails (this only works if you start the game as Sonic and Tails, this will not work if you just pick it to be either Sonic, Tails or Knuckles). Tails is not the main person though if you do this as a 2 player, Sonic is, if Sonic runs too fast for Tails, and Tails is out of the screen, you will see Tails just fly down from the top of the screen. In this Tails cannot die, only if used with Sonic and Tails, if just Tails on his own, then he can die, if not then it would be kind of a boring game.

This game has many different types of levels, like underwater levels, where if you are under water for so long, you will drown. Then there are grass type ones, which are roughly gentle ones, but very tough to take out. Then there is also a level which is a casino type one, which seams like an indoor carnival, which is really freaky and hard to complete. The bosses are hard also on each level, when you have to fight many forms of Dr Robotnic, but you will defeat him eventually.

Dr Robotnic is still up to his dirty tricks, wishing that Sonic would die. But as usual he fails, that’s why there is a sequel each time lol! In this game, there are very little levels, but they are all hardish. The further you get, the harder it is, like in all usual games. This game is about Sonic trying to get all of the 7 chaos emeralds so he can become Super Sonic, and defeat Dr Robotnic for good, but as usual he fails. You need to get all 7 chaos emeralds to get the perfect ending.

You can get the emeralds by completing special stages, which is this thing when you walk around like on this picnic mate with this balls, there are blue ones, which are the ones you are meant to collect, and there are red ones, which if you run into you will be thrown out of the special stage, and then there is yellow ones, which are only in some of the special stages, which make you bounce over a set of red balls. If you go around a set of blue balls in a certain way, they will turn into coins.

If you collect all the blue balls, you will get the chaos emerald, but if you get all the rings as well, you will get a, continue as well as the chaos emerald. The playability of the game is great, this is even more addictive then the first Sonic game, I played this for hours, and when you complete the game, you get level select which is cool. The graphics of the game has enhanced since the first Sonic game, it looks a bit smoother, and not as pixily.

The sound of the game is good, the music is good, and you can get midis and MP3's of them off the internet. The voices of the game are not in Japanese, they are in English, but you might have a choice to change it if you want to, which will be under options. The game has great value for money, it is worth like £5 now, so if you have a megadrive, and you find this game, grab it, and buy it as fast as you can.

I love this game, I use to play it all the time on the Sega Saturn, and when I and my brother had it on the Megadrive, and it was such a good game. I give this game 4 star, as it is very entertaining, but it cannot beat the regular Sonic game, but it has a good run at it though.
