When my Dad got his for Christmas that was the last he saw of it, because I became hooked. ====What Kind Of Game?==== I would say it's mainly a strategy game, and one that involves a lot of patients. iIt can be played either as a single or two player game. You have control of a group of people - settlers - and tell them what to build and where. It's controlled by the mouse. ====The Aim==== Very simply to defeat your opponents and take over their land! As soon as I got an Amiga myself I had to get this game (luckily it was quite cheap at the time too). The game was simple in it's idea, yet surprisingly complex in how it played. The basic idea was that you controlled a group of settlers, starting with a castle you had to expand your settlement until you controlled the whole map, or at least you had no enemies ... The Settlers is a game where you must build up a civilization. You do this by selecting an area in which to build your empire. You must choose carefully, you need resources such as stone, wood, fish, coal etc to be able to build effectively. Once you have chosen your area you will be in a race against other settlers to become the most powerful in the land. There are many different buildings you need to create in order for your empire to grow. Buildings such as forester. The forester goes hand in hand with the sawmill. These two buildings together provide you with planks of wood to build with. You get the idea. You must manage all your ... Read the complete review
