The Sims is a platform style game from the people who brought us Sim City and so on. Maxi Electronic Arts or EA are renowned for their simulation games, whether they do people cities or sports. The SIms can be picked up for less than a tenner nowadays although there are new expansion packs being brought out every year. I know of seven to date, but there is probably more: Livin It Up Hot Date House Party Bustin Out On Holiday Superstar Makin Magic All as addictive as the next!!! Obviously I don't always have such a high opinion of myself. However there are times when I have complete control over the lives of a group of people who live in a place called Simsville. These people are characters in the game called the Sims. I create them, tell them what to do, and give them things to make their lives happier. They meet other Sims, get married, have jobs, like spending time on computers (who doesn't) and have to do the basic things in life like eat, sleep and go to the bathroom to live and prosper. When I get bored, I just turn them off, and they lay there in Simsville in a state of Suspended Animation until their master ... Read the complete review

I had seen this game on the shelves at my local pc store many times and not been very interested in it at all. It seemed a bit like a tedious game where you would build buildings and get people to do all the boring things that you have to do yourself in your daily life. That was until a friend lent me a copy. She had just bought the expansion pack and said I could borrow her game for a while. Well I wasn't that interested even after she assured me I would be hooked. It sat on the shelf for about a week until one evening. The kids were in bed and there was as usual nothing on television. I decided to give it a go. Then at 3.30am I decided I ... The Sims had always been a favourite game of mine, so when I heard about a new add-on coming out that included pets I was very excited. I have known some of the other add-on’s to not bring to much to to the game in the way of variety, but this one is certainly not the case. Maxis the game’s maker have brought a totally new outlook to the sims and this time they are not only fun, but can bring a lot of mischief to the game too. Pets! Now you can have cute cats and dogs wrecking your house, digging up your garden, and leaving little presents on your kitchen floor. Honestly it’s not all bad it’s actually a lot of ... Have you ever had a problem with addiction? Are you unable to tear yourself away from your ciggies or booze? If so, do not go near The Sims. I repeat, do not go near it! I know it?s in nice, colourful packaging, and of course, it looks fun, but you?ll live to regret it. I promise you. Just step away from the box. That?s right. You don?t need it. I think it?s about time. It?s been needing said. This game should come with a warning, because it really can be just too addictive. The Sims has been around for long enough now that I?m sure we all know what it?s about, but in case you don?t, ... Read the complete review
