Advantages: Fun, Good idea, Addicting
Disadvantages: Takes time
This is a classic game that is available for Mac and PC. This is a review of the original version, although there are loads of expansion packs nowadays and The Sims 2.
The Sims is a game in which you build your own characters and house, before you control them into living their lives, getting a job and having some fun. It is a strange idea for a game, but works really well and is very addicting.
You can build your house with loads of tools. You can design absolutely everything from the walls to the floor and wallpaper. You can make your house huge and not afford to put anything in it, or keep it small and put some items in there. A standard house should have a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and eating area. Your Sims will have statistics that need to be kept as high as possible such as:
Hunger
Sleep
Room
Comfort
Hygiene
Hunger is obvious - you need to keep them pretty full up and they will be happy. They also need to sleep every night or they will be tired and not want to go to work/school and will find it hard to wake up having not had ample sleep. The room category shows how satisfied they are with the room they stand in. Certain items can boost this stat, by looking lovely. If they are comfortable, they may be resting on a comfortable chair or bed or even in the bath. This links to Hygiene. You must keep them clean by showering them, bathing them and all the rest.
All items can be bought with your money earned by working. You can make them search for jobs on the computer or in the newspaper. You can also get promoted when they go to work in a good mood, arrive on time (you must catch the pick-up car on time) and work well. You can improve their skills such as cooking, charisma and more using items at home, which can help with promotions.
It is a great game that involves working, earning money and spending it on great items to have a huge mansion in the end with happy Sims who are millionaires. You can even get married, invite friends round from the village, throw parties and loads more. The game is endless, and for around Ģ7.00 second hand at amazon.co.uk, the price isnīt bad at all.
Thanks for reading,
Carbon
Summary: A really good game that you can get into easily
