sentientphil Cambridge Audio A1: ... a budget amplifier you get oodles of clarity! its punchy, and delivers the most delicate of high frequencies too.... i have paired it up with an old pair of Kef Cresta 3 s and have used several diffent speakers and different cables.... the first lot of cable i tried was specially handmade gold in, silver out @ £600 per meter! and the current cable is cheapy £2 bell type wire, and to be honest, it made very littl...

monkey_daz Arcam Delta 290
... is possibly the greatest amplifer that Arcam ever made. Forget digital technology and plastic cases. This is an analogue behemoth with all-metal contstruction and solid black-anodised Aluminium front panel. I bought one of these second hand 10 years ago and I think it was about 13 years old then! Well, it s still going strong and if you re considering buying one of these there are only a few places you can buy it; eBay, a friend/relative or perhaps through private adverts in Hi-Fi shops/magazines. The price will be around £100 second hand even today. The sound quality is... perfect. It manages to maintain incredibly deep bass while providing the fullest treble det...

... you have found your way here because you ve already seen this and were thinking about buying one then don t hold back! I have had this amplifier for at least seven years and it still performs like the day I bought it. The sound quality is excellent.... and I do mean it! I have run a number of speaker configurations since buying this amp. The first was using 4 bookshelf speakers and a powered subwoofer. Second was to replace all the old speakers with a home made pair of Cerwin Vega s, with 12" drivers and I get get immense amounts of sound out of them. When they were first built I used to use the amplified sub at the same time but realised that the Vega s were re...

misfit2009 NAD C340
... have owned NAD equipment since i started getting into home hi-fi, and NAD have always been known for quality that far surpasses the cost of the item, and this amplifier is no exception. It s been mentioned that it looks a bit lacklustre, but who buys an amplifier to look at it? My system consists of a pair of kef q55 s. And a NAD 541 cd payer (does anyone remember them?) and i run my laptop through it for mp3 s, and my game computer for games and films. The system astounds me every time i use it, obviously for film and game use it lacks surround sound, whatever dolby are calling it this week, but i have no facility nor enough money for surround sound. All in all one o...
