... do not be fooled by the modest output rating. Trust me, it goes quite loud. After running in (make sure not to judge the sound your system makes straight away, they do need to we "worn in" a little"), and being connected to a decent pair of speakers, you can't go far wrong with an Amplifier like this. ... Cambridge Audio A300 ... equipment goes Phut, oh yes my old integrated stereo system went phut and then there was no music. Oh no, I hear you cry, what will a young man do without his stereo. Well simple, use it as an excuse to start buying separates. To the girls out there these are separate hi-fi components, rather than just an integrated unit that performs everything. I mainly listen to guitar based indie and alternative rock, but I also wanted a system that could double to provide music for parties, so I needed a system that can deliver a broad range of sounds as well as thumping bass. NAD C340 ... NAD C340 Integrated Amplifier is great. I am only quite new to the whole hi-fi separate scene. This is the first amplifier that I have bought. I was first drawn to it through What Hi*Fi. It won their product of the year 1999 and they continue to use it when testing speakers, CD players and other equipment. I have a quite a small room in college, but even with my speakers from an old system, I never have to move the volume to more than a quarter of the maximum. I have listened it at higher volumes but it is my speakers that are the weakest link. At all levels the quality of the music is amazing.
