Marantz PM 8000:
... Bought the PM 8000 a year ago... its a TOP amp with a ridiculous low price. In Class AB cheer power with Hi-End sound but... In Class A mode it?s an amp with even more detail, warm realistic sound and good soundstaging you would normally only expect at prices around 1500 ? 2000$ or above. It?s a poor man?s PM17! Technically: MonoBlock build up, HQ capcitors were you need them, everything in the source selecti... Read the full review: Marantz PM 8000 any good? by speaker_Guru |

Marantz PM 6010 ... This is my first none budget amp. It has 50WPC and a dual mono no frills design. Marantz OSE models only have the most basic facilities you need for a product to function. The idea behind this is extra facilities which are in the signal path such as tone controls and effect the sound quality. Also by saving some money by not including these items Marantz has been able to use components not normally found in amps this price. It might seem odd then that Marantz have decided to use a normal frame transformer rather than a more desired torodial one. However the transfromer found in this amp is still a very high quality one and is probably better than some of the cheaper ... Read the full review: In a league of its own by amazingtrade |

Marantz PM 4000 ... bought my Marantz PM4000 together with a tuner and a CD player about eighteen months ago, as a newcomer to the world of hi-fi separates. The unit was recommended as a best buy in its price category by "What Hi-fi?" magazine, so I took the word for it and bought one. I bought my separates from Richer Sounds, where I found the service to be friendly but rather slow. However Richer Sounds' main appeal is the price, and I would recommend them for this reason alone. I have little to compare this product with, but the build quality appears to be excellent, and the sound quality flatters any input source. I have a Marantz ST4000 tuner connected to thi... Marantz PM 4000 ... a great phono stage. The facia looks a bit busy with a lot of knobs and buttons but don?t let the looks but you off. The sound quality in my opinion is great for a budget amp. I often get audiophile sound quality from it with good quality recordings. It works very well with my Sony CDP-XE530 CD player. It also draws attention to the vocals but at the same time captures every detail in true Marantz fashion. You can here the ambience in the music which is rare for an amp at this price. In fact only ten years ago an amp this would have cost at least £500! Tonally it tends to play it on the exciting side of safe. In other words its an exciting amp when you want to be b...
