I have had this 10 watt Marshall amp for several years now, and i bought it off a friend who didn't use it for a bargain price of £35. It is certainly money well spent! This amp will be particularly good for learners, or people who just want to play in their own home without annoying the neighbours. It produces a clear, rich sound and is perfect for most genres of guitarist.
For its size of 10 watts, this amp certainly delivers in sound quality, and how loud it can go. But then again you do expect it to deliver seeing as it is a Marshall!
It has two settings (clean and distorted) and both of these setting can be altered slightly with the gain, treble etc.
Overall this is a brilliant little amp, and i would recommend it to anybody after a small amp for practicing, or for any learner out there.
PERFECT AMPLIFIER FOR A HOME USER!!
I bought the Marshall MG10 last year. As It was my first amp I was unsure of what amp to choose from so I read many reviews and decided I need a good model with good reviews so went for the Marshall MG10. I bought one from my local guitar shop for £50 so thought I was getting a bargain and it proved to be so...brilliant amp that I use even now.
The MG10 gives out a very clear 10 watt sound that is perfect for use at home as it isn't too loud. The clarity of the sound is the key feature as you will love the sound the amp gives off. Many of my friends have commented on the great sound that the amp gives off and are so impressed they are thinking of getting one too.
The Marshall amp is a very sturdy amp as it has good protection from the solid casing and can be moved around easily with the large handle. I don't think you will be giging with this amp but if you decide to take it out at least you know it will not get easily damaged.
*****EASE OF USE*****
The amp is very easy to use as it very user friendly with large controls on the front of the amp with no complicated controls. It is a a basic plug and play so you will be up and running in no time.
****IS IT WORTH IT?*****
Yes, well worth it if you are looking for a reliable 10 watt amp that has excellent clear sound. If you are looking for an amp that you can use at gigs then this is no use for you but if you are like me who only uses it for personal use then this is the amp for you.
This is a really great practice amp if you are just getting started playing the guitar, or looking for something that will let you practice without annoying your neighbours too much.
With only 10 Wats of power, it is not suitable for gigging but does deliver a nice rich, clear sound. Being a Marshall, you would expect decent sound quality and that is exactly what you get with this amp.
It has 2 channels, clean and over drive with a push button switch to alternate between the two (obviously a pedal would be more convenient for switching mid-song but there you go!).
The volume and tone controls are easy to use, accurate and satisfyingly sensitive.
This amp really is great value for money and despite its small Wattage, it can deliver a full and satisfying sound. I still use mine at home, despite the fact that i also have bigger more expensive amplifiers. Its resiliant, economical and most importantly a really good quality product. I can't recommend it highly enough!
