Advantages: Build quality, Clarity, Understated looks

Disadvantages: Hard to see volume indication on knob! , Not a perfect colour match with my NAD 521 cd, Neighbours dont like it ;-)

Classed as bottom of the NAD range, but to anyone with a discerning ear, and a limited budget for their first foray into 'real hi-fi', you'd be hard pressed to find better!

I have mine connected ( via profigold interconnects and gale flat speaker cable) to a NAD C521 cd deck, and a Denon TU260 Mk11. The system is played through Mission 702e floorstanding speakers, that are also used as AV fronts.

Overall it sounds great, even at low volumes when playing music for ambience, there is bass where it should be and well controlled treble, (not brash, as an all in one system). At higher volumes I think it over powers the Missions, but then that is at ear compromising volumes. ;-)

As M J Carrier said, understated looks, as all the money is rightly spent on the internals, which are very tidy. Looking through the top cover, all you see is a huge aluminium heatsink and the toroidal transformer, seems a shame to put a cd deck onto it ( I know I shouldn't, haven't got a proper rack yet)!

NAD builds hi-fi components to sound excellent and look very understated. A much better theory than looking excellent and having an understated sound!!!

I have had nothing but praise over the last 6 months of ownership for the sound now eminating from my missions, without the NAD components hiding away in the dark, it wouldn't sound half as good. ( I know this as they were connected to an all in one Aiwa ).......
