NAD C320
by theoffical
Over the years, I have owned a lot of amplifiers, and thats because I always want to try out something new, after all, that way, you know which product is the best. In general, people seem to think that amplier cost a lot of money, but this one only set me back just over £150, not much consdiering. The thing that I like about this amp, ... is that it makes any sized speakers seem like cinema speakers, much to the disapporval of my neighbours, and it gets to the point where I had to put this amp in the garage and sound proof it as it made so much noise. But at the end of the day, thats what it is supposed to do.
There is a lot of features included with this amp, and when I bought it, I got a cheap deal on some high class headphones. It addition to this, I find that the included remote control that you get is brilliant, and every you can do on the actual amp can be controlled from a distance, so you dont even need to touch the amp itself.
The box is quite small than the typical amp, and actually quite flat. I like that way as then you dont need to move anything around to find somewhere to put it. In conclusion, I think that this is well worth the money, especially at such a cheap price, and definitely is something that I will use for a long time. Read the complete review |

NAD C320

NAD have been making great hifi kit for decades, though you'd never guess to look at them. Most of their range comes housed in highly unimaginative grey boxes, and look like military equipment from the Cold War. It's what's inside that matters though, and here this amp doesn't disappoint.
At a cost of a mere £200, this is at ... the very bottom end of the NAD range, but it's still a benchmark for budget amps, continually winning awards from hifi magazines and audiophiles. You may notice a 'BEE' after the product code - this stands for Bjorn Erik Edvardsen, the hifi genius who helped to engineer NAD's pioneering range. His work is justifiably legendary - and you'll hear the effects in this box!
The sound it produces is just fantastic: clear, pure and balanced. You get terrific detail, so if you listen to classical and jazz, you won't be disappointed, while the soundstage is spacious enough to cope with any air guitar classic on the rock side. The technology in the box matches the amp to your speaker load, adding dynamic headroom to the sound, while soft clipping protects your speakers and ears from distortion.
Features:
* 2 x 50W Minimum Continuous Power into 4 / 8 ohms
* 110W, 160W, 210W, IHF Dynamic power into 8, 4 and 2 ohms, respectively
* PowerDrive? amplifier technology
* Headphones socket
* High Current Holmgren Toroidal Power Transformer
* Relay Input Switching
* 6 Line inputs
* All discrete circuitry
* Short signal path from input to output
* All sockets Gold Plated
* Bass and Treble controls with Tone Defeat switch
* Main-amp Input & Pre-amp Output
* NAD Soft Clipping
* IR Input & Output
* Full System Remote control including Stand-by/Off
* 12V Trigger Output
I've been using mine for years now and never had a problem with it, reliability wise. If you want to use an MP3 player with your stereo, though, you need to latest C325BEE model.

NAD C370

This amp is outstanding! I have had it hooked up to my Wharfedale P30 and the sound is just stunning. It has oodles of power to efforlessly drive your speakers without even breaking a sweat, but still retains a more softer, delicate side. So as its churning out the bass, the amp doesn't lose any of the musics detail. The treble is ... crisp while the bass remains tight and punchy!
Other advantages of this amp is that you can run 2 pairs of speakers from it. A real bonus if you are powering a pair of speakers in another room.
It is also bridgable, and when coupled with its little sister, the C270, the difference is jaw dropping!
This amp is excellent for the money. It might be a little dated now but is well worth a look. Read the complete review |
