Love it love it love it.....
Now the technical bit......With double the processing power, models and effects of competitive modeling amplifiers, the VYPYR dramatically redefines the power and scope of modern guitar amplification. They are based on powerful 32-bit, floating-point SHARC processors that enable detailed, precise modelling and vastly enhanced flexibility and features.
What you see is what you get basically, the entire six-model VYPYR Series features the easy-to-use Peavey WYSIWYG interface. The VYPYR also acts as its own computer audio interface, with a built-in studio-quality USB 2.0 output on most models that is recognized by computers as an audio device. You can use up to five effects simultaneously which is brilliant. Featuring 24 amp channel models both the clean and distorted channels of 12 popular amps for the first time anywhere as well as 11 editable preamp effects and 11 editable post-amp effects with dual-parameter control. When used with the foot controller, the possibilities further expand from 12 in-amp presets to 400 programmable presets, with an on-board looper and more.
This amp is definitely up there with some of the better models and I've heard a few. Its not the most expensive and not the cheapest but its worth it and you'll form a great relationship with it.
The amp is sturdy but rather heavy so I don't enjoy moving it around. If you want a foot pedal, get the Sanpera II.
The sound is full and it is loud. At four or five on the volume it is perfect for being mic'd in larger play situations.
For any power issues I would suggest getting a power conditioning.

Featuring 24 amp channel models--both the clean and distorted channels of 12 popular amps for the first time anywhere--plus 11 editable preamp "stomp box" effects and 11 editable post-amp "rack" effects with dual-parameter control. Players can use up to five effects simultaneously. When used with the optional Peavey Sanpera(tm) II foot controller, the possibilities further expand from 12 in-amp presets to 400 programmable presets, with an on-board looper and more.
This amp has a full tube section, 12AX7 preamp, 6L6 power section, and two twelve inch speakers that deliver plenty of headroom. It's more than loud enough with 120 watts of tube driven power behind it so is loud enough for gigs and practice, and it has enough modelling capbilities to suit anyone's needs. You can run two main effects at the same time, and have your amp modeling working as well. Even though everything is digital, it still performs very well. The pitch shifter was a little dissapointing, as it doesn't seem to have the proper customisation to sound spot on. This amp is extremely versatile, if you buy the pedal (recommended if you plan on playing Live) you can cycle through 4 presets on 3 different channels. So you can get 12 different sounds. This amp has very nice cleans, modelled after some Fender amps but it's distortion is the highlight. There are way too many features on this amp as I've said before, but everything is adjustable and it takes some tinkering but you can get a huge variety of sounds out of this thing.
Sound: Both of my guitars sound amazing through this amp. I play a lot of different things and I feel that I can dial in a tone close to each of these styles. The cleans are bright and loud, and they don't get very distorted when the volume is up but this amp's distortion is where it shines. Each model has a high gain and low gain setting. It can do it all. The speakers are pretty decent as well, they handle the power and deliver a very clear tone, even on heavy distortion. You can also pull a very nice natural tube distortion out of it as well, making it the most versatile amp I've ever seen.
Reliability & Durability: I treat my equipment like gold so I don't expect any problems with it.
Overall, this amp is perfect for everything I do. I would replace it in a heartbeat if I ever lost it. It performs great for band practice, and has plenty of power for gigs. I've been playing for about a year and a half now, this is my second amp. The Sanpera pedal is a must which bumps the price up but the pedal just makes the amp that much more versatile with a looper effect on it and the ability to cycle through all the presets just by stomping on a button and expression pedals.
