Advantages: digital, cordless, clear sound
Disadvantages: quite expensive
The diverse 3016 classic is a digital cordless telephone and answering machine. The phone is black and stands in the base/answering machine. With it being cordless you do not have to stand in one place, and you can move around whilst chatting. With it being a digital telephone, your calls are clear, so you do not get any crackling noises. There is no aerial either. With the phone you get one handset, but you can have up to 6 handsets on each base unit. We just have the one though as we have another phone upstairs. When you first get the phone, you have to charge it up for 16 hours. We did it over night. The phone is really easy to use too. To answer the phone, just press the green button and to end the call press the red button. If the telephone is on the base unit, you do not have to press the green button, as you can just pick it up and speak. There is a caller display, so you can see who is phoning you before you answer the phone. You have to tell your phone compnay that you want this setting up though. Your phone company do charge for this though. It is only £1 a month which is not a lot to pay really. We have it on our phone. Your phone automatically tells you how long you have been chatting on the phone for. You can store up to 10 people's telephone number on to the phone. It isn't many really but enought to add the main people that need to be added. If you are talking to someone on the phone, and you want someone to listen to what you are saying, like a friend who is with you, then just press int and number 8 and they will be able to hear both of your convesrations through the speaker. The answering machine comes with a pre-recorded message, but you can record your own message though if you want to. We have recorded our own message on ours. The message on your answering machine is "Sorry, there is nobody to take your call right now, so please leave your message afte
r the tone." To listen to your messages, you just press play and press delete to get rid of messages you no longer want on your answering machine. You know if you have a message, as the red dot on the base/answering machine will flash. On the base/answering machine are all the function buttons for the answering machine. These buttons are:- Skip back Play Skip forward Delete Stop Record Page Volume up Volume down Active signal There are 10 different tones to choose from for this phone, so you do have a few that you can choose and change it regularly if you want to. You do not have to be on BT to have this phone even though it is a BT phone. We are not on BT. We bought this phone from Studio cards and gifts catalogue about a year ago now. It cost us £119.99, but it is worth every penny. IT has probably come down in price now though. You can also buy it from the BT shop, Argos and Index. I would recommend this phone to anyone who is looking for a new telephone!!!
