Dove Antiperspirant Aerosol Go Fresh Grapefruit & Lemongrass
by clairelou88
I absolutely love the scent of this deodorant, it's so nice and really refreshing. I found as an anti-perspirant it lasted a lot longer than many other brand names out there which as a teacher who is always on the go is pretty useful! However I found it really annoying as whenever I sprayed it I would be covered in white flakes. I ... initially thought that it was a faulty can but then the next one that I purchased was the same, and the next. It was only when I took the time to actually read the directions it says to shake before use, usually I don't find these types of directions make much difference but it really did, as long as I remembered to shake the can I was flake free! So I was able to continue using this lovely smelling deodorant without the horrible white flakes ruining everything that they touched! Read the complete review |

Dove Maximum Protection 48 Hour Anti-Perspirant
by cirsty
I'm never loyal to a particular deodorant, I tend to flit between whatever is on sale and every month I do my cosmetics stop where I'll buy things like lotions, face wipes and deodorant. On average, I think I'll spend around £5 a month on deodorants, gravitating towards products that promise dryness and protection throughout the day but ... I couldn't find 'that' perfect deodorant. I'm a nurse and I spend my shifts running around the wards which almost guarantees wet patches so I tried applying more deodorant throughout the day which left white stains on my clothes that would only come out after washing them 2 or 3 times. Finding a good deodorant was really tough until I came across this deodorant.
Price:
around £5.30 from boots and super drug
Impression:
this product can be easily missed on the shelf. With all the other deodorants standing out with colourful bright packaging and sleek cans and roll on bottles I felt that I had to have a good look on the shelf. The product comes in a small box and inside is a basic cream deodorant stick that has a clicker to administer the product (dove recommends that 2 clicks should be enough). It comes in the neutral dove scent, cucumber and pomegranate and I find that all 3 scents are subtle and have that freshness that releases all day. Dove also recommends that the product should be used at night to allow the product to really sink into your skin so it can work at its best when your body is at its optimum temperature during the day which I was slightly nervous about, but I thought I'd give it a try!
Usage:
First of all the stick was very easy to use, 2 clicks suited me fine and I applied it to my underarms just before bed. The cream was spread evenly around my skin with minimum effort and didn't leave those annoying white marks on my top when I pulled it back on. I used this product for a few days when I was off work and around he house to try it out and I was pleasantly surprised to find that not a drop of perspiration survived on my underarms and they felt, quite frankly, fabulous! So the first few days went well so I figured the biggest challenge would be at work, so I stuck to the usual routine of applying at night and getting dressed in the morning without deodorant (so weird!) and headed my way into work on wad round day. I ran around all day after the doctors and patients feeling pretty flustered, and when I finally sat down with a cup of tea I could not believe that there wasn't even a hint of perspiration on my underarms. Absolutely nothing! No damp patch, not even heat! And I also noticed that I still smelled and felt as fresh as I did when I first applied it which as a complete bonus, and for the rest of the week I stuck to the routine (2 clicks and applying st night) and got the same results each day.
Conclusion:
I am very pleased with the outcome of this, at £5 odds for a stick deodorant I was skeptical as it seemed like a lot for just the one deodorant (I usually purchase 2 or 3 cans for the same price) but the stick has lasted more than a month and I've achieved the same results as the first use. Sweat patches was something I felt rather paranoid about, I don't have problems with excess sweating but when things get too much and I'm particularly busy it's very noticeable which I was wary of but since using this product it's something I can strike off my worry list.
I would highly recommend this to any hard working woman who would rather have wet patches and excess sweating as a thing of the past! There are 3 different scents to suit your style which are feminine and subtle, and the price is fantastic for such a high quality product. Read the complete review |

Revlon Charlie Pink Body Spray
by 12jane
~Charlie Pink by Revlon~
Charlie Pink is one of a range of perfumed body fragrances made by Revlon. It comes in a bright pink aerosol can, with a pink plastic lid. The can contains 75ml of spray, which is described as 'A juicy mix of red fruits, tangerine and vanilla'.
Charlie is a brand mainly used and marketed ... towards teenage girls, and is a youthful fragrance. I first tried it as a 13 year old and still use it, and I turn 20 tomorrow. It is a sweet, musky scent, which lasts for about 4-6 hours on my skin. I can smell fruits and berries, as well as the scent of fruit tree blossom. I usually reapply it after lunch, to continue smelling lovely all day.
As with all aerosols, the can should be held 15cm away from the skin when sprayed, and kept out of sunlight. The can is 5in in length, so fits easily in my handbag. The spray is depressed using a pump, which is a nice curved shape that is easy to depress. The pump element is plastic and is also bright pink.
I purchase my Charlie Pink from Morrisons, where it is often on sale for £1. It can also be found in Boots, Superdrug etc. I feel that this is a good price for a nice smelling spray, which lasts me a good month.
I feel that Charlie Pink can be used during the day and the evening. It smells great, is inexpensive, so I award 5/5 stars! Read the complete review |
