Sanex Dermo Invisible Anti-Perspirant Deoderant
by Elaineee
Mum stocked up on a load on deodorants, and she likes to send me off with something when I've visited. On this occasion it was a can of Sanex Anti-perspirant, I see in Tesco it costs £1.80 for 150ml and £2.50 for 250ml so not a particularly cheap one (compared to some anyway).
The tin is neat, not much bigger than a body ... spray. It's white with a pink removable lid, and is labelled 'Sanex dermo invisible, anti perspirant 24hr, 0% alcohol' it says it minimises white marks and keeps skin healthy. The back of the tin tells us that it has 'Dermo Active 3 Complex which offers 3 benefits- protection for 24hrs- moisturisation- Balance to allow your skin to breathe'. We're directed to only spray onto healthy skin, shake and spray 15cm from underarm.
It smells nice it's very floral, although strong when initially sprayed on it does die down but is still detectable for the duration. The anti perspirant has a good thick wide spray, so I only need to give myself one blast. I've been wearing it all week but have put some on now for this review. It seems to go on dry, I don't need to wait to get dressed. Feeling my underarms now though they do feel a bit greasy but it's not transferring to my clothes, perhaps that's the moisturisation aspect of it. It doesn't leave white marks and I can't see it on my skin, so it's invisibility claim seems to be true.
Being an anti perspirant it should keep you dry and I think it does, don't know about the 24hr protection but I haven't smelt of body odour all week so I suppose that claim could be true- although I haven't done anything strenuous and have not been hot or sweaty but for average control it's been successful.
There hasn't been any irritation whilst using Sanex, I don't think I have sensitive skin but some anti perspirants do irritate me and upto now this one has been fine.
Would I recommend?
Yes, but will give it 4 stars because it feels tacky for ages- well for the whole time of wearing really. It's not uncomfortable though and am only aware of it when I feel it with my fingers. Read the complete review |

Sure Crystal Clear Aqua Anti-Perspirant
by Missfisher92
I have always rated Sure deodorants as one of the best deodorants on the market, but I have also found them a little more expensive than some.
Why I wanted this product...
To be honest I had ran out of deodorants and I was shopping and just picked it up. It was on sale for £1 which I know is good for Sure ... deodorants.
Packaging....
When I bought this, it was in a different shape than the one pictured above, it's in a different shape that fits into your hand better and to be honest looks more feminine. It is a silver tin, with a lace effect on the from, the Sure tick and what the deodorant does. The button you press is much better the hole where is comes out of is out of the way of the button so you won't give yourself a burn! You don't really push the button in, you have to press hard the first time and when you push you have to push the button up as well.
What its supposed to do...
The deodorant is a anti perspirant that will keep you fresh for up to 48 hours.
It is dermatoligically tested too.
Alcohol free.
Long lasting protection.
My experience.....
I found the spray did not leave any white marks on my clothing, which is a great bonus. Also it has a flowey scent to it which is quite powdery. It is not an overpowering smell it's very subtle. I would say that the smell is very fresh. I applied this on the morning around 9 o clock and I found it kept me fresh all day, I did not sweat and it did not make me feel sticky and yucky. The scent does wear off but the protection certainly doesn't. I wouldn't say it keeps you fresh for 48 hours, although I did not get the chance to test it as I get a shower every night. Also, with some other deodorants I find that the more you sweat, the more you can smell a tinge of your sweat, but with this one I found the more you sweat, the more protection it gives you.
Sizes.... You can buy the tins in 150ml and 200ml forms
Availability....
I know you can buy this at supermarkets and online..
Price....
I bought mine on sale in Boyes for £1.30 but it does range anything up to £2.00 for a 150ml tin.
Advantages.....
No white marks.
Beautiful feminine scent.
Great protection all day.
I love the tin, it looks feminine.
Disadvantages...
I think the price puts me off a bit.
Would I recommend..

Palmolive Soft & Gentle Aromatherapy Anti-stress
by ryeb
Soft and Gentle Anti-Stress Aromatherapy Lavender and Patchouli antiperspirant deodorant first caught my eye as lavender is one of my favourite scents. You can find this quite easily in bath products and soaps but I haven't found a realistic smelling lavender deodorant as opposed to a body spray so easy to get hold of. I bought the spray ... first of all, but most recently I have been using the roll-on so this review covers both. I purchased the roll-on in Poundworld, where they also stock the spray, but not realising the last fact, I paid £2.25 for it in Superdrug. [ 250 ml.] You know where to look first now! The roll on costs around £1.75 for 50ml outside of the poundshops too.
AROMATHERAPY IN A BOTTLE
The anti-perspirant deodarant is part of an aromatherapy inspired range from Palmolive Soft & Gentle. The scent I chose is supposed to offer an "anti-stress" calming scent. I was a bit sceptical that this would prove to be relaxing for me because I didn't think the scent would be very strong, based on other Palmolive deodorants that I have used. If I couldn't smell it throughout the day, would it be still be able to work it's magic on me? I was therefore just as interested on how the deodorant would actually work as a standard product. Palmolive say that their product will work for up to 24 hours, which is more than enough for me. It isn't labelled as a product that will reduce white marks or improve your skins condition, but I mainly wanted a product that will prevent odour and wet marks so that was fine by me.
ROLL ON..
I like the spray version as the dispenser gives a generous but still gentle feeling spritz with a soft press. I do however prefer the roll on format because I think that the deodorant feels less "wet" when it goes on. I wouldn't call either fast drying, but I have been pleased that the deodorant doesn't feel sticky while it dries. This makes waiting to dress seem less of a pain. I wait about 15 minutes, which probably is a bit cautious but I want to avoid yellow/white marks on my clothes. I thankfully haven't noticed any when using the Soft and Gentle deodorants, so the wait is worth it. Apart from that, the deo feels nice enough on the skin. The roll on one doesn't catch or drag on my underarms, and it keeps working smoothly once you have used a fair bit up. I find some products dry out and develop "gunk" around the roller ball after a while which is a pain to scrape off. The other benefit of the roll-on is the fact the bottle is now contoured to make it easier to hold. I didn't really appreciate what a difference this makes until I had used it a few times with wet and slightly soapy hands! Not a make or break feature but still handy, if you will pardon the pun.
I like the scent of this but to me the patchouli isn't that evident. I can clearly smell the lavender, but I would in all honesty like it to be stronger. However, I suspect that the milder scent would probably find more favour with those that would find a stronger lavender aroma a bit old fashioned. Overall, the deodorant can be smelt throughout the day if my nose hovers close to my underarms but not much otherwise. I can live with that providing I can't smell any sweat, which brings me to..
DOES IT WORK?
Thankfully yes, as an deodorant at least. I have found this strong enough to offer protection from unwanted odour all day even when I have been doing heavy lifting etc outside. This is usually a good test although I am not what I would generally call a heavy sweater or should that be heavy perspirer? I first used the spray during the summer when we had a few warmer days at least and it still worked efficiently then. However as a anti perspirant I don't think it works as well because I have noticed damp patches on my clothes at the end of a day. When I work in my office job and I am not that active, I haven't noticed any problem. It is just when I have been more active, for example digging. This is the case with both the spray and roll on, with the last performing a bit better I think.
On the plus side, I do like the scent, and I have not suffered from any skin irritation. I don't have sensitive skin usually. I have found that the product doesn't feel too harsh/stinging on skin that has been recently shaved, which is a plus point although I do wait a little while after shaving before using it. You are advised not to use it on sore or broken skin, which is true of all similar products I find.
As to feeling less stressed while wearing this product, I can't say that I have noticed any difference at all. I like lavender a lot and the smell does remind me of summer days doing what I love - being out in the garden. So any whiff of it probably gives me happy thoughts and so makes me a little less stressed to some extent. But I am not really aware of the scent much throughout the day, unless I actually sniff at my armpits. I think I may get strange looks from my work colleagues if I stuck my nose under my arm everytime I feel a little frazzled!
WOULD I RECOMMEND THE DEODORANT?
If you mainly want an deodorant, and not an anti perspirant, and don't mind one that doesn't dry very fast, I would recommend this. The scent is nice and not overwhelming, and the product feels nice on the skin. I need one that is better at preventing damp patches, when I am being active. I don't think this would work well if you used it while exercising for example. For less energetic activities, it is probably good enough though as I don't have problems with it when I am office bound. As an anti stress solution, I woulddn't rate it highly, nice as the idea sounds. I have bought this deodorant more than once because for £1 it is good value for money and does keep me sweet smelling. Overall, I am not sticking to it exclusively though because I need something stronger in the anti perspirant stakes at times.
Available in the usual places such as Superdrug and the supermarkets - but check the poundshops first! Read the complete review |
