Mum Deodorant Roll On Fresh Pink
by hanmillie
I have in the past reviewed the Mum Cool Blue roll on deodorant and was suitably impressed with the quality and fragrance of the brand. However, upon entering my local Wilkinsons recently to re-stock I was slightly perturbed that my usual buy had sold out and I therefore had to choose whether to buy another brand of deodorant or simply ... switch to the Mum Fresh Pink scent instead. Now I have previously written that I am not really a floral deodorant kind of girl, preferring instead the cotton fresh fragrance but having been impressed with the Mum Cool Blue I bought the pink deodorant to see how it would fare.
Like the other Mum deodorants available this one is no different in packaging. The bottle is of a solid glass construction and is capped with a fuchsia pink screw top lid and bright pink label. The clear bottle allows you to view the deodorant inside which is white in colour and of a creamy consistency. When you smell the deodorant I have to say that it is quite floral in scent, however in my opinion over the day this smell becomes quite sweet in scent and is indeed very fresh rather than being heavy or musky.
This product is very easy to apply as with all roll on deodorants simply rub the ball over the underarm and allow the creamy liquid to rest on the skin. Although it does go on easily to the surface of the underarm I find that the ball will often stick which is easily prevented by simply using a bit of finger action. In addition, I do prefer to be liberally coated in the stuff so I generally apply a couple of coats before dressing. The beauty of a roll on is that you can simply roll on as little or as much as you need for the day, plus I have found that this deodorant dries particularly quickly and therefore does not leave white marks on my clothing.
I bought a bottle of this deodorant from Wilkinsons and it was, at the time, being sold with an extra 25% of deodorant in the bottle, that being the bottle was that little bit taller than normal. For this I paid £1.39 which I consider a bargain considering the longevity of the deodorant and the reliability of the brand. This deodorant can also be purchased in all good pharmacies and supermarket store for a similar price.
Having now used this deodorant for a couple of weeks, I have to admit that I love it as much as the blue version and can testify to it giving me a fresh scent all day, plus I have only used a fraction of the contents and can therefore see this deodorant lasting a good few months. This deodorant does not mask body odours as other brands seem to sometimes do but instead it prevents them from happening. Mum claim that this deodorant lasts for 24 hours at a time and I have not been able to testify to this as I always wash at the end of the day. However, I do spend a good 16 hours of the day on the go what with a full time job and a household to look after and this deodorant has not let me down yet.
The price of this product plus the fact that it does as good a job as any other more expensive product on the market means I will be scoring it five stars out of five and based on my comments above it comes highly recommended.

Mum Deodorant Roll On Cool Blue
by hanmillie
I am constantly on the search for an effective deodorant, not that I am particularly sweaty or active, but because I like to feel fresh and smell nice. I like to buy a deodorant that compliments my everyday perfume, rather than over powers it and it was thinking about this that I turned to a brand I haven't tried before, 'Mum' a couple ... of weeks ago. Consequently this is a brand that my own Mum swears by and that I often overlook due to the other variety of deodorants on offer and due to the fact that it has been around for as long as I can remember. Also and I hate to say it, I often associate the name of this brand with a slightly more senior age group such as my Mum.
The Product ~
Every bottle of Mum deodorant is identical in size and shape and the coloured label and lid are the only indications of the fragrance inside. The deodorant is roll on, and is packaged in a clear glass bottle with a blue screw top lid and contains 50ml of deodorant. The bottle itself is illustrated with a blue Mum sticker and promises up to 48 hours of protection.
There are a variety of fragrances available with 'Mum' however I chose the Cool Blue option. Being a girl that likes to smell cotton fresh I figured this product would be perfect.
Upon unscrewing the lid there is a small plastic ball applicator and it is possible to move this ball around to actually smell the deodorant. The deodorant is white in colour and of a medium consistency and smells very cottony and light in fragrance with a very clean scent that is very difficult to pinpoint to anything specific.
Where to Buy ~
A bottle of this deodorant can be bought from any supermarket or cosmetics store. They are always available in Boots and can be bought for £1.35. I however bought mine in Wilkinsons for a cool 79p. A bargain given the price of some of the other brands on the market which can retail upwards of £2.50.
Application ~
This product can be applied as any other roll on deodorant, simply unscrew the lid and roll the ball over the underarm area. The ball mechanism is my only criticism of this deodorant as it does tend to stick easily with a build up of product; however this is easily sorted by simply moving the ball with your finger. The product goes on well and gives a light application of deodorant to the intended area. The deodorant dries very quickly (within seconds) and there is therefore no chance of it getting onto clothing.
Results ~
This roll on deodorant leaves a light film of deodorant which in my experience lasts and lasts. I don't know about the 48 hour claim but mine does indeed last for a good day leaving a fresh fragrance and a dry finish on the skin which does not need a top up. This deodorant does not irritate the skin and can therefore be used straight after shaving the armpit area as it does not contain alcohol. The smell of this deodorant is not really noticeable during the day; however you feel clean and fresh due to the fact that you do not sweat with this product and therefore whilst there are no strong deodorant odours there are no sweaty ones either.
Overall this is a brilliant deodorant which I would definitely recommend and will continue to buy due to both it longevity and great price.
Thanks for taking the time to read my review.

Mum Deodorant Roll On Cool Blue
by cfinney
So far I am yet to find a deodorant I am 100% happy with so I like to try out something new from time to time. My most recent new product which I decided to buy and try was Mum Cool Blue Roll on Deodorant. I'd never heard of this roll on before so I had no idea what to expect. What attracted my eye most of all about this product was the ... price. I brought it from Bodyshop for just £1. Because of the cheap price I wasn't expecting it to be all that great. Truth be told, it wasn't. However it was still well worth £1.
The fragrance of this roll on is hard to describe, just a typical deodorant smell is the only way I can think to describe it. It is a pleasant smell however not very strong and really has no lasting effects on your skin.
This deodorant claims to give a ' shower fresh feeling that lasts all day'. I found, however, that I needed to reapply it every couple of hours, it certainly didn't last all day!
It did live up to its 'Anti-Sting formula' claim though and felt comfortable when applied after shaving. I did find that this deodorant felt a little wet when applied and so didn't feel like it was protecting me from sweat. Once it had dried on, however, I did find it kept me dry for a while before it needed to be reapplied again.
I wouldn't use this deodorant as my main deodorant but for £1 it makes a fine little back up/emergency product which is always useful to have on hand. Read the complete review |
