Secret in General
by Zelie There are certain things in life which no matter how cool you think you are cause you undeniable embarassment. Gesturing rudely at someone in traffic to discover it's your neighbour or someone that you know. Talking about someone and then noticing that they can hear what you are saying. Discovering that you are wearing your jumper ... inside out to work or that those shoes you grabbed that morning in a rush do not in fact match! There are many more which are even too embarassing to put into the public domain but we all have our secret examples. For many years from puberty to relatively recently (I wish I could say that is a short time but I would lie), I was embarassed by the fact that no matter how expensive the deodorant, come late afternoon I would know that it was starting to wear off. Underarm dryness was something which was the right of successful beautiful people and a curse which I would have to bear. Many a beloved jumper or shirt was cast off prior to its sell-by date due to those underarm rings which shouted "THIS PERSON SWEATS". Then I went to America on holidays and to stay with my environmentally conscious American sister-in-law. Her gasps of dismay at my aerosol deodorant (let's not talk about my love of red meat), led me to seeking out an alternative at her local hypermall. There I discovered "stick deodorant". And even better it actually worked. No more smell, no more wetness. Who says America isn't wonderful? So impressed was I with my new purchase I brought home a quantity (along with the Tylenol) which would last me for some time. Once my smuggled stash ran out I began the search for a similar product in my home town. I tried several stick deodorants and some awful cream deodorants before the Lord smiled benignly on me and led me to "Secret" Clear Dry Stick Deodorant. This Proctor & Gamble product has to be the best deodorant ever. It dries instantly on the skin, although be careful when pulling your jumper on immediately afterwards as it can leave a few white marks although these are easily rubbed off. But no more that feeling mid-afternoon that you need a shower. No more having to walk around with your arms clamped to your sides. There's a whole new world of dark coloured shirts out there that you can buy and actually wear with total disregard to heat and stress. It comes in various scents but there is really no discernible smell which is totally fine by me after all it's no smell which I am seeking! It seems to last for ages and you can use it right down to the last drop unlike some of the cream deodorants which I tried which crumbled half way through. The reason I think it is so good is because it contains aluminium zirconium so if you have an aversion of any kind to this or its related products this deodorant is not for you. The only drawback to the deodorant is that(and I don't even want to say this because it is so good) it can dry out your skin. But nothing that a good moisturising body cream won't cure. I pay between £1.99 and £2.59 for a 50ml size but sometimes some of the big chemists have buy 2 get 1 free. To tell you the truth I would pay whatever they ask. I even hide my supply in my bedroom so my kids can't find it. This product is fantastic and while it's "Secret" I think everyone should know. Read the complete review |

Secret Satin Dry Cream
by moniqued This past Saturday I was a Bridesmaid in a very good friends wedding. The dresses she picked were lovely, but the light blue color was sure to show any perspiration at all. Plus I knew I would be active dancing and a little nervous to do my role in the wedding correctly. That all adds up to a day when you need a great ... deodorant/antiperspirant. A couple weeks ago I picked up 3 different deodorants and decided to test them out. The three were Dove Invisible, Arrid Clear and the Secret Satin. I really didn't like the Arrid at all, didn't keep me dry, and was not totally clear, I would probably give it 1 or 1 1/2 stars at best. The Dove was a little better, but I still doubted the protection against sweat under pressure, maybe a 3 star product. Secret passed all my trials and I decided that was the one I was going to use, but how did it perform? After 6 hours in a light blue dress, dancing and socializing I was totally dry and still smelling very fresh and clean. The Secret Satin worked 100% and I am very impressed. If a deodorant can do it's job under these conditions I am very confident it will keep me looking and smelling good for everyday use as well. Read the complete review |

Secret Satin Dry Cream
by sandrabarber I must have tried every anti-perspirant deodorant going, and this one is far and away the best for me. I'm not particularly sweaty, you understand, just rather particular about what I want to daub under my arms every morning and how it should perform throughout the day. Having sensitive skin, I need a deodorant that ... doesn't sting. Secret has never caused me the slightest bit of irritation or soreness. Liking to look my best, I do not want a deodorant that leaves great big white powdery patches under my arms and on my clothes. Secret cream does neither. Rub it in well and it dries in seconds and leaves no tell-tale residue behind. As I'm very fond of my (expensive, hard-earned and saved up for) perfume, I do not want a deodorant which has an overpowering smell. Secret cream comes in 3 scents and now a new 'no scent' version (though I've only managed to get this one from Tesco so far). The scented ones are subtle and talcy, not at all offensive, and the smell soon settles and is barely noticeable. The no-scent one is even better, as your armpits smell of...absolutely nothing! Finally, I want a deodorant that does its job and will keep on doing so through a hard day at work and straight out in the evening. I don't want to have to carry deodorant around in my handbag. Last Friday I put on my Secret cream after my morning shower, spent 8 hours at work, drove straight up the motorway for a clubbing night out, drove back, got in at 4 am, slept on a mate's couch until 11 the next day and then drove home. Result: dry as a bone and fresh as a daisy after this very gruelling test. What more could I ask? To use: Turn the knob at the bottom of the tube twice to allow the right amount of deodorant to come through. Apply Secret cream with 2 or 3 strokes under each armpit and leave to dry for a few seconds before putting on clothes. Secret cream is available from most su permarkets and chemists at around £2.99, so it's more expensive than some, but for me it is well worth the money. And it does last a couple of months with 1 or 2 applications per day. Oh, and the no-scent version would be ideal for guys, too. Read the complete review |
