Not really a specific reason I purchased this product apart from the fact that it was on offer at Superdrug and I was looking for a cheap body spray at the time. So the way this differs from a spray like Right Guard antiperspirant is that it is focused more on the smell rather than preventing sweat. Don't get me wrong it can prevent sweat at the same time but smell is the reason people buy this. I use it as a second product with my right guard and they actually complement each other quite well.
The smell I can only describe as a spicy fresh smell. I am not sure where the ice dive name came from. It doesn't have that fresh ice smell and I can only imagine they just picked the name out of a hat. I guess it is possibly from the fact it is a deo spray, so used as a double up effect of smelling nice and having anti-perspirant qualities to keep you cool...ice cool, but then I can't explain the dive part.
In terms of when I would use this it is more of a day to day work fragrance. I would never use it on a night out. Not that there is anything wrong with it and I certainly wouldn't be embarrassed about it. It is just that I used to work at Chanel, so have a number of Chanel deodorant which smell on a much higher level compared to this. I have to use them sometime so save them for nights out and the special occasions. This excels at providing good value for money which is why I have it as day time wear.
In terms of price we are looking at just £1 which is very good value. It is a 150ml bottle and using a few sprays a day will ensure this still lasts a couple of months. That comes to just a few pounds a year so you can't argue with that for value.
Overall I can recommend this for someone looking for a good value body spray that simply gets the job done. For the price it is as you really cannot go wrong and although it won't set the world alight with the smell, I have to give it four stars due to its overall value and how often I use the products.
Adidas are well known for their sportswear and equipment but the company has now branched out into what it calls "body care products" too - that's fragrances, shampoos, gels and deodorants to me and you.
I tried the Ice Dive Deo Body Spray and have to say straight off that I quite liked it.
On their website Adidas make the following claims about this spray so I thought I'd test them one by one.
--- Fresh ozonic fragrance
It certainly smells great. This one is called 'Ice Dive' but there are other fragrances available. I like the smell of the sea and this is certainly full of iodine. There's some pleasant citrus aroma in there also. It's not overpowering but lingers gently on the body for hours after application.
--- 24h fresh boost
One squirt in the morning was enough to make me smell nicely until bedtime. That has to be a good thing.
--- Extra-cooling sensation
As with all deodorants, Adidas say that you should not apply this to broken or irritated skin. That's fair enough, mine was fine and it certainly did make me feel cooler for longer throughout the day, even when exercising. There was no irritation at all and it left no white marks on my clothes - I wore a black t-shirt specially to test this out.
--- Innovative and convenient cap free actuator
It comes in a standard metal 150 ml can but instead of a removable cap it has a kind of rubberised button built into the top of the can at a sloping angle meaning that you can easily locate it and aim it in the right direction however tired you are or whatever conditions you are in.
--- Developed with athletes
I'm certainly no athlete but I do get sweaty when I go for a run. This helped to keep me feeling cooler and dryer. Most deodorants do but this appeared better than most.
All in all I was impressed by this spray. It did what any deo body spray should and it smelled great. Best of all I got it from my local Asda for just £1 per can. At that price I'll certainly be going back for more.
