      .

I moreso bought this for to review but then again it may have been a great bargain find for myself. I think we can all be concious of trying to save money and I know that I have downgraded my brands over the years. Sometimes it hasn't worked well, but other things I am happy to buy a cheaper brand.

This is found where the other Deodrants are. This is on the bottom shelf of my local Asda and it is as if they are trying to hide it away kind of. It does stand out with the look of it though as it is just a plain white and green colouring so not a pretty pastel looking tin compared to the other brands. This cost me 89p for the 250ml tin and I bought this a few weeks ago.

When I opened the tin I couldn't smell anything at all. I gave the tin a good shake and squirted this out. It seemed to be pretty powdery when it came out and seemed to be not quite as fine a spray as the other brands I had used.

The scent of this is alright. It does smell clean and Fresh and if I were to sum this up then I would say it is a pretty Soapy scent with Florals mixed through. I can't say it is an overly nice scent and it does smell kinda cheap but then again it is a cheap product after all.

Did this keep me fresh and dry? Yes in a way but I noticed after a few hours that I did feel a bit damp under the arms so it definitely doesn't have the staying power of the more expensive brands.

Yes the tin looks cheap and it is a cheap priced product. It performed alright if you find that you don't sweat overly much but the scent just isn't for me. I have only used this a few times and may keep this in the cupboard of an emergency but I will not buy this again myself.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A great quality product at a fraction of the usual cost.

This review is for the roll-on version of the smartprice antiperspirant from Asda. 50mls is priced at 30p. The question for many is, is it any good?!

Well, I can give this product a resounding thumbs-up. I do need to add the following criteria though:

I am female - the fragrance of this is unisex (see below)
I have an average amount of sweat - it works
I prefer my antiperspirant to smell non-floral.

Okay so, the bottle is tacky, it looks awful on the bathroom shelf, so it's not really something to leave out (not to mention it yells 'cheapskate!'). I picked the label off!

It has an easy rollerball action which glides (I have used rollerballs that clog up overnight or never really work in the first place). The liquid dries quickly, has left very little residue of any note on clothing, and has a really pleasant smell which is very much like clean washing. I am quite taken with the smell, which I expected to be similar to cheap air fresheners; thank god it isn't or I would have binned it to be honest. It certainly isn't overpowering and would be mistaken for clean clothes (excellent).

I usually also use a spray antiperspirant, roll-ons aren't my first choice. Going back to using one I've been reminded that they really aren't any different to sprays, but without clogging the bathroom with choking fumes!

It really does work for me, although I am not in a job where I get mega-sweaty or someone who perspires a huge amount. I have to say it works as well as any other more expensive brand, and beats quite a few of them on fragrance.

Even if you aren't looking to save the pennies I would say try this one out. It might surprise you as much as it has done with me.

I also think that that it's one of those items to take on holiday, you can both use it, it's good to put in your luggage, and best of all you can leave there when you pack to come home, because at that price you can't go wrong.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Cheap product.

I usually only buy a branded deodorant but I am trying to buy and try lots of lower branded products to save some money and budget a little better than I have in previous years and this one is a deodorant I had not tried before and so I bought it to see if I liked it or not.

It comes in a large can and it is very basic looking and it the usual colours of Asda Smart Price range of cheaper product of green and white. It has a pull off top and a nozzle of a good size. It is a nice thin can and very easy to hold to spray when being used.

The deodorant for me does not have enough fragrance and although it does smell quite pleasant it is not one that I like very much when it is on my body. It smells quite fresh with a scent which is not feminine and I would say it is for both men and women, it does not last that long on my body. It is a sweet kind of smell and it does spray from the can very well onto my skin. I have been using it for around a week and I have found in that time it does not last that long but I am using the full can so not to waste money.

It does not dry quick enough for my liking as I like my deodorants to dry quicker because I am always in a rush at times and so really prefer one that dries in a much quicker time than this one has on my skin. Once dried it is fine and I have not had any rashes or irritated skin with this one. I have found it does not keep me as dry as I like a deodorant to work on my body and I have found I have had to keep topping it up a lot more often than my usual ones. I do not like to keep re applying it and I would rather pay the extra so that I do not have to keep doing it.

I bought it recently for only 24p for 100ml, which is very cheap for a deodorant but I do not think the quality is that good as I have found I am going through the can far much quicker than I would another brand and so it is not worth the money because some others are priced cheaply sometimes at around a £1 sometimes and they last far longer than this one.

I did find that this one did not leave marks on my clothing and so I am happy about that or I would not be still using it but I think the quality is not so good either with this deodorant because it does not have a lasting effect on my skin.

I think if you are on a really low budget then it would probably be suitable until your income has improved but otherwise I would not recommend it and I would certainly not buy it again as it is not one that I found suitable for my liking.

I rate it only 3 stars.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Brilliant for the price, but maybe switch up if you can afford it

At the minute I am trying to save all the pennies, and am trying out all sorts of brands for all sorts of products. I've recently tried the Asda smart price deodorant, which costs an amazing 41p for 200ml, compared to say £2.41 for 250ml of Sure deodorant.

I would say that for the price this deodorant really does well. The smell is just a general clean, almost soapy smell, nothing fancy or floral here, but we're expecting something fairly basic, right? I found it to be effective, in terms of anti-perspirant and anti-odour action, even on days when I was cycling to work (OK, so I reapplied when I was getting changed, but then I do that with any deodorant I use).

One downside to this is that it can almost be powdery on application. I found that sometimes when I sprayed it onto my underarms, it seemed to turn into a white powdery substance, some of which then fell to the floor. This didn't seem to alter its effectiveness, but just wasn't very pleasant. I did find that giving the bottle a really good shake before use reduced this problem.

I'm going to give this 4 stars out of 5. I think for being effective at that price it deserves 5, but the strange powdery problem was a little off-putting, and knocks off a star. I tend to usually buy one step up from this now, Asda's own brand, which is still only £1 for 250ml and currently on at 4 for £3, but has a more flowery scent and no odd powder, but would still buy the smartprice if I was looking to cut back.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

No need to buy expensive brands.

I've recently been trying to save as much money as humanly possible in these recent (And very tough!) times.
I was in Asda holiday shopping for toiletries as I visited Turkey around a month ago and decided to give this deodorant a go, as I'd never tried it and I was trying to cut costs.

I first applied it at my friends house before we left for the airport (as obviously aerosols etc aren't allowed on airplanes anymore!), and I didn't re-apply until we got to Turkey, and I must say, I barely broke a sweat!

I mean okay, traveling, and then arriving in a hot country, does go a little bit beyond this particular deodorant's means, but it did a damn good job in my opinion, I've yet to find a deodorant that can keep me smelling fresh as a daisy for two hours on a coach and four hours on a plane, this did a good job though.

When I was in Turkey (average of around 28 degrees celsius every day!) it kept me very fresh, applied as soon as I was dry out of the shower each evening, and it kept me dry all night!

Quick re-application in the morning before the sunbathing and I was fine, despite it being a hot country and obviously warmer than I'm used to.

Can't fault this deodorant really and I have no excuse to ever buy an expensive brand of it ever again!

            :)

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

A great, bargain priced anti-perspirant deodorant.

I have been trying to economise wherever possible recently and when I spotted this in the deodorant aisle at my local Asda store I decided that as it was so cheap I just had to give it a try and see if it was any good!

The bottle is a standard aerosol and is very simple in appearance with the standard green & white packaging which is instantly recognisable as belonging to the Asda Smartprice range. It has a white plastic lid and a press down aerosol to dispense the deodorant. I would strongly advise giving this a good shake before use to ensure that everything is mixed correctly inside the can and that you don't get sprayed with a coating of white deodorant flakes as can sometimes happen. The can contains 200ml of deodorant which would last me a good few weeks of twice daily use.

Because of the cheap price of this product I was not expecting it to have any great results at all and I was pleasantly surprised. When spraying the deodorant it gave a good burst of air and did not leave any white marks on my clothing (after I waited a moment or two) it does not smell quite as fresh as some other products available on the market and I did think that the scent would be more suited to the more mature woman as it was quite floral and a little musky. It was a pleasant smell though and not too chemical like.

I applied this in the morning before heading up to the town on the bus to carry out some shopping. When I returned home I still smelt nice and did not have any excess moisture under my arms or anything like that. I was surprised at how well this deodorant had performed both in the moisture and the scent stakes!

It is currently 41p for a 200ml can from Asda stores or asda.co.uk and I would not hesitate to purchase this again. It is a fantastic price for a product that worked really quite well for me. I would be willing to pay more for it if the scent was fresher but if you are looking for ways to save costs without noticing much of a difference then this is definitely a product for you.

I am rating this deodorant 4/5 and have been very satisfied with the results, my only complaint would be that the smell is not very fresh and a little too mature for my tastes. Nobody complimented (or complained) about any scent while I was wearing it so that was good enough for me.
