A girl who recently returned to work after being on maternity leave decided to start as an Avon rep so Avon books started to arrive at work in the kitchen area and I decided to have a look and order a few things. One of the purchases I made was of this Boho Chic body spray that was on offer for £1.50. I decided I needed a body spray to leave in my desk drawer at work as the office is constantly 27 degrees so it gets hot and quite stinky, especially when someone decides it is a good idea to bring in some curry based microwave lunch. Body sprays are generally good to have lying around anyway. It arrived promptly a few weeks later and I duly stuffed it in my drawer. A few weeks ago, I decided to give it a bit of a spray as I realised my cardigan had come out of the washing machine a little off-smelling (I think we had done that thing where if you do not instantly take your washed clothes out of the washing machine they can then dry smelling like old bath towels) as I had not noticed this until I got to work, I was very glad there was a body spray in my drawer! I sprayed the bright green coloured can quickly around on the outside of my clothes (it has a simple press down cap which dispenses the spray which is like a deodorant spray rather than a pefrume spray) and I quickly found this smells worse than my caridgan had done to start with. It smells just like HONEY. Very strong and very sickly. It is the sort of scent that catches at the back of your throat. It is honey that fades to honeysuckle with a bit of melon underneath. As there was nothing I could do about it and the smell lasted for a good half an hour, I just had to hope for the end of the day to come quickly then I could go home!! The can and the avon book do not give you any clues this is going to smell like melon and honey. The can is bright green with a dragonfly picture on it. I don't know- maybe dragonflies smell like honey. I suppose green could indicate melon (though the melon part ofthe scent is an undertone and not the primary smell as it is with Impulse New York- also one to AVOID). The can has the usual very very small printed warnings on the back of it- do not spray on broken skin, keep away from all sources of ignition, do not pierce or burn can, do not expose to temperatures above 50C etc. Keep out of reach of children etc all the usual common sense stuff. Overall- I am now going to abandon this spray in the toilets at work. It is very sickly smelling and I am a bit disappointed Avon think Boho Chic smells like sickly honey with a honeysuckle/ melon undertone. It could have been so much nicer. For £1.50 which is not that cheap for a body spray when compared with other body sprays on the market, I won't be buying this again.
I regularly buy a lot of Avon products, and in particular I am a fan of their fragranced body sprays and perfumes. One product that I bought recently was the 'Boho Chic' body spray and this cost me £1.50 from my local Avon Representative. The canister is a bright green colour and has a floral design on the front of the can. It has an aerosol nozzle at the top of the spray. The canister is 75ml in size, which is a similar size to other body spray products such as Impulse etc. I think that the scent of the spray is very pleasant and has a very floral fragrance. I think it is a very feminine smell and it stays on my skin for a reasonable amount of time after it has been sprayed on, which is good for me, as other similar products don't last so long after they have been applied. I prefer the Avon Boho Chic spray over other brands as I find the scent is more fragrant, and other brands scents are a little too subtle for my tastes. I like to wear body sprays instead of perfume products, and I find that the Boho Chic spray is strong enough to allow me to do this. I also think that the Avon Boho Chic spray would make a nice gift for mothers or girlfriends, so it is worth keeping that in mind seeing as Christmas is on the way! I paid £1.50 for the Avon spray, but this was a special offer in a recent brochure, and the usual price costs £3.50, which I thought was a bit on the expensive side! I can't honestly say that I like the spray so much that I think I would pay this price for it! I think I would recommend the Boho Chic spray as the fragrance is so pleasant and I really enjoy using the spray.
Any regular readers of my reviews will be aware by now that I work part time as an Avon representative, when my poor health allows. This means that I have great access to any new products and ranges that are available from Avon, as well as having access to many of the brilliant offers that are regularly provided by Avon. One such great offer that came to my attention in a recent brochure was on a new range of fragranced body sprays that had been launched. I could see that there were three sprays in the range, and each was a fairly average 75ml in size. Most other similar body sprays that I have bought in the past are of a similar size. Each of the body sprays was on offer on this occasion for the sum of £1.50 which I did think was a reasonable price, especially when I noticed that the normal price for the products would be £3.50. In case it is of relevance, this offer was available in campaign number 14, so by now I have a few months experience of using this body spray. As I explained, there are three sprays in the new range. These are "Sexy Chic" which is provided in a red/pink can, "Boho Chic" which has green coloured packaging, and lastly "Glow Chic" which has been produced in a yellow/gold can. The spray that I decided to try was the Boho Chic spray. When it arrived from Avon, I was a bit disappointed in the packaging if I am being honest. I did think that the overall look of the product was a bit 'cheap and nasty' and my initial impression was that this product was aimed at a bit of a younger market... teenagers perhaps? That said, I was happy to give the product a try and see what kind of scent it offered. For the first couple of times that I used the product, I sprayed it onto my body after using my (roll-on) deodorant. This was usually done after my bath/shower in the morning. First of all, it struck me that this was far too early in the day for using this scent as it was so strong. I subsequently abandoned using this product so early on in the day as it was just far too heavy and I found it to be quite over-powering. This meant that I didn't find this particular spray was as versatile as other offerings I have used in the past, such as a few sprays from the 'Impulse' range, as well as alternative sprays from Avon. This immediately makes the product much less appealing for me personally as I don't like to feel 'dictated' to about such things, much preferring instead to use a product that can be used for any occasion, or that can be used either in the daytime or at night. Refusing to give up easily, however, I stuck to using the Avon Boho spray a bit later in the day to see if it would prove to be a winner. Unfortunately, I just couldn't see by the over-powering smell and I feel I must warn other Dooyoo consumers off from buying this particular spray. The scent can only be described as sickly. A hint of something very floral lies underneath a sweet, syrupy scent which when combined provides an overall scent that I can't quite decide would be better suited to my grandmother or a young teenager. Either way, it's definitely not for me and I can't recommend enough that you avoid this spray like the plague. You know the way that some scents catch your throat and make you cough? Well this spray falls into that rather unfortunate category. The overall scent really reminds me of a scented air freshener spray I use regularly and I personally don't particularly enjoy smelling like somebody's bathroom! The overly-floral tones and sickly 'afterthought' that are obvious characteristics to this particular spray make it very off-putting for my own particular tastes. This is a bit of a shame because it is not difficult to see that the product itself is of a fairly high quality. The scent - regardless of whether I like it or not - lingers nicely on the skin for quite some time after spraying, which is a trait that all good fragranced body sprays SHOULD have in my humble opinion, but of course many do not. Furthermore, the body spray causes me no irritation in respect of my sensitive skin or my eczema whereas some other products do, so I do feel that this is worth noting if your skin is of a more sensitive disposition! I cannot recommend this product at all. Both the packaging and the scented spray itself give a very 'cheap' feel to the product overall, and for that reason I can only award it one Dooyoo star... And that's being generous! If you wish to try the product for yourself (you have been warned) you can order it in the usual way from your local Avon representative, where the normal price is £3.50. Alternatively, you can order the product online from www.avonshop.co.uk.
