As an active member of reviewing sites, I often read reviews of products which I had never heard of let alone considered buying. One of those products was a branded spritzer can of water used to keep cool in the warmer months. The reviewer made the product sound so fantastic that I looked around for it but could not find it. One day I was in Poundland and a mouthy teenage girl was shouting to her friends about finding the can of water she needed to cool her down. I waited till her and her delinquent chums had left the beauty aisle and then pounced on the can of cooling mist. The can of cooling mist contains 150ml of de-ionised water along with stuff to propel it out of the can. De-ionised water is simply water which has been through a purification process to remove all the minerals and make it pure. The can is around the same size as a deodorant can and the water comes out as a fine mist. The can instructs me to keep the can upright and spray the mist around 12 inches from my face. I find that I need to use the spray a bit closer otherwise the mist is just too fine. It's a very fine line between spraying so little water it does nothing at all and spraying so much that it is dripping down your face. The first time I used the mist was one of the hottest days of the year. I was sweaty and uncomfortable after my shopping trip so when I got to the car I sat down, sprayed the water onto my face and waited for some relief. I was disappointed as my face was hit by a spray of tepid to lukewarm water which never had any kind of cooling effect at all. I have since used the spray when the temperature has been a bit lower and the spray has been cooler but never an icy blast. I had the idea of putting the can in the fridge which my daughter described as a genius thought and obviously the spray is nice and cold then. If you put the spray into the fridge overnight then stuck it into your handbag to take out for the day then it would stay nice and cool for several hours. Overall, I can't say I'm too impressed by the cooling spray. It's a nice idea but I find a fine mist of water on my face only helps minimally to cool me down. I much prefer things like running my hands and wrists under cold water or even using a small hand held fan.
In the past few weeks, Britain seems to have been blessed with high temperatures in the high twenties. As this is quite the rare occasion here, I never seem to be prepared for the sudden heat. After coping with numerous commutes to work and back on busy buses and trains (not to add the fact our air con at work has broke), I decided to have a look for a cooling spray to pop into my handbag. After hearing lots about the famous Magicool spray, I went to a shop to pick some up. I could not believe the price they were charging for it (£4.99). As I thought this was the only cooling spray out there, I gave up all hope. Until I popped into Bodycare where I spotted this Beauty Formulas cooling mist. And for only 99p I had to just try it out. For a fifth of the price, this is much better value for money and also means that you can repurchase it often without spending too much. I ended up buying one for every handbag I use. Note: If you do not have a local Bodycare, this is stocked on Amazon for a little bit more. The product comes in a can very similar to a deodorant. You get a generous 150ml worth in the can, and this does tend to last quite a while. Just simply shake the can and then apply to the face and body. It is recommended that you hold this around 30cm away from the skin to get the best results. I was a bit nervous to test this out on my face, as I was worried it would spray out quick and harshly to the skin. However, this comes out as a fine mist which is great as it is not a shock to the skin. You can use as little or as much as you need of this. It is not messy and does not go everywhere, so it is useful for those people who are on the go. As this is a cooling mist, its only sole purpose is to cool down your skin and leave you feeling more refreshed. I don't take well to heat, and I get uncomfortable very easily in hot weather. This mist has been a dream for me throughout these past few weeks. As soon as it hits the skin, it provides instant coolness. It lasts a good while too which is great. It is not at all sticky or greasy, and it dries within seconds so it is invisible on the skin. I was really happy with how well this cooling spray works, and I can not understand why people would pay 5x this price when this works just as well. When should you use this? I carry mine around with me for all suits of uses. If I get too hot at work, I will pop to my locker and spray a bit of this. It is useful when commuting on public transport or by car when it gets too hot. I have found it useful at night when it is too hot to get to sleep. All sorts of situations would benefit with this spray. I have recommended this to many friends who have said they will grab some for their holidays. I am going to take one with me on holiday, as it will be so useful on those unbearable days. Just a quick note for anyone who is interested in using this. The product is manufactured in the UK. It is suitable for all skin types. There is no scent to this cooling mist. Ingredients are as follows: De-ionised Aqua (water), 2-Bromo-2-Nitro Propane-1, 3 Diol. Overall, I really can not recommend this cooling mist enough. I am so glad I found this one, and at such a bargain price too! It comes in so handy when you just can't take the heat, and it gives a great cooling to the skin instantly. It is safe to use on kids, especially when playing out on hot days as it can hydrate their skin. Five out of five for this, I could not fault it! Thanks for reading.
Running out of things to try on the market cos I'm a shopoholic of mega proportions the other day I spotted this product in Boots. It was a boiling hot day and I was freshed face but sweaty and going on a long car drive for a cup of tea by the sea (I live in Weston Super Mare but was going Devon!). Anyway me and my flatmate/best mate popped into a Boots to get some drinks for the journey and so I spotted this and decided it sounded like a good product under the circumstances to try out! The Packaging: White cylinder can with what appears to be some light blue sea depicted on it to me and an aerosol push button to the top of it with a light blue plastic push over the top of that cap which pulls off with just as much ease. On the front of the can I am told that it is Beauty Formula's Face & Body Cooling Mist 'Cools soothes refreshes & hydrates the skin' and that it is a 150ml in size. On the back of the can other information includes telling me a bit about the product and how to use it, cautions are listed and contact details for the company are given. It's a nice enough, informative can and easy to use etc. A Bit About The Product According To The Information Given On The Back Of The Can: A revitalising cooling mist for the face and the body. Instantly stimulates your skin leaving it cool and invigorated. Use regularly at any time summer or winter to moisturise and refresh your skin. Suitable for all sin types. Using It: Well all you do to use this is to spray it at about 12 inches away from the skin. It sprays out fast and evenly with no drips at all and doesn't hurt the skin at all as it sprays. It sprays out as a mist and not soaking and it dries within a few seconds. It certainly does invigorate. It comes out cold as it is out of a can and really cools the skin immediately on touch. I use this now regularly on my face and neck areas for a quick burst of freshness and coolness and although the effect is only temporary it works! It leaves the skin feeling lightly hydrated though not greasy, just in decent condition. I have used this lightly over my make up (waterproof of course) and nothing has budged at all. Whilst researching about this product before doing this review this comes highly recommended for women who are in labour and things like that...and I can can see why. It's done my no harm at all and hasn't cause any adverse skin effects. A nice, handy product this is and I wouldn't hesitate in recommended this to men and women alike! Available in all good chemists and supermarkets etc costing about £1.39 a can.
