Usually I stick to roll on deodorants, but after rushing out of the house to work in a hurry, I realised I'd forgotten to put any on . As I work in a hot environment close to bakery ovens, I couldn't very well go through the day without any - luckily there is a Boots very near to where I work, and I dashed in and out, picking up this, at just 99p for a 250ml spray.
I opted for the sensitive version, and dashing into the loo's at work, sprayed some quickly before getting down to the task at hand. I can't say the scent was particularly impressive. It wasn't particularly floral or fruity, just a rather clean, quite 'dry' smell, one I think could be quite unisex . The fumes from it did leave a horrid taste in my mouth, reminding me of why I normally prefer roll on - no fumes flying about.
The tin (which was quite slimline and easy to grip comfortably) promised that this offered long lasting protection against wetness and odour - and it certainly seemed to deliver . After a long shift, my armpits were still very dry, and there was not a whiff of body odour. I did notice when changing out of my work uniform that my armpits seemed quite powdery, and that the skin itself seemed quite dry .
Personally, I don't think I would buy this again - it certainly worked, and at 99p was not at all expensive, but I just don't like spray deodorants - I don't like tasting it in my mouth, or the powdery feel it gives to my skin . If you do prefer to use spray products though, I imagine you could do a lot worse than this .
Three stars - it did the job, I just don't like it .
Boots 24 hour Sensitive Anti-perspirant.
I often like to have a look around in Boots to see if they have any bargains, or things on offer that would save me money, as I have a Boots card and any items that I do purchase do add and earn me points.
I spotted this deodorant and as I have slightly sensitive skin I did think that this would be a good buy whilst earning a few more points too.
It comes in a metal can so this can be recycled, and does have a spray at the top that you press down.
There is no cover ontop of the lid so be careful where you leave this especially if you have little fingers, like my grandchildren have.
I tend to put any sprays and things that spray up high anyway so thats not a problem for me.
The can is just a basic one and says Boots Sensitive on the front of this can.
It sprays out well and did not leave those awful white marks on my clothing that some deodorants do.
The smell was pleasant enough not overpowering, and I was wondering that doing an ten hour shift if it would work, and actually it does, i dont sweat much but as I was working cooking food I do get a little bit hor but it seemed to hold out well.
Although not a great smelling deodorant, it did smell of slightly flowers and you can also get an unscented one in their range if you dont like to have perfum on your skin, this certainly did the job for me and I will be buying this again, it cost me £1.60pence, and its quite a large can so im quite happy with that.
I do like this deodorant, and think that it will last me quite a while too.
Thanks for reading and rating my reviews.:)
I got this on special offer in Boots for £1, and i must say that i was very impressed with it considering that its an own brand product. The one i got was for sensitive skin and was lightly fragranced. It also comes in a few other fragrances but i found this one my favourite out of them. I ended up running out of deodorant last minute and had to run into Boots, but only had about £1.30 in points and this was the only deodorant i could afford!
It is a very large size compared to other deodorants and is a bit awkward to carry about in a handbag as it only comes in one size. Also it doesnt have a lid which always makes you worry that its going to spray all over your bag but i suppose that isnt really the reason we buy deodorant!
Im always looking to find a spray that will actually live up to its claims of preventing wetness and odour but i find that most of them, especially the big brand names, tend to fall way short of expectations. But using this has made me more likely to try unknown names and own brand products since it doesnt really matter what the can looks like, its what it does that matters.
Now, im not saying that this is totally honest when it says on the tin that it gives 24 hour protection as it doesnt. BUT.......it does give me more protection that other sprays that i have tried over the years. Unlike some sprays, this doesnt do that annoying flaky thing that sometimes happens if you spray it more than one. It does do it if you constantly spray it, but not if you just do it once or twice. It also has a wide spray range which i was really pleased about as it means you feel that your whole underarm is getting the same coverage and you dont need to move the can about too much. It didnt feel too heavy on my skin, to be honest i forgot i had it on because my underarms didnt feel all dry and that talcum feel and also because the smell isnt very strong. I normally prefer then to have a stronger smell, but i dont really mind since it does the more important job of keeping me dry. I found that about 5 hours until i felt i had to spray a bit more....but since with other sprays i usually have to reapply well before this it is a great improvement. It says on the tin that it has a body responsive technology in it, but i have heard claims like this before that havent worked but maybe it actually does in this product.
The price of this has now went up to £1.60, but i would still pay that for it as that what i normally pay for a can smaller than that that doesnt even do as good a job. It also comes in unfragranced, sport and cotton and unsented sensetive so ther is something to suit everyone.
