So there I was in Boots with a voucher in my hand for extra Advantage Points if I bought an item from the Boot Botanics range. Now surely you all know me by now – if I have a voucher I am unable to resist the temptation! Anyway I went to have a look at the Botanics range and chose the roll on deodorant as it was the cheapest item that attracted the bonus points – I do like to make sure that I get the best deal possible you see! I’m afraid I can’t remember how much I actually paid for the deodorant as it was some time ago but I think it was in the region of £3 for a 50ml bottle and I received an extra 100 points on my Boots Advantage Card for my trouble. I must say that I am very pleased that this incident took place, as the deodorant itself is great! The Botanics range is advertised as having ‘the pure power of plants’ and the deodorant is no exception. It has pine extract, which apparently neutralises odours and has a refreshing and cooling effect on the skin. The bottle is clear and the liquid inside is pale green, presumably due to the pine extract, so it looks smart on the bathroom shelf. I can’t stand these brightly coloured things that make my bathroom look like a 60’s Flower Power extravaganza! Oops, sorry, I was just climbing on my soapbox there – no pun intended! Whether it is the pine extract that does the work I don’t know but I smelt fresh and clean when I used this deodorant. Actually on the subject of the smell, it is light and subtle but does have a lovely refreshing pine fragrance. I won’t list the ingredients here as they are numerous and very technical. If you really want to know (you sad people – you must get out more!) I suggest you have a look next time you’re in Boots. A word of warning though, unless your eyesight is exceptional, take a magnifying glass – it was the only way that I could manage to r
ead the label! It does warn you not to use it on broken or irritated skin and I would advise you to take this warning seriously! I tried using it after I had shaved under my arms and that was a big mistake! Oh boy, it made my eyes water I can tell you! So there you are a lucky chance and I found another deodorant that does the job, smells nice, but not too strong and is a reasonable price. What more can you ask for?
