Boots Natural Collection Passionfruit Body Spray
Advantages: Gorgeous aroma - Lovely product - Good value..
Disadvantages: None whatsoever..
I really adore using body care products with fruit-based scents and they form a huge part of my collection. After a recent hospital visit during which I had to endure some very painful treatment, my husband took it upon himself to buy me a lovely treat to cheer me up a little, or as he put it - "For being brave."
Presenting me with a small bag of assorted items, I was delighted to note a body spray product from a much-loved brand, namely the Boots Natural Collection. I regularly use many other items from the brand including make up and facial cosmetics, but had never before tried the "Passionfruit Body Spray."
Looking online, I can see that the normal price for the generously-sized 150ml bottle is only £2 which I think offers excellent value for money, considering some smaller body spray products, such as those from the well-known "Impulse" brand often retail at around £1.70 for a much smaller product.
The Passionfruit Body Spray is packaged in an attractive bottle that is circular in shape and made of robust plastic, through which I can see the liquid spray. There is a fairly attractive image printed on the front of the bottle, and all relevant product information is provided for our convenience. There is a plastic black 'pump' dispenser on top of the bottle which dispenses just the correct amount of liquid body spray from the bottle with each spritz. I have noticed similar bottles to this one can splash a huge amount of liquid from their bottles which is not always preferred, especially with scented products.
The smell of the body spray is extremely refreshing, being completely fruit-based which is to my liking of course. I have to confess that I am not sure if I would have been able to pick out which fruits were used in the scent if I had not known beforehand, but this takes nothing away from my enjoyment of the fruity spray.
I find the rich, fruity tones are wonderfully refreshing and the product has become a firm favourite of mine during the recent spell of hot weather we have been experiencing as a result. This has allowed me to agree wholeheartedly with the statement from Boots about the product.... "Use Natural Collection Passionfruit Body Spray daily to give skin instant refreshment." I really think the product would be an ideal travelling companion if jetting off to a hot climate and I for one will definitely be packing my bottle in my case when I next holiday abroad.
I find too that the scent has an attractive 'crispness' to its fragrance that has felt surprisingly uplifting and this has made the product a pleasure to wear.
I think that the fragrance actually bears a resemblance to the Dewberry products from The Body Shop that I used to adore so much, but it is quieter than this, providing a sweeter end result. I find that the scent is not at all over-powering to wear, nor does it become too 'heady' and overtake any other fragranced products that I have chosen to apply at the same time. There is no trace of vanilla or any sort of 'sickly' edge to the fruity scent; instead, it is full-bodied, crisp and completely refreshing.
The scent fades greatly after a few hours wear, although it can still be detected, quietly 'resting' on the skin if I seek it out. This is something that I have found is the case with most other brands of body spray that I use on a daily basis however, so I won't be deducting any stars from the product rating for this. I do wish that the scent would become more full-bodied over time, or not fade to this extent at the very least but the product is not a perfume after all, so I can't feel too disappointed at the results, finding them to be on a par with any other body spray products that I wear regularly.
I am pleased to report that I have noticed nothing in the way of aggravation or irritation to my sensitive skin after using this product, and even the troublesome patches of eczema that will flare easily have remained quiet. This result has allowed me to conclude that the product may carry a rather gentle formulation that has perhaps been designed to be suitable for use on sensitive skin.
The bottle has lasted fairly well, as I find that one or two sprays from the bottle is more than adequate for my own requirements. With about a third of the bottle remaining, after about 5 weeks use, I am happy that the product is highly economical and I think the £2 price tag offers excellent value for money.
In summary, I have nothing negative to report about Boots Natural Collection Passionfruit Body Spray and I will definitely be repurchasing the product when my current bottle runs out. It is gorgeously fruity and fragrant, with an uplifting, refreshing quality about it and it gets full marks from me as a result!
Summary: I'll buy it again, and recommend it!
