“ Brand: Chanel / Type: Spray / Suitable for: Body „
I am a massive fan of Chanel and have managed to collect the whole range of mens products, yes I am a little obsessed with aftershaves, EDT's and deodorants and basically male grooming products so expect many reviews.
I am reviewing the deodorant vaporisateur spray for the most classic Chanel fragrance which is Allure Homme. The Allure Homme range consists of the EDT(Eau De Toilette), aftershave, aftershave moisturiser, shower gel and of course the product I am reviewing the deodorant. Essentially as they are all in the same range, they all have the same smell, however each product has a different purpose and hence at times each will have different strengths, with some being much more diluted than others.
The difference between the more expensive deodorants like this one and the Lynx of this world is mainly the brand name but also there are a lot more different notes(smells) used in the creation of the deodorant. The main notes here are Bergomet, Mandarin and Citron Zest, with the middle note simply being Jamaican pepper and there are a number of base notes which include cedarwood and vetiver.
The main thing I didn't like about these Chanel deodorant sprays is that you have to spray many times, and only a little comes out with each spray. With a Lynx can you can hold it down and with one spray decide how little or how much you want to put on.
In terms of the smell it is very authentic and a step above any mainstream adidas or lynx deodorant. It just oozes quality. It isnt too strong that it is an overpowering smell and you can real smell the main notes like the Citron Zest mixed with the pepper. I think it is a good daily wear smell and for something like an interview. The danger is that the interviewer wouldn't like it, but I feel this is a smell that everyone thinks smell well so you really cannot go wrong.
Like most deodorants expect this to last a few hours. It is a deodorant rather than an antiperspirant so you can spray it on clothes and in fact that this may be more ideal if you want it to last longer and get better value for money.
The cheapest place you can currently get this is the perfume shop for £22.50. So I am sure if you were tempted by this before, now your suddenly baulking at the price especially when these days you can get a lynx for a couple of pound. So why spend 10 times as much for a Chanel deodorant. Well I can't make too good a case here, but what I can say is that if you have tried this Chanel deodorant you will know that it just smells much purer and richer than the mainstream brands. People who smell it on you will instantly know you are wearing something classy and well you can't put a price on that can you? Of course in terms of wearing it daily wear you can but it will cost you a fortune. So I recommend if you buy this to just have it for special occasions and use it sparingly.
Overall due to this being on the premium side of deodorant I will knock of a star although I am tempted not to. At the end of the day it is a premium deodorant so they all cost this much and shouldn't really be used as a disadvantage. The other reason I will say it is four stars is due to their being other deodorants which I think are even better and well I can't give them all five stars can I.
