      Terrible waste of money

Clinique Happy for Men deodorant is not something I would never buy but I was given this as a gift from a female colleague who said her husband didn't like it. I am unsure if she was trying to tell me I have a BO problem or not but if she was, then I suppose she could have given me something a bit cheaper, so I tried not to take offence.

Apparently this stuff costs £15 for a 200ml can. The can is not an aerosol so it is more enviornmentally friendly. I sweat a lot, I admit I do, partly due to the fac that I am a big bloke, overweight and hairy and I have my personal favourites of men''s deodorants and I tend to know what will work for me and what won't. However, I was prepared to give this a go seeing as it was free.

The smell is pleasant enough. Ever so slightly citrus but way too subtle for me personally. I like to be able to SMELL my deodorant. I like a good strong smell as that makes me feel like it is doing me and my sweat glands some good.

This did nothing for me personally as far as my perspiration was concerned. My shirts were soaked through at the armpits by the end of the day and I felt wet and uncomfortable.

I am afraid I would never in a million years pay this much for a deodorant, (even if I really loved it) but this stuff is just terrible as fair as stopping the sweat is concered. I may as well have sprayed my arm pits with fresh air for all the good it did.

      Not recommended, sorry.

      A lovely fresh deodrant

Clinique Happy for men is one of the freshest cleanest smelling male fragrances around and it just so happens to be one of my favourite smells. Unfortunately for me I am allergic to the aftershave and it causes me to get headaches and feel sick. Luckily for me however they also do a range of accessory products to the aftershave that don't cause me the problems that the aftershave does meaning that I can still wear one of my favourite smells even if it is in just a subtle way.

The Clinique Happy deodrant natural spray can be bought from Clinique counters up and down the highstreet in places such as Debenhams or Boots and costs in the region of £15 for a 200ml bottle. Now this is expensive when compared to Lynx or Gillette but you are paying extra for both the name and the scent which isn't generic like those other deodrants are.

The basenotes of Clinique Happy for men contains top notes of Kaffir Lime, Kalamanzi Fruit, Mandarin and Yuzu.
Middle notes of Green notes and base notes of Cedar, Mediterranean Cypress and Guiacwood.
The smell is very citrus based but with a really sweet edge to it. For me it is definately a summer fragrance for those warm sunny days when you want something light and fresh.

Now the deodrant smells exactly the same as the aftershave with the difference being that the scent is much more subtle than the cologne spray. When used in conjunction with the shower gel it gives me a really nice light fragrance that lasts a surprisingly long amount of time.
To get the best out of the spray I have found it better to spray it over my entire body as when used on just my arm pits I just don't get enough of the fragrance for my liking. If using the cologne spray then this might be enough but for those like me who enjoy smelling their fragrance then you want to cover yourself as much as possible.

Obviously when using the spray like this it doesn't last all that long but if using it only under your armpits everyday then I would imagine that you would get about 3 months of use from it which isn't so bad.
One thing to be weary of is that the deodrant gives absolutely zero protection against perspiration so if you sweat a lot or it is a hot day then you might need to think about using a fragance free anti-persirent before putting this on as I have found that the smell of sweat will easily come through the fragrance.

If you like the smell of Clinique Happy then the deodrant is worth buying. Yes the smell is subtle but when used in conjunction with the other products it will help the scent last longer and give you a more intense burst of fragrance.
I also think it is nice to use just on it's own without the cologne spray if you fancy a light subtle fragrance instead of something more potent that will leave you feeling fresh and clean.

I wouldnt even recommend this to my worst enemy.

The Clinique Happy for Men deodorant spray is described as a natural spray and is a non-aerosol spray therefore being more environmentally friendly than normal aerosol cans apparently. The deororant spray comes in a simple orange canister with the words 'Clinique happy for men' on it, also stated is the fact it is a natural deodorant spray. The can is of a very simple design but it does stand out in the bright orange colour. Priced at £15 for the 200ml can this does seem very expensive for such a product - these are my thoughts exactly! I didn't buy the spray myself, it was given to me by a friend who found it useless and they offered me it. I didn't want to turn down the opportunity to review another product, but I certainly wouldn't have paid £15 for a body spray regardless of any rave reviews I may have read.

Unfortunately for me the price isn't the only disappointment with this Clinique product. Unlike deodorant sticks, I expect aerosol sprays to have a good deal of fragrance to them. The fragrance from this one is quite a muted citrus smell and not at all refreshing in my opinion. The claim of 'all-day protection' doesn't wash with me - I certainly weren't impressed by the staying power of this product. I doubt I would have even bought this product in the shops, as the scent isn't even nice if you were testing it in the shop.

If you are using other Clinique products successfully then I wouldn't be surprised if this was bought also, but you are sure to be disappointed with the product, especially having paid around 6 times the cost of most other branded deodorant sprays. At least you will be able to use this product knowing it is a non-aerosol, but is this enough for £15? I think not....
