At the moment I am really trying hard to keep my bathroom neat and tidy. One of the things I have been keeping my eyes peeled for is smaller products so they don't create so much clutter in my smallest of rooms so out have gone big cans of deodorant and in are smaller products like these! This I bought in a roll so its a dinky product and it cost me just £1.02 in Boots recently and it being pink and white in colour it fits in nicely with my colourscheme too! The Packaging: Like I have already said this is a roll on Anti-Perspirant and its mainly made from white plastic (the body) and it has a large and light pink plastic twist on/off cap to the bottom of it concealing a very large see through plastic roller and on the front of it we are told that it is Dove 'Beauty Finish' 48H 'Beauty Mineral Enriched' and that it contains 0% Alcohol and is of course an Anti-Perspirant product and then on the back of the bottle other information given includes the size (which in this case is 500ml), the ingredients are given and contact details for the manufacturer are clearly stated. This is really nice and high quality and informative enough packaging from Dove and its easy to handle and use as well which is great! The Deodorant Itself: This dispenses a lovely cool wettish liquid which is really soft when applied to the skin and dries quickly but leaves the skin feeling moisturised for hours. The scent of this is really hard to describe but it is feminine, sweet and I can't make out whether its meant to be a bit fruity or floral but it doesn't matter to me its simply smells really nice and fresh and it isn't in your face though the scent of this does linger for quite a few hours once applied on me. This is a highly effective moisturising in a none greasy way deodorant and although I have always been more of a fan of sprays this one has converted me cos its so just mild and gentle and does the job of not only keeping me smelling nice but also it doesn't put white marks on my clothes, any scent that goes onto my tops is easily washed out but I can use this straight after shaving my armpits and I get no rash or burn whatsoever. A little of this of a very long way indeed and I can use this of a morning and by the next morning I'm still feeling fresh and smelling clean and this also keeps my armpits feeling dry and not one bit moist even when I'm at the gym working out hard. I really like this one, its a great size for travelling so I can take this to the gym with me or to my mums when staying there without it taking up to much room in a bag or a case and it really does offer value for money as it lasts ages ! A great little but this one is and its available from all good chemists and supermarkets usually for anywhere up to the two quid mark though like I have already mentioned I paid just over a pound for mine recently from Boots as it is on offer! This review is also posted on Ciao under this same username.
The Dooyoo picture for this category is currently not correct so just to confirm I am writing a review of the Dove Beauty Finish Roll-on Anti-perspirant Deodorant. I first bought this a few months ago when I was browsing at my local Asda. It was on offer, being reduced to £1, and the packaging was very attractive to me so I decided to try it. I almost always use roll on deodorants because they seem to offer more protection than an aerosol deodorant. I need a strong, well-fragranced deodorant because I'm quite an active person and I also sometimes suffer from hyper-hydrosis when I'm nervous. I've used quite a lot of different deodorants trying to find ones that work well. I'd never used this Dove roll on before though although I have used other products in the Dove range and trust that the brand make high quality products. This deodorant comes in a 50ml sized plastic cone shaped bottle. The bottle feels really light and it's quite small sois perfect for taking to the gym etc. It has a pale pink plastic top on which it stands. This is useful as it means the liquid deodorant is always already inside the rollerball dispensing end when you pick it up. The top unscrews easily when you twist it. I mentioned that the packaging attracted me and this is because it looks like a very girly deodorant with all the pink colours on the cap and on the label. The elegant 'Dove' logo with a little silver bird, a picture of pink mineral rocks and also the name of the product, 'beauty finish' are all things that feel very feminine. The label on the front of the bottle tells me that the deodorant is enriched with 'beauty' minerals, contains no alcohol, contains ¼ Dove moisturising lotion and will protect me for 48 hours. Full ingredients are found on the label on the back of the bottle. You can also peel back this label for access to brand contact details. I can smell the deodorant as soon as I remove the cap of the bottle. It has a lovely, strong fragrance which reminds me of cherry blossom. It's one of the nicest roll on deodorant fragrances I've come across. The roller ball moves around easily as you apply and there are no sharp bits on the edges. The application feels really smooth and soft. The deodorant comes out quickly and you can see it on your skin. It's quite thick and white. I was initially concerned at how dense and white the deodorant appears as I was concerned that it would not dry properly and leave white marks on my clothes. However, once you have applied the deodorant it becomes more transparent as it dries. It does not feel sticky at all but feels a bit like moisturiser that is sinking into the skin. The deodorant works really well. It keeps me dry under the arms unless I'm excessively sweating through something like exercise. In which case the fragrance nullifies any horrible sweaty odours. I feel fresh all day long. My underarm skin feels soft throughout the day although I've noticed at the end of the day that sometimes around the edge of where I've applied the deodorant my skin feels a bit dry. Other than this though I've had no problems with irritation or anything. I can apply immediately after shaving and it's fine. I will definitely buy this product again as it works well for me. I really love the qualities of the product overall and would recommend to any female consumers.
I've used a couple of Dove deodorants before and been unimpressed but when I saw this one on offer I thought I may as well give it a go and see if it was any better. I can't remember how much I paid for it but the 250ml size is currently £3.69 in Boots. It comes in a tall aerosol can which curves in towards the top and has a pearly pink plastic pull off lid. It has a button on top as you would expect from a spray-on deodorant, and this is not too stiff or difficult to press. The design of the can is quite simple but I think it looks really nice and has a high quality feel to it. The deodorant sprays out quite fast and it's quite a fine spray rather than a wider mist, so you do need to be careful how close you have it or you'll end up with a big wet patch. If you hold it the right distance away though, a little more than the 15cm suggested on the can, it sprays on nice and evenly and doesn't feel wet or sticky. It has a nice scent which is sweet and floral but still nice and fresh and subtle, not overpowering. Because it isn't wet or sticky I can get dressed pretty much straight after applying it. It doesn't leave a powdery residue on my skin either, but it does leave white marks on dark clothes, so I would only use this when I'm wearing light colours, which luckily for me is most days as my uniform is white. I was quite surprised with how well this deodorant protected me, I'm not an especially sweaty person but when I do get hot and sweaty most deodorants don't seem to make any difference, whereas this one keeps me feeling fresh and dry, and it lasts a full day at work without me having to reapply it. I do find that this leaves my underarm skin feeling soft and smooth so I can believe that the moisturising cream in the formula does it's job, but I'm not sure it makes the skin look any better, which is supposed to be the main selling point of this deodorant. I do think this is a good, effective deodorant, so even though it seems quite expensive at full price I would be happy to pay it for the security of knowing I won't get any wet patches.
Just to clarify, I am reviewing the spray on version of this product. I have always liked Dove products and if I see their deodorant on special offer, I will stock up, regardless of which fragrance it is. As I had not tried this one before, I thought "why not?" ===Appearance=== Like all other Dove sprays, this has a slight, what I call, high waist, which enables you to have a more comfortable grip on the can. However, if you've got wet hands, expect to part company with the can once you go to use it! ===Fragrance=== I have to say, this is not my favourite scent from Dove. Just named Beauty Finish, it doesn't claim to have any particular smell. To me, it is a mixture of talc and roses - rather old ladyish in my view. It is quite a strong smell too, which does linger wherever you've sprayed for quite some time. Admittedly is does tame down with time, but I find it can interfere with my perfume choice. ===White Marks?=== Yes, I'm sorry to say the dreaded white marks do appear with this deodorant. A good 10 minutes after using it, I put on a black T-shirt, only to find white marks all over the top. So, not a product to reach for, if you're planning on wearing that little black dress to an important occasion. ===Claims Made By The Product=== Beauty Mineral Enriched - apparently these are meant to "enhance the natural look of the skin". I have been using this for a few weeks now and I can honestly say I have noticed absolutely no difference in the skin under my arms. One Quarter Moisturising Cream - This is a major part of all Dove products and I must say, my underarm skin does remain soft when I use this product, just like when I use their other deodorants. 24 Hour Protection - I may be missing something here, but for me, it only works for a couple of hours, when I need to re-apply, meaning I have to choke on the intoxicating fumes again! So this falls a long way short of the 24 hours it claims to keep you dry for. ===Use After Shaving=== Being alcohol free, this product is fine to use after shaving. There is no mad hopping around the bathroom where it stings, in fact, it feels quite cooling after shaving. ===Price=== I normally pick mine up when the big 250ml cans are on half price offer, or two smaller cans, 150ml, are two for £3. Normally a 250ml is about £3.44 in Tesco or £2.99 for a 150ml can. The roll on comes in around £2. ===Recommended?=== Owing to the lack of protection and horrible (in my opinion) smell, I would have to say no unfortunately. It does leave your skin feeling soft, but as I previously said, I can't see any great improvement to my underarms through the minerals that are in the product. The white marks are also a big mark against this as I do wear a lot of dark clothing and the last thing I want to do before leaving the house is to perform an emergency white mark removal. Sorry Dove, but I shall be returning to other fragrances from you in the future and leaving the Beauty Finish to glam up the shop shelf. Also on ciao
This deodrant is quite average, It claims to be an anti-perspirant however I do still sweat when I am using it, I have not managed to find a deodrant that stops this, for everyday use it is ok it smells nice and prevents a bad smell. However if you are playing sport or it is a particularly hot day then you may need more protection such as a secial sport deodrant. I would say that you need to apply this deodrant twice a day for it to be effective. The only downside to this deodrant is the cost, as it is a well known brand it costs more than stores own make deodrant that is of a similar quality, The best time to buy this would be when it is on special offer otherwise you would be paying more for the brand name. The bottle would usually last me for around 3 weeks if I used it twice daily.
I am rarely loyal to a beauty product, but I have stuck with Dove's Invisible dry deodorant for a few years now. I wouldn't have changed to be honest, but when my fiancé was buying deodorant recently the large cans of Dove were on a special offer he got the male one for him and I got the Beauty Finish variety, which was the only female deodorant included in the offer. ==About the product== This deodorant is enriched with minerals and Dove say that these ingredients will enhance the look of the skin. I am prone to rashes and redness under my arms and in summer in particular it can be a bit of a pain choosing what to wear as I don't like my underarms to be exposed. This product therefore appealed to me, as I was hoping it would care for my underarms and calm the redness. Like all other Dove products this contains ¼ moisturising cream - again a plus point for me as I have dry skin. There is no alcohol in the product and it promises to offer 24 hour protection. ==Packaging== The product is available in the form of a roll on or a spray and I have the spray. The can it comes in is white and pink with an illustration of pink crystals on the front. It's gently curved towards the top to aid grip and I think on the whole, whilst the packaging doesn't look anything special, it's nice enough for what it is. ==My thoughts== To use they recommend shaking the can first and I have noticed that if you don't shake the can the spray will go onto the skin thick and white rather than clear. Once you spray this on, it's immediately cooling on the skin and it doesn't sting at all. The deodorant has a pleasant smell to it, it has a creamy soapy smell a bit like the classic Dove soap, but there is a very faint floral edge to this too, which makes it smell quite feminine. As I usually wear the invisible deodorant which is meant to deter white marks, I was concerned that this would be a problem, especially as I wear a lot of black. As long as the can has been shaken first I don't find white marks to be a problem at all thankfully. In terms of it's effectiveness as an anti-perspirant I also find this to be good. On a general day to day basis - going to the office, nipping round the shops, doing the housework etc... it is fine, I never feel that I need to re-apply it and even when it's warm I think it offers good protection and I never feel that I am sweating. When doing more physical activity - such as working out or running to work when I'm late (!!), I find this also holds up well. I will be totally honest if it's very warm and I'm exercising, I do find that my underarms get a little bit damp, but not to the same extent they would had I not applied this first and I never notice that sweaty smell. And what about that beauty finish? Well this is where the product has really impressed me. I've been using it for around two months now and I have noticed a clear difference in the appearance of my underarms. They seem much smoother and the redness has all but gone. It could be a complete coincidence but I have also not had any rashes or itching under my arms since I began using this. I'm not embarrassed to show my underarms any more and I might even brave a strapless dress or two for the party season this year! ==Price== I got the 250ml size which is actually quite large and despite using it daily it has lasted me around 2 months so far. A smaller 150ml size is also available, as well as the roll on which is 50ml. I got mine as part of a 2 for £4 offer at ASDA. I have looked around and some price comparisons are below. 150ml - £2 ASDA / £2.20 Boots / £2.10 Tesco 250ml - £3.16 ASDA / £3.40 Boots / £3.17 Tesco 50ml roll on - £2 ASDA / £2.05 Boots / £1 Tesco ==To sum up== On the whole I am very pleased with this and it has lived up to the high expectations I have from the Dove brand. I love that it has improved the appearance of my underarms, it keeps me fresh and doesn't leave white marks. Although I still like the Dove Invisible Dry, I will now switch to Dove Beauty Finish as it does everything Invisible Dry does and more.
