I read about Bzz Agent on this site (thanks guys) and signed up in the middle of January this year. They describe themselves as the leading social marketing company. Members get the opportunity to test products and share their opinions about the products with family and friends and a larger audience via online reviews. I was really excited a couple of weeks later to get my first campaign invite to test drive compressed deodorants.
Compressed deodorants deliver the same protection as normal sprays but require less gas. It hardly seems possible that you get the same amount of deodorant in a much smaller can but that's the claim. Apparently compressed deodorants use half the amount of gas and a quarter less aluminium making them more environmentally friendly than usual aerosol deodorants.
The Dove experience
I received two Dove compressed sprays and the one I have used so far is Dove Original which has a fairly bland but pleasant fragrance. The directions for use are to shake the can well and then hold it 15cm from the underarm and spray for as long as you would with a normal deodorant which I take to be a good burst of spray.
The can contains 75ml and is about half the size of the usual 150 ml canister. It seems amazing to me that this gives the same protection and lasts as long as its bigger cousin but this does indeed seem to be the case. In fact it claims to give 48 hour antiperspirant protection. I wouldn't normally put this to the test but I'm just back from a ski-ing holiday and the long journey meant I didn't shower for 48 hours and I certainly didn't feel that I was smelly by the time I finally stepped into the shower! Some pretty challenging ski-ing also gave me the opportunity to really test the product (much more than my usual sedentary day hunched over a laptop). By the time I got back to the chalet where we were staying after a day on the slopes, the rest of my clothes might have been damp from sweat (don't horses sweat, men perspire and women glow?) but my underarms were surprisingly dry and fresh.
Being a Dove product, the deodorant is moisturising and enriched with Vitamin E. I did apply it immediately after shaving my arm pits and there was no sting at all. So all in all I'm pretty impressed with this little can.
Would I buy ?
I'm not particularly brand loyal when it comes to deodorants. I tend to buy whatever is on offer and at around £2.75 I might opt for something cheaper for everyday use. However, I will definitely be buying this for my next holiday. It's effective and takes up half the size of a normal aerosol.

I recently got the chance to try out the Compressed Anti-Perspirant Deodorant from the well-known 'Dove' brand as I am a Bzz Agent, and was selected to try out this product as part of their recent campaign.
I was delighted to receive two full-sized canisters from the Dove Compressed range, each being 125ml in size. True, the canisters are much smaller than most other full-sized deodorant sprays that I buy regularly, but that is the whole point of this product as the Compressed canister claims to "last just as long" as your regular-sized sprays.
As @ the time of writing, the Dove Compressed canisters are available to purchase from good drugstores such as Boots, where you can buy online at www.boots.com, where you can expect to pay in the region of £3.50 per can, exclusive of postage costs.
As part of my trial as a Bzz Agent, I was given one Dove 'Original' spray, and one Dove 'Go Fresh' spray. The packaging is fairly simplistic, but attractive enough, with the Go Fresh spray having pink-coloured detail on its white can, and being complete with a pink lid, and the Original spray having blue-coloured detail and a blue lid.
I found the appearance of the Dove sprays to be quite simple, but there was a notable contemporary design to be enjoyed, I think. I did like the small and more-petite-than-usual size and design of the Compressed canisters, feeling that they would be ideal to take on my next holiday as they take up considerably less space than most other deodorant sprays that I buy regularly. In actual fact, the size of the Dove Compressed Deodorants is on a par with your average body spray product, rather than the larger, chunkier Deodorants that we are all familiar with.
Using the sprays is very easy to do, and I just need to remove the plastic lid which reveals a plastic 'nozzle' contained within the metal canister. Pressing on this nozzle will dispense a fine spray of the Dove Compressed Deodorant and I liked how the amount dispensed didn't feel any less than what I am used to, but neither did it 'swamp' my underarm area with a thick coating of product; a fine mist was dispensed, and this felt more than ample for my requirements. I liked too how the product didn't feel sticky or tacky during application.
In terms of the products' scents, I felt these were quite understated, which is my preference with products like this one as I am not too fond of strongly-scented products that feel over-bearing. In the case of the Go Fresh spray, the scent is quite fruity which I thought allowed it to feel quite summery and quietly refreshing. In the case of the Dove Original spray, the scent was more feminine, reminding me of a 'powdery' scent that is along the same lines as a baby lotion product, or perhaps a talcum powder. Both scents are very pleasant, and neither felt 'heady' or sickly during the time the products were being worn.
I did feel that the Dove Compressed Deodorant sprays worked well at keeping me dry and fresh in the underarm area, and certainly I felt that they worked as well as my usual product. Although I always apply my Anti-Perspirant Deodorant in the morning after showering, I do usually have a 'touch up' application of deodorant at some point in the late afternoon, and this practice was still carried out during the time I used the Dove sprays. This re-application is probably more down to my own habits than actual requirements, and certainly I was never aware of a 'need' to re-apply due to odour or wetness; this is just my preference, and my normal routine.
I liked how 'gentle' the Dove Compressed Deodorants are; I have never experienced any dryness or irritation in my underarm area, which is extremely prone to sensitivity and will 'flare' aggressively if I use products which are inferior or overly harsh. Based on these results, I do feel that the Dove Compressed Deodorants are products of a very high quality. Additionally, I feel that the products are suitable for those consumers who, like me, suffer with sensitive skin issues as they have never caused any irritation, irrespective of their noticeable scents.
In terms of the product being economical, I do feel that the canister has lasted for as long as my usual product, which is housed in a canister much bigger than the Dove Compressed, of course. This result means that I do feel that the product's claims about it lasting for a long time are completely justified.
I was pleased to be asked to try out the Dove Compressed Deodorants as a Bzz Agent, and I do feel that I would buy the sprays in the future, particularly the Go Fresh variety, as I felt this would be a lovely product to use in the warmer summer months, thanks to its uplifting fruity aroma.
I do feel that the normal purchase price is slightly high, but as the canister has lasted for quite a long time, this is perhaps slightly more justified than I originally thought.
A couple of weeks ago I was offered the chance to trial Dove Original Compressed. I jumped at the chance as I really like Dove products. The idea behind a compressed deodorant is that a 150ml deodorant is compressed into a 75ml can. This provides the same amount of deodorant and protection but in smaller packaging which makes it easier to store, carry around and dispose of.
I am genuinely surprised how small the can of deodorant is. It is tiny about the same size as a can of Impulse body spray. The can contains all the same information, advice and contact details as the original size can.
We are told that the compressed deodorant lasts as long as the full size deodorant, which it does. I have been using the deodorant each morning before getting dressed or after a shower and it has lasted me over 2 weeks so far and it will probably last another week, so three weeks in total which is roughly the same amount of time as the larger size cans.
The deodorant has the signature Original Dove scent which s clean, warm, fresh and soapy. The scent lasts well through out the day and I can smell the scent at the end of the day as I get ready for bed and if I get warm during the day the scent seems to get stronger and leaves me feeling confidant that I will smell fresh all day.
One of the main boasts of Dove deodorant is that it contains ¼ moisturiser, 0% alcohol and vitamin E which keep under arms looking beautiful. Although I don't spend much time looking at my underarms I will admit that they feel smooth and soft. As the deodorant is 0% alcohol it is very gently and I suffer no stinging when I apply immediately after shaving.
All things considered I would happily buy Dove compressed if it was available at the same price as the regular sized Dove. It gives the same great scent and lasting protection as the full size cans but takes up less room when stored.
Thank you for reading.
I picked this deodorant up from my local supermarket, I have always the loved the Dove brand which was my initial reason for buying this Deodorant and after spotting it whilst browsing when shopping I decided to pick it up and give it a try.
Dove Compressed Deodorant is a deodorant/antiperspirant spray which has been compressed so 150ml can fit into a can half the size, it is thought to be better for the environment which is always a plus for me when buying a new product of this kind. This deodorant really smells lovely, it is quite a strong aroma when sprayed onto yourself but the aroma is a nice smell, in fact the aroma it gives off is so powerful that I tend not to wear perfume when I have used this as there does not seem to be the need, as this deodorant gives my body a beautiful fragrance and I have had comments on how nice I smell when using it.
It comes in a normal type of aerosol can and has the dove logo brand on the front, it lets us know on the can that this deodorant is compressed and also that it has 0% alcohol and contains vitamin E, this deodorant claims to give up to 48 hours protection. This deodorant has a simple pull on, off lid which stays firmly onto the can when not using, even when out and about this lid has never fell off when being carried in my bag, the back off this deodorant will give you all the details you may need such as the ingredients
and the directions for use.
As I have already said this deodorant has a strong fragrance but as well as this the strong fragrance is also long lasting, and when spraying in the morning I can still smell it slightly at nights before my evening bath, although this products says 48 hours protection this is something which I can not confirm as I tended to use it daily. For me this was a deodorant which I really liked, the strong fragrance was nice and long lasting, I can not really say anything bad about it but there is a chance I may never use this again but that is more because I like to try out different products all the time and not because it is a terrible product.
This deodorant cost me nearly £3 from my local supermarket where I do my weekly shopping which is at Asda, but this can be bought in most supermarkets as well as online, Amazon sell it but you may pay a little more there than you would at the supermarket. Always read instructions carefully before use.
It was an emergency situation, the middle of the day, I was hot and disgusting and I badly needed a deodorant fix! So i waltzed into Tesco and saw this on the shelf. Here's my opinion:
Price and Packaging:
The main selling point for this product is the packaging. I like the fact they've attempted to compress the bottle, in order to be environmentally friendly and save packaging, and its what originally sold the product to me in the first place, so the marketing strategy clearly worked! I thought it could be useful as a handbag deodorant, and my way to help the planet out. I very much disliked the fact however that they decided to add an extra pound onto the price mark, surely it should be cheaper if there are less packaging costs?
I think the phrase is 'average at best'. It had a fresh, pleasant fragrance which covered up my previous problem, which was really what I was looking for in this particular case. It stopped me sweating instantly as well. Unlike some other dooyooers, I experienced no white marks, but I did give it a really thorough shake before use. In the long run however, the staying power however really wasn't that great. Within a few hours the deodorant needed to be reapplied as I was sweating again. My normal deodorant lasts a good 5-6 hours under normal conditions!
I've had similar issues with the effectiveness of Dove deodorant before, but I hoped this would be different. I really love the fact they are trying to make an environmental impact, but I think in this case the quality of the product means I won't be rebuying. Thumbs down dove!
I am not a huge fan of this product... I found the smell quite overpowering and it left a chalky white layer when applied (normally). It did work as an antiperspirant, however i would only buy this product if you don't mind smelling like a perfume shop all day long! I have tried other scents from this range and found them less offensive, but I would not repurchase this product because i found that the smell bore no resemblance to the name of the scent on the product. I also found that the deodorant leaked out onto my hands when i was spraying it if I wasn't careful, and It also left my throat slightly sore if i got it anywhere near my face like when applying a cheap hairspray. I also found that it did not last as long as I would have expected from an average size can.
I trialled this product a couple of months and liked the fact that it was small enough to carry about in your handbag but still lasted as long as the large cannisters. You only need one small burst of this deodrant and it lasts nearly all day long, leaving you feeling fresh and comfortable. It lasted a little longer than the usual size and when sprayed was not sticky and did not leave any residue or stains on your clothes which is very important.
I received the Dove compressed deodorant as part of a trial from a survey site and when I was offered it I was quick to snap it up. I usually use roll on and wanted to see if this finally would be the spray I've been on the hunt for! I've tried a number of sprays previously but always found they'd leave white marks on my clothes if I didn't wait a few minutes before dressing. With a hectic lifestyle, I like to get dressed as fast as I can! Roll on's are good but I feel that sometimes my underarms feel a bit sticky when applied and that's not comfortable. The deodorant I have is the Go Fresh Cucumber deodorant, but there is also an original one available too.
I usually only use deodorant in the morning after showering (on the proviso that the deodorant lasts and I still feel fresh enough in the evening) and I apply this one in the same way. The design is compressed, essentially the tin bottle is only 75ml but will last the same length of time as the 150ml sized sprays that Dove sell. The bottle is mostly white in colour with a bright green lid and a picture of a cucumber on the front. It's so much smaller than their full size version, meaning it will slot nicely into a bag for taking out with you. That said, I've never felt the need to take it anywhere because it's so long lasting!
The deodorant bottle states to spray in the same way as a normal deodorant, even though the bottle lasts the same length of time as ones twice as large, you spray under arm for the same length of time. I hadn't given it much thought and just assumed you sprayed a smaller amount but then that is the whole 'compressed' theory. It says to hold the can around 15cm away, but I always find it hard to judge that. I spray for around 2 seconds maximum under each arm. The deodorant is quite strong in it's scent, it smells ok, very fresh although I think the scent is slightly overpowering and I find as soon as I've applied it I have to move away from the area because I don't like breathing it in. I cannot detect any cucumber scents! I have only used Dove's roll on deodorants before now so I'm not sure how the scent compares to the normal sprays they make, although I can say that it's scent is much stronger than that of their roll on.
This deodorant does exactly as it says on the tin. I have always found with all roll on deodorants that by the evening I'm starting to feel not as fresh as I did straight after application. Some are a lot worse than others though and I have always thought of Dove as being one of the best I've used. With this spray, it is definitely better than the various sprays I've used in the past. It lasts the full 24 hours until I have my morning shower the following day and I feel just as fresh all day long, just as much as when it was first applied. I find there is no feeling of 'yuckiness' at all throughout the day and no need for a second application later on in the day and hence no need to carry around with me in my bag. The tin states that it will offer protection for 48 hours but I've never had the need to test this. I imagine from my experience and seeing as it lasts until my shower 24 hours later with no problems whatsoever, it will last way over the 24 hour mark. Whether it reaches 48 hours though I'm not sure.
I've found it only leaves very minimal white marks on my clothing, not half as much as other brands I've used previously. Like I said, I'm the type that dresses quickly so I do tend to throw my clothing on as soon as I've sprayed the deodorant but I've not noticed any markings remain on my clothing for long. Those minimal ones I've noticed have brushed out easily and not stained my clothing either.
Although the scent is overpowering, I'm very impressed with this deodorant and I will most probably buy it in Tesco when this tester runs out. It is available normally at a cost of £2.60 in Tesco which I do think is a little expensive compared to my usual offers on roll on of £1.50 but I hope to catch this one on offer too. I rate it four stars, one taken off for the overpowering scent.
Thanks for reading :o)
There is a new range of deodorants out by Dove and also Sure. They are compressed versions of the normal 150ml versions. They come in a 75ml bottle but are supposed to have the same amount of product as the 150ml version. So compressing the size of the bottle saves money and energy as you still have the same quantity of the product. This is really good for those who are conscious of the environment (although I would think that those conscious of the environment would use roll ons). The compressed version has a major benefit over the normal sized deodorants in size as they are more handbag friendly. They are the same size as a body spray and they will fit really well in a clutch bag.
I found the Dove fresh deodorants while shopping in Superdrug and I have yet to see them at other stores. There was also the sure deodorants as well. Because it was a new product there was a promotional offer - £1.32. Although this is probably slightly more than what I would normally pay I had ran out of deodorant and this was the cheapest.
The packaging is pretty standard - like a body spray can. The spray nozel does have a nice soft feel to it though. The scent is very much a nice fresh, spring type of smell. It is very uplifting and makes up wake up. It is also very subtle and not overpowering at all. I don't have a preference when it comes to deodorants and I will usually go for the cheapest branded product. I have always found Dove products to be of good quality and long lasting.
The deodorant claims to give 48 hours of protection but I think it only gives about 12 hours protection. I have never found a deodorant to last as long as 24 hours let alone 48 hours. I think that it lasts for a long time as I have a shower everyday and so I would be using the deodorant everyday so it does not have to last that long.
The deodorant works quite well with me skin, by which I mean I have yet to develop a rash after using it ( I have been using it for 1 month now). I have found many deodorants don't agree with my skin but this one was quite calming. There is vitamin E which helps to soothe skin.
This is a great product for those with a small bag or if you simply don't have enough room. It is also a good alternative when traveling as it is less than 100ml so you can take it on the plane and it is a good size.
WHAT IS IT?
Anti perspirant deodorant from Dove. This is a bit different from the usual one because it comes in a smaller tin but there is the same amount of deodorant in it because the deodorant has been compressed.
The fragrance of this deodorant is very light and fresh. It is feminine and does not smell strong at all. I think it is weak and it wears away very quickly so that I can not smell it at all.
WHAT I THINK
I think it is a very good idea to make the tin smaller because it is better for the environment but I do not think this is a very good deodorant. The weak smell does not matter to me but it does not make me smell fresh and because I have an active job and 3 children I need to use a deodorant that will keep me feeling fresh all day.
I do not sweat a lot but when I went to the gym this morning the Dove deodorant did not keep me dry at all so that I felt very sweaty and dirty after. Even on days when I do not go to the gym it does not feel like it is working properly for me and even when I spray extra on that does not make it any better.
It leaves marks on my clothes also but I do not know if that is because of the deodorant or because I am sweating a little bit extra when I am using this one. I do not think this is very good what ever reason because most of the deodorants now do not mark my clothes at all and I am surprised because this dries quick.
I will not buy this deodorant again because I hate to feel unclean and it did not make me feel fresh like it should.
Dove compressed deodorant costs about £2.
1 Dooyoo Star.
Being a Bzz Agent means I get to try some lovely new products, I recently got to try Dove Compressed Deodorant and although I often opt for roll on deodorants I was keen to try this new product.
Dove Compressed is basically Dove spray on deodorant/antiperspirant but instead of being sold in a 150ml can its been compressed to fit into a can half this size, easier to carry around and better for the environment, a good idea all round.
Dove Compressed is sold in a regular looking aerosol, the front displays the Dove logo, my can is Dove Original, it also informs the customer that this deodorant is compressed, has 0% alcohol, contains vitamin E, is an antiperspirant deodorant and will give up to 48 hours protection.
The back of the can gives all the usual information you would expect to find on a product like this such as directions for use and ingrediants. All of this is clearly written and easy to read should you wish to do so.
The can has a nice curvy shape which is easy to hold, the lid is a simple pull off- push on lid which has always stayed put despite being in the bottom of my handbag or gym bag. The top has a nice big chunky button with a non slip top which like most aerosols needs to be pressed to release the product. I particularly like this large button and the non slip top, it would be easier for those with hand problems to use.
The deodorant comes out in a nice fine mist, it smells gorgeous, sweet and floral with a nice powdery hint to it. The smell is strong and when I was using the deodorant I was often asked what perfume I was wearing, its really very pleasant, however I love my nice perfume and hate anything that interferes with it. The strong fragrance is nice to just go to the gym or stay at home but generally I prefer something that doesn't smell as strong.
Dove state this will give 48 hour protection, now personally I have never gone 48 hours without washing and certainly don't intend to try for the sake of trying it out but I personally don't think this product lives up to that statement. I applied my Dove in the morning after my shower and was pleased to see that it dried reasonably quickly, there's nothing worse than standing looking like a chicken flapping around trying to dry your deodorant. However after only a couple of hours I could feel my underarms feeling wet and I'm not a sweaty person, they didn't smell the only smell coming from them was the Dove which was a relief but my arm pits certainly weren't dry. I found to keep my underarms fresh and dry I had to reapply this several times a day.
The fragrance however certainly did last, I could still smell it quite strongly after an evening bath and even when I woke up the next morning it was still evident.
I have now used my Dove compressed and I certainly wont be buying it in the future, whilst the fragrance of it is very nice its far too strong for me, I was regularly wet and uncomfortable under my arms too. The only positive I can say about this is the smaller can which is designed to last as long as a regular sized can, it does fit easily into a handbag or gym bag but I cant really judge if it does really last as long as I had to use mine several times a day.
Dove Compressed is currently selling for £2.60 in Tesco, I for one wont be buying it.
Dove Compressed deodorant
I received this as I am a BzzAgent and although I usually use non aerosol deodorants I was happy to trial this one
I quite like Dove products and have found them good quality.
This is a nice neat little can that holds the same product as a big spray does usually but uses less CFCs so is better for the environment. It is pretty neat so will fit in your handbag if you feel the need for a top up during the day or to pop in your gym bag.
I have found that it gives me good protection for a full day with no need for a top up. It says it gives 48 hour protection but as I bath daily I apply this in the morning after 24 hours so can't say whether the claim is accurate.
It smells fresh and pleasant and doesn't leave any white marks on my clothes. In fact I don't sweat at all in the winter in our country so no marks at all when using this.
Another positive is that there are no parabens, colourants, or alcohol in the contents and it has been dermatologically tested.
It feels quite cold on application but no stinging and I have had no nasty reaction under my arms from using this either. It is supposed to have a moisturiser in the product but I can't say I have noticed my armpits being any softer but they are also not dry and sore either so maybe it is working.
What do I think all in all? I would buy this again as I have found it works really well at keeping me smelling pleasant and dry. The only thing that slightly concerns me is the fact that it is still an aerosol so there are CFCs which are not good for the environment. Dove do say that they have compressed the same amount of product in a smaller can so less gas is needed than before but there is still gas to propll the stuff out.
It leaves no marks on any of my clothes, not even black ones.
It dries quickly after application and feels non sticky.
It is small and will fit neatly in a bag and it looks attractive in its packaging. The shape of the container is rounded and easy to hold and use.
I have had no nasty rashes or reaction under my arms and my arm pits feel nice and soft so the moisturiser must be working.
I was given two of these mini cans from BzzAgent and when my step son's girlfriend arrived one week end without hers I kindly offered her my spare can and she was equally impressed with its scent and deodorising quality so thumbs up from her as well. She even played squash a couple of times and still smelled fresh and clean using this so she was well pleased.
So well done Dove for a nice neat sweet smelling product in a small neat easy to carry can. I also like the fcat that the can can be recycled along with normal can recycling which is a positive.
Thanks for reading. This review may be posted on other sites under my same username
As a bzzagent I was lucky enough to try the new compressed deodorants for free. It is just one of the many products i have tried and test through bzzagent. I received two cans of Dove invisible dry deodorant along with some money off coupons to pass to friends and family and a campaign book. I was very excited to be taken part as this product sounded innovative and I was extremely interested to see if it lived up to its claims.
Dove have compressed their 150ml cans into smaller 75ml cans. They claim that the new cans contain the same amount of deodorant as the regular standard size bottles, will last just as long and will work just as well. This is possible due to the new re-engineered spray nozzle which sprays out less gas but the same amount of deodorant as before.
The cans design is a little plain and its not something that would have jumped out and grabbed my attention whilst in the supermarket. The can is white and light grey, the front shows the Dove logo and product name. A green strip around the top informs us that this deodorant has been "compressed" and that it "lasts as long with less packaging", there is also a small diagram picture of a 75ml can next to a 150ml can. It is 0% alcohol, contains the usual Dove 1/4 moisturising cream and will not leave white marks.
The back of the can gives general information, ingredients, warning along with directions for use. The can can be recycled.
My first impression was how much easier and comfortable it was to hold compared to a regular sized can, it fitted nicely into my hand and I was able to get a good grip of the product. At first I found the spray nozzle a little stiff but after a few uses it eased up. The fragrance was a bit of a let down, a hint of muskiness and not much else. I think it would suit those who like a more subtle fragrance to their deodorant. It did work well at keeping me dry and feeling fresh throughout the day, and I didn't feel the need to re-apply. Dove claims that it has 48 hour protection, personally I don't think any deodorant can work for that long. I never experienced any white marks on my clothes whilst using the product.
I have been using my can of Dove for just over two weeks now and am fairly convinced with the claim that it lasts just as long as a 150ml can, I actually still have a decent amount left.
A smaller can has many positive aspects. Firstly its more environmentally friendly, in fact Unilever claim that:
"If one million people switched to compressed deodorants, we could save 720 tonnes of CO2 and enough aluminium to make over 20,000 bikes"
Its smaller size also makes it far more convenient than a regular bottle, as its much easier and lighter to slip into a bag. It is perfect for those that travel as it can be popped into hand luggage.
I always buy branded deodorants but will tend to opt for whichever is on offer at the time, usually around the £1 mark. Dove compressed has a RRP of £2.49, which I feel is a little expensive to be buying on a regular basis. If I saw it on offer I would certainly buy it again, although I would definitely choose a different fragrance. Sure and Vaseline also have a range of new compressed deodorants which I am tempted to try.
Dove are currently offering a money back guarantee on this product, so its certainly worth giving it a go!
I am a Bzzagent, which means I get sent some fantastic products to review and then spread the word about them by talking to friends and family and by writing reviews etc.
I was recently sent two cans of the new Dove Compressed Deodorants to try out. The compressed deodorants say they have as much in the new 75ml can as would usually be in a 150ml can.
I don't tend to stick to a particular deodorant, I generally just try and buy a god branded one when they are on offer. I haven't used Dove deodorant for a while so I was looking forward to trying this out. The size of the can is great, it feels compact and light and very handy for travelling or keeping in your handbag.
I have never been a fan of overpowering smells when it comes to deodorant, but then nor do I like unscented ones and I must say I have found the scent of the Original Dove deodorant to be just perfect for what I like. It has a lovely scent that doesn't smell of artificial flowers or dodgy perfume. It can be smelt slightly even when you put a top on.
They say that you still use the compressed deodorant in the same way that you use a normal sized one i.e spray for the same amount of time. I have now finished one can of it and it lasted just over a week when I just used it once every morning after my shower. So it didn't last as long as I thought it might, or should have. I think I would have expected 2 weeks use out of it ideally.
Now I have 'googled' this and can't seem to find anyone else with this issue but this deodorant has left me with orangey marks on my clothes and underwear. I never usually have this problem with other deodorant so I am a bit miffed as to why it is happening now, so it is a bit of a negative point for me.
It is on offer in many shops at the moment as it is a new product but in other shops it is retailing for as much as £2.89 which to me I could not justify spending on it. You can often buy two big 250ml cans of other well known brand deodorants for £3 on offer and they do last a long time.
I do like this deodorant as I really think it has the best scent of any other deodorant that I would usually use so I would actively seek out offers on it, but I just could not afford to pay full price for it when it only lasts just over a week. I am not convinced that it really contains as much as a bigger can.
I was given a can of this deodorant by BzzAgent to try for the past two weeks; I'm not normally one to use Dove deodorant, because I'm very set in my ways and use the Garnier antiperspirant. However I decided I'd give this a go, and share with the rest of you - see if I can go some way to persuading you to give this deodorant a go. As surprisingly enough, you might not yet have noticed these in the supermarket, or the Sure and Vaseline versions of the smaller cans.
~*~ Compressed Cans ~*~
Dove, Vaseline and Sure have now decided to make a smaller can of their deodorant with what they claim to be the same amount in. A way to give a little bit back to the environment, and have a little bit more space in your bag; all without compromising on the amount of deodorant you are getting. So they have compressed the can, for a 75ml can - you get the same amount as a 150ml can, but just half the size. It looks the same as the average can, comes in the same variations as the average can, just happens to be a lot smaller.
~*~ I can't say it's saving the environment much... ~*~
These environmentally friendly cans, at half the size of the original are meant to take fewer materials and be easier to recycle - be green and keep your underarms smelling nice! In the past when I've used Dove deodorants in a 150ml can I've found personally that they don't last more than a couple of weeks, so I was interested to see if this would last the same amount of time. I got two cans in my pack, and started straight away using it twice a day - two weeks to the day and well the can is on its way out now. The only reason I can tell that is because it is beginning to struggle to spray out; the problem being picking it up you can't tell if it's nearly empty as it is a very light can already, and the compressed deodorant is apparently even lighter. So for me and my usage it does last as long as the regular can, but definitely not any longer - so I guess it's not going against what it says on the tin.
The Deodorant is exactly the same as the usual, the invisible dry works, I haven't found any white marks on any of my clothing, whether it be the pale blue of my uniform or any of my coloured clothing recently. I'm not entirely sure about the dry part, as because I use perspirex I tend to not get any wetness anyway - but having asked mum to try the deodorant as well on that front, she says that she doesn't get any more or less wetness than usual. I've no extra white marks, even if I have sweated a little on my uniform, and can safely say my mum hasn't either just to corroborate my story! The scent is really quite nice, and it does linger after application - I can spray it in the morning and leave my room and the smell is still there when I get home from work hours later. I can even get changed after using the deodorant and I will still be able to smell it; I have had a few people tell me that I smell nice when I've just been using this and no perfume so it does last for a good couple of hours. It's not a 24 hour deodorant though, definitely not something you could just spray once a day I don't think personally, but it's a good deodorant, if you don't need masses of protection from wetness.
~*~ Price and Availability ~*~
At the moment it is £2.89 in Boots for the 75ml can at the moment, and the original is the same price, but there will be introductory offers for the compressed cans, initially though they were more expensive - which seems daft since you've got a smaller can for more money. Paying a bit more, to save the environment and a little bit of space in your purse... I'm undecided if I think it's a good thing or not, but I will be sticking to my Garnier I think!
