This is the best deodorant I have used, and one I have stuck with for years now. It's great for sensitive skin as it moisturises, and it's very effective in both preventing sweat and having a great scent to cover it up if you do!
I actually can't rate this deodorant highly enough. It does everything you want a deodorant to do, and more.
It keeps you dry and comfortable. I've never experienced any sweaty smells or wet patches under my arms when I've used it. However, instead of being harsh on your underarms, at the same time it actually moisturises them - keeping them nice and soft and smooth.
Like all Dove products, it smells nice too. It isn't fragrance fee, but it isn't overly perfumed like some. It genuinely does smell nice and clean.
Lastly, you can rest assured that your favourite black or coloured top won't come away with any horrible telltale deodorant stains. It's quick drying and simply doesn't leave any marks on your clothes.
Price wise I find it very reasonable. It's no more or less than other deodorants on the market that do the same (but not as good a job) as this one.
When I most recently ran out of my usual deodorant, this Dove Invisible Dry looked like the next-best thing at my local supermarket. I prefer the stick type deodorants, as I prefer the transfer of the actual deodorant onto my skin.
Removing the lid, the appearance of the product is exactly the same as other stick deodorants - a plastic cap protecting the actual stick, which is removed by grabbing a type of fin and pulling out. Underneath that the deodorant is brought into use by twisting the bottom of the unit until it pops out at the top.
The deodorant is white in colour and has a feint smell which although subtle, does have a slight edge to it, difficult to describe. It's a clean smell, with some freshness to it, not especially unpleasant. I had hoped it would smell like Dove soap, but it doesn't resemble that smell at all unfortunately. When applied to the skin, there is no wetness, it maybe feels a little tacky at first, but that soon disappears.
The "invisible dry" claim wasn't a major draw for me, nor have I tried it out with a little black dress, but I have to say that the deodorant definitely scores highly in the anti-perspirant department. In some very humid conditions recently I haven't had any problems with underarm sweating, so it definitely does its job there.
The only downside for me is a fairly big one, when it's working, the smell does intensify, and it does become quite a powerful smell. Again, it's not particularly unpleasant (to others) but equally, it's not really a smell I like either. It's just a bit too strong for me, not what I'm used to.
The cost of the stick was £2.99 which was quite pricey, but it was a convenience store, and I was desperate! I won't be buying again but I can't fault it in terms of its performance. It works both as an anti-perspirant and as a deodorant.
I love this product! All my life I suffered from excessive sweating and feel very self conscious about it. I'd got to the stage where I stopped wearing any colours that would show my underarm sweat patches (especially grey!). All my clothes had developed underarm stains and stiff patches from the seat and copious amounts of ineffective deodourant I was using. Then I tried this.
I wouldn't say that it keeps me totally dry. Forexample if I'm on a packed sweaty train or at the gym then I still get damp armpits but I'm guessing most people would in those situations.
But for everyday wear it is great. I now have a couple of pretty grey tops that I wear without even thinking because I'm not fretting about getting wet patches.
I'm not convinced by the 'no white marks' bit. I do still get minor marks on my clothes but that may be because I do put quite a lot on.
The smell is fresh and doesn't 'change' over the course of the day.
As its small and compact its easy to carry on in your bag although I've never had to apply any extra. One application in the morning seems more than enough.
I have to say I'm not massively fussy about deodorants and tend to pick up whatever when I run out. I usually go for Dove because I like their cream stick deodorants and generally find them kind to skin and purse.
I am usually a little cynical about any new gimmicky products and these 'no white mark' deodorants are no exception. I thought I would give it a go a while back when I was working somewhere that required an all black uniform that I regularly found white marks on. I've actually been pleasantly surprised by this product and here is why.
The deodorant comes in a standard elliptical shaped white plastic tube which winds up at the bottom. It has a frosted plastic lid which fits on easily and the stick inside is shaped to perfectly fit your pits. All good so far. In fact, I really have no objections when it comes to this product's design. I think the look of it is nice, the white and purple colour theme give the impression of a feminine, clean product which does the desired job. More importantly it does the job and I have yet to come across any real issues with this aspect of it.
The stick itself has a very clean and fresh smell to it which is subtle still fairly prominent. It has a creamy and smooth texture which is really soothing especially on shaved or waxed skin. It doesn't flake off of collect into balls like other deodorants I have used. AND it doesn't leave white marks. I've really not had any issues with white marks since using it in fact. Obvious it is still a white deodorant so while you might just rubbing off in the inside of clothes throughout the day this is minimal and I don't find white marks on the outside after putting clothes on like I used to.
This deodorant costs £2.50 from boots and usually lasts me around 4-6 months of use. I tend to put this on between 4-7 days a week depending on what I've got going on and find I only need one application in the morning to keep me going all day.
Overall, a brilliant deodorant that I will continue to buy.
I have a fairly active life, running around all day with work and the kids, so I need an anti persirant deoderant that really works. But I also want one that smells nice and that does not leave marks all over my clothes.
Dove has the added advantage of being kind to skin - and I really find that it is gentle, even when applied to freshly shaved under arms. The scent is a light, slightly floral one - pleasant but not over powering - which lasts all day. The anti perspirant qualities are great - I find it combats dampness and odour really well unless I have been doing something exceptionally energetic, like a gym work out. The creamy texture of the deoderant is pleasant to use, not at all sticky, and dries quickly when applied so there's no need to wait to get dressed.
One added advantage is that it comes in a tube that is less than 100ml, so can be taken on aeroplanes in hand luggage. It lasts for ages, so one bottles will easily last for even the longest holiday
My only moan is that it does leave white marks on black dresses but they do brush off fairly easily.
I bought this recently and think that it is great. I bought it from Sainsbury's, it is easy to get hold of as supermarkets and chemists and some other large stores sell it.
The stick is quite a flat one and made from plastic. It's not an attractive or special looking item but because it's flat it is very comfortable to hold. It is 'invisible dry' which means that you shouldn't get any marks on your little black dress...
To use the stick you take off the lid and twist up the deoderant stick which is very easy to do. I find that one turn of one hundred and eighty degrees is enough stick to last a week or two. The bottom of the stick is what you twist to get it to go up.
Just one or two wipes under the arms is enough for this to apply enough coverage to last you. The deoderant comes off easily but isn't grainy. It is dry so it's not damp, you don't need to wait for it to dry you can just put your clothes straight on.
I did, however, notice that it does still leave little marks on clothes if you're not careful so it being black dress friendly isn't 100% accurate as far as I am concerned.
The smell is a fresh, slightly floral one which isn't very strong and perfectly pleasant.
I find that just applying this once a day is enough to last and keep any body odurs away. I am really pleased with it, even when I have had an active day I haven't noticed any smells nor have I felt the need to reapply it.
I am very pleased with this. I like how it lasts all day, it's easy to use and the smell isn't too strong but still effective. It is a shame that it still leaves white marks though.
I am not loyal to any one particular deodorant brand or type, but there are a few that I tend to stick to - and Dove Deoderant Invisible Dry Stick. I do usually prefer aerosol deodorants, but the one time I will choose a stick is when I'm going on holiday as it takes up considerably less room in the case! I picked up Dove Deoderant Invisible Dry Stick recently for just £2.50 from Boots which I think is a really good competitive price and although not the cheapest stick deodorant on the market, it is also no where near the most expensive!
The Dove Deoderant Invisible Dry Stick is very compact, being just 9cm in height and about 3 cm in width - and therefore if you're travelling it takes up very little room and as it is lightweight it doesn't significantly contribute to your weight allowance. The stick is enclosed within a plastic outer casing which has a twirly up and down mechanism at the bottle of the casing so that you can make the stick comes out - or goes back into the casing depending on what you want. There is then a small plastic pull off and push on lid that covers the deodorant stick when it is not in use.
The stick itself is white and it is not heavily fragranced although there is a slightly soapy smell to it - but this is not overpowering in any way. When it is applied to my underarms, it is initially slightly wet, but dries within about a minute - and doesn't leave any residue or stains on my clothes. I generally find that it keeps me smelling nice and fresh for about 8 - 10 hours - after which I need to wash and reapply.
It's a good little product and while I still prefer the aerosols, I will continue to use this when I'm traveling.
Dove is a brand which I have now settled on as my every day deodorant. As I regularly wear black tops I need to have a deodorant which won't leave me with unsightly white marks all over my armpits, which is why I first started using this deodorant. This stick can be brought for £1.42 in Tesco, and is occasionally on offer, which can be very handy.
The stick comes in an oval shaped tube, which is white. It has a translucent lid and a the bottle few cm's of the tube turn, allowing you to twist up the deodorant inside. This is extremely handy as it means the deodorant which hasn't been used yet is kept fresh and clean. The lid means that it is airtight and you know that your stick won't dry out.
The deodorant doesn't have a very strong smell at all, it's very subtle. It's a pleasant scent, and slightly synthetic, but not one which I can put my finger on entirely. It's a fresh cotton-like scent, but isn't very strong at all.
To apply the deodorant you simply wind the stick up and rub it over your armpit. I fit that a few rubs is more than enough and you can just see a thin layer on your skin. I usually wait a few minutes for the deodorant to settle before I put a top on, especially if the top in question is black! I have had a few time when the deodorant has rubbed off on my top, but this was down to it being freshly applied and not because of sweating.
As an antiperspirant I have found this to be very good. I do a lot of walking, usually quite a few miles a day, and even if I'm feeling like I'm quite hot and bothered under my arms stays dry and fresh. On the odd occasion when I have done an excessive amount of exercise I have found that I have been a tiny bit sweaty, but never very much.
This deodorant is definitely something I would recommend. It stops the horrible white marks on clothes and works very well as controlling sweat - especially if you do regular exercise. I'm extremely glad I found this deodorant and will continue to use it for a very long time!
I have been looking for a deodorant that keeps away those annoying white marks for some time now so was delighted to find this Dove Invisible Dry Stick Deodorant. I picked this up for just under £2 from my local supermarket, but its widely sold in all supermarkets and places like boots.
Dove brand has always given me the impression of reliable and effective products so i was kinda dissapointed with this product. The packaging is great, nice secure top with plenty of instructions and a simple yet effective design. It also claims thats its 24hr and black dress approved - yeah right! but ill go into that later. The deodorant itself easily slides up with a turn on the bottom lever and doesnt come up too quick which is always great as i have found many overflow with just a slight movement of the lever. Its really a decent size for the money you pay!
When you remove the lid, a wonderful fresh, soapy smells hits you straight away and really gives you that refreshing, clean feel. When applying, its very smooth and glides along your armpits great, not scratching them in any way as some have done in the past for me. The smell that it leaves you with is instantly recognisable as the 'Dove' smell but thats not a problem. Your armpits are given a very smooth textured feel which is always a bonus.
However, it does come out pretty thick and tends to clog up in some places during application so you might have to pick bits off or try to smooth it out a little. Annoying when your in a rush! It does tend to get abit sticky, especially if you put on too much so don't expect it to dry quickly because it takes forever. I usually apply this, then dry my hair and my hairs thick but still its very sticky. The worst feature about this product is its ability to show up on every item of clothing you wear, not just the 'black dress' you may come across. Its not just faintly either, its very noticeable if you get your clothes caught up with it. Black items are an absoloutely nightmare though and no matter how long you wait or scrub your top, its not coming off!
The last positive thing i have to say is that it does last the '24hrs' as it states. It does prevent the sweating and even if you do, exchanges it for a nice soapy smell so never be afrai here, its very reliable in this aspect so for this reason i only use it when im not wearing dark colours!
I use Dove deodorants a lot because my armpits flare up very badly after shaving, and they need all the moisturiser they can get! I use the ordinary Dove roll-ons, but I like this one because the product is quite thick, you can 'feel' it going on to your skin, and you can really tell it's got moisturiser in it from its consistency.
You have to be careful not to plaster it on, to avoid white marks, but I've not had many problems with it getting on my clothes. It does work well, I don't have any sweat problems while using it, and it seems to last all day (12 hours or so).
The deodorant stick is pushed up by a twisting mechanism at the base of the container, which is quite a 'cool' idea - the packaging is pretty original - but each twist is a fixed amount and you can sometimes push too much out of the packaging. Also, the cream is very thick and spreads out when you roll it on your skin, and the lid can sometimes carve the edges off of it when you replace the lid after use. The cream stick itself is really good, but the packaging isn't brilliant.
It's about the same price as other branded deodorants, and lasts for a very long time - so it's good value.
Dove deodorant stick - basic information:
- hard thick deodorant that you use by twisting the base
- product mechanism works well: twisty bit at bottom has never broken and I've never had the experience of the deodorant crumbling or brekaing
I've used this product for years now and I'll never go back to anything else. Firstly: because a stick is just my idea of underarm heaven (well, if underarm heaven existed!) It goes on dry and smoothly; although the product is thick it doesn't drag against your skin, and there is no wetness (and flapping of the arms!!) afterwards. Perfect. Secondly: this stays dry. I guess with deodorant one can get quite attached: if it works, I don't want to try something else on a whim and get caught in a sticky position. I can tell you that this works well.
There are some particularly hot days - living in London especially - when it's summer, I have to run for the bus, then catch a tube, and end up at work a bit sticky. I would never negotiate on keeping a small bottle of deodorant in my bag. But that's a pretty exceptional case. I've very rarely been caught out with this hard-working deodorant.
Just one word of caution though: don't believe the hype around the white marks. You'll still get white marks and in my opinion are no worse than what you'd get *with other sticks*. I do think the white marks are less noticeable than, for example, using a spray, but then I suppose that's common sense and down to format. This is a cream based product so obviously if you put it on and then put on a black top straight away you will get residue.
Having not really used other deodorants for a while now, I can't say too much about the beautiful underarm story. My underarms aren't bad, but then I don't look at them as my selling point. Certainly I never get any stinging though even if I shave and then put this on straight away.
For me: I just want it to keep sweat marks at bay, and it does that well.
I gave Dove deoderant a go after spotting it in my sister's bathroom. I had never been a fan of stick type deoderants but after my sister saying how lovely it was I decided to give it a go and I haven't looked back. The deoderant glides on smoothly and with no effort at all. Other advantages are that it doesn't leave your underarms feeling sticky which is something I hate and being a sufferer of dry skin the creamy texture of the stick leaves your underarms feeling moisturised. As well as being a very good effective deoderant, it really doesn't leave white marks on dark clothes. I tend to only wear black clothes and have never had a problem with this deoderant leaving marks. The deoderant itself comes in a slim applicator, so it doesn't take up too much space on the bathroom shelf. The applicator has a twisty bottom so that you can wind the stick up as and when you need to and most important the price is competitive with other brands.
I have to say that this deoderant does exactly what it says on the tin. It deoderises and it dries quickly and does not leave white marks like some of the other ones that I have tried.
The smell is not as attractive as some of the other deoderants that dove have in their range though. The fragrance is quite dull, almost boring and for that reason I would prefer it if they had more of these kinds of sticks with more different scents.
The way that it is designed however is brilliant. The bottle is slighly curved making it very easy to hold and to apply the deoderant. This is something that you take for granted until you try this deoderant.
This deoderant also leaves your arms incredibly soft and will not dry out your armpits like some deoderants may do. For this reason it is especially good if you shave your armpits regularly.
I have to be honest - I only actually ended up trying this deodorant because my usual one was out of stock at the chemist and this was the nearest alternative. Call it serendipity if you will....
Anyway, I've used the original Dove stick deodorant for years, and am fiercely loyal to it (but that's another review for another time!). I really do hate any form of spray or roll-on deodorant, and most of the other stick deodorants I've tried are too crumbly or a strange shape, but the Dove stick type has always suited me very well.
So....onto the Dove Invisible Dry stick deodorant. I was intrigued to try it, as I'd long felt that the Original Dove stick would be perfect if only it didn't leave those flipping white marks everywhere.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that Dove Invisible Dry had most of the advantages of Dove Original (great shape, really fits the armpit so it can be applied with just one stroke), nice smooth texture, leaves me feeling dry and fresh but not sticky like so many other deodorants (although possibly fractionally less so than Dove Original).
And it really doesn't leave white marks!
On the downside, I don't like the smell as much as that of the Original stick and, combined with the slightly stickier feeling, that will probably mean I'll return to Dove Original as my regular deodorant - but I'll certainly continue to use Invisible Dry when it's a special occasion and I'm wearing a black top or dress!
Antiperspirant -anti white marks!
