“ Brand: Dove / Type: Deodorant / Suitable for: Body „
I've found that overall the Dove roll-on's are particularly good. Admittedly I'm not the sweatiest of people, but I do still need to know that when THAT moment hits I'm not going to need to worry about it.
I've tried a variety of them and they all seem to work the same. I tend to shower at night and because I'm forgetful, and because Dove Deodorants suit this trick I tend to use it straight after, just before I go to bed and I don't need to reapply it until my next shower (showers are frequent, by the way!!). The only complaint in this respect would be that the more 'neutral' ones tend to be slightly strong when first applied so can put my partner off bed-time cuddles! Not because it's a bad scent, I hasten to add, just a little strong if your nose is too close!!
All the varieties of perfumed ones are nice, I particularly like citrus scents - but don't expect it to work as a perfume! After all, your armpit will hide it unless you walk around with your arms up in the air!!
They last a good length of time and aren't too pricey, especially if you're not too proud to mooch about in Poundland occasionally as you'll sometimes find them there.
I bought Dove - go fresh cool waterlily and freshmint scent anti-perspirant deodorant, I don't like Dove soap in general as my skin doesn't like it, and it makes my skin feel quite dry and tight. I didn't buy this because it was Dove, it was on offer and I needed a deodorant, this what I picked up.
The can is 150mls, and it narrows slightly at the top, there is a pretty picture of a blue waterlily with green mint leaves on the front. On the back it states 48 hour protection - definitely. The crisp, nature-inspired scent of cool waterlily and fresh mint - absolutely. So with a refreshingly light sensation for your underarms, you can now feel fresh and clean all day long! Wake up, go fresh.
I will admit the scent it very fresh and delicate if not a little soapy. The lid is a dome shaped plastic cap which is light blue, once you remove that, the area to press has a big blue soft squidgy pad on it, which is a good indication for those who don't know how to use an aerosol. Although I cannot agree or disagree that you get 48 hours of protection with this, I tend to wear it one day, then have a bath then reapply it the following day, I haven't not showered for two days to test that claim, when it is on, it does work very well. The scent stays a long time as well, it is very florally and feminine which I did like. On the back it does give you ingredients and instructions on how to use this, it says to hold can 15cm away from your underarm before spraying. I did find with this (I am unsure whether this is due to spraying too close) but it did leave a white powdery residue everywhere after spraying. If I sprayed and put my arm down straight away I was left with a roll of perspirant under my arm, which wasn't nice or attractive. Due to this I do prefer to use roll ons as this doesn't happen with them.
I am truly a fan of Dove products in general, which ranges from bar soap, bodywash, handwash, lotion, hair products and deodorants. So when it comes to deodorant , Dove are my favorite by far. Deodorant is part of my daily routine so I definitely use someone I trust. Dove have gone to different fragrances and varieties like sprays, sticks and roll-ons. I personally prefer roll on but I also tried stick and the spray type which is great during summer.
Dove was introduced in the UK in the 1990s. Then followed the launch of more bathtime treats like beauty baths and moisturizing body washes. In 2001 Dove made its first foray into antiperspirant deodorant lines then Hair care products soon followed in 2003.
Roll on - minimising nature fresh, minimising wild rose, original, silk dry, invisible dry, pro age antiperpirant.
I have tried minimising nature and invisible dry which I'm currently using and even it was a little bit wet on application, it gets dry easily. It has a fairly neutral 'clean' smell to me which is not strong. As for the white marks, I think it definitely works for me as I have not noticed it leaving any white marks on my clothes.
Stick - original, maximum protection, silky dry and invisible dry.
I have tried Dove Original Anti-perspirant deodorant. The application was fairly neat, just twist the thing at the bottom of the product then wipe it on your underarm. It does have a really nice smell which other might find it too overwhelming. Deodorant sticks has a 1/4 moisturisers to give you soft, smooth underarm.
Spray - minimising nature fresh, minimising silk lily, minimising wild rose, original, sensitive, silky dry and go fresh energise.
I went for original as I really like this scent. It has a very light fresh and clean smell. This one also works well with me and I never felt sweaty or uncomfortable during the time I used it. It is a cool and refreshing application that provides long lasting protection.
Roll on - £1.50
Stick - £1.99
Spray - £2 / 150 ml
Dove claims to last 24 hrs, but if you sweat a lot , you might need to reapply if you are heading out towards the evening. I do find that it lasts longer compared to other brand I have tried. It is also gentle to my skin which is important as I have a dry sensitive skin. I currently use the invisible dry roll on and find it very effective and dry very quickly. The invisible dry works well with me, it does keep me dry and doesn't leave any nasty white marks. The size of this product makes it very handy which makes it easier for me to carry anywhere, specially now, that summer is just around the corner.
Overall I would certainly recommend these product. Dove deodorants provide a variety of range that will suit your needs and preferences. It comes in a very easy to carry around bottle. They are also good to your skin as they moisturize your underarms, and it doesn't sting after shaving. A great product that provide a long lasting protection that leaves you feeling fresh and dry all day.
Thank you for reading ;-D
This is a review of the Original Dove Anti Perspirant deodorant in a 150ml aerosol spray.
I saw this on offer for 97p per can in Sainsburies last week and I am getting a bit tired of using Sure Crystal deodorants as their performance is just not that great so I thought I would try the Dove Orignal deodorant for a change.
The product comes in a white can with the distinctive Dove logo on and it has a see through small blue cap. I love how the button you push is made from soft blue rubber. It is different to other deodorants and does make you go "oh..." when you realise it has a soft comfortable to use button! So I like the attention to detail here.
The can looks like it has been around for a good few years. I know Mr Norton likes Dove deodorants so I was confident it would smell nice and stop the after shave rash and dreaded armpit dampness that can strike at any moment- especially if I have just walked to work. The can is quite small for the price- I would not have paid £1.98 for this as it does look as if it should be 99p. The main claims of this on the can are 0% alcohol and 24 hour protection, also for smooth skin after shaving as it "is the only deodorant with Dove 1/4 moisturising cream".I am not sure how exactly they get moisture cream into a deodorant spary.
The first thing I noticed after using this is the smell. It has the very distinctive Dove scent. This is quite talc like and a bit of a linen/ powder trype of scent. It is the same smell as Dove soap so it does smell like soap, but this is the "Dove" smell that all their products I have tried have.
So, does it stop perspiration? Well, I first used this just after I had bought it and had walked about 1.5 miles around town very quickly at lunchtime so I was a bit hot and bothered when I applied it, I liked the fresh smell, but found it did not stop me getting damp underarm patches and I had to re-apply this around an hour later. I put this down to the fact I was all clammy when I applied it- so when I used the deodorant the next day in the morning when I had not been rushing around.
But, by the time I had walked to work, I found I needed to re-apply the deodorant. So, for me it does not last 24 hours as the can claims. But, what I did notice is the smell does mask odours. I started to dislike Sure Crystal as I found the smell did not mask odour- so not only was I sat in a very hot office feeling a little damp and being conscious of not lifting my arms, but I could smell to my horror that I was becoming "a bit stinky" on one afternoon and all I had was a can of Sure Crystal in my bag that seemed to be doing NOTHING. But the Dove scent does take prominence over you being a bit stinky after a hectic day rushing around. So, in my experience it will not stop you sweating, but it will mask the odour.
The can does not mention no white marks, but I did not notice any white marks on my clothes. Nor did it turn to talc on my skin and flake off like a snow fall all down my clothes as the similarly scented Imperial Leather deodorant used to do. Also a few hours after applying this deodorant, you can still smell its scent which is like Dove soap so you smell freshly showered.
The downsides are it did not stop the dampness/ sweating- especially after any short burst of excercise. Some people may not like the smell as it is very soapy and a bit like talc so this might clash with your perfume in some instances. You may just not want to smell of soap. It is also overpriced for the small 150ml can. I think this should be £1 full price and not £1.98.
The plus sides are it looks clean and fresh- the white can with simple design. I love the soft rubbery button on the spray. The spray is easy to use and not too cold to apply! It also did not hurt my underarms when I have used this after shaving. And the scent does mask odours and it does linger on your skin.
So, if you find you only need a light deodorant as you rarely perspire to the point your clothes have wet marks on the underarms- then this is ideal for you (if you don't mind the price and like the Dove soap smell). If you go to the gym or walk to work or do any sort of excercise and tend to get damp patches on your clothes if your deodorant is not up to scratch then I would avoid this. I find the best deodorant for me is the Sanex range as it works better than even the Mitchum 48 hour super anti dryness deodorants, but maybe the effect differs person to person. But I would recommend Sanex over Dove.
I wore dove deodorant for a few years before moving onto mitchum, and I have to say, the years I spent wearing dove I was constantly paranoid that I would end up sweating so much I'd have patches or smell. I wasn't impressed with the overall result of the product, and would apply twice daily to make myself feel more confident.
The good bits?
Dove deodorant does smell nice, it has a feminine scent and it does make you feel more moisturised under the arms. It does stop the skin from looking rough and getting sore. I did like the fact that it does dry at a good speed and that you can get dressed soon after. I do prefer the roll on deodorants in the range as they are more effective.
Doesn't last as well as I would like, I only sweat like the average person and found if I did any exercise I would end up sweating. I didn't feel confident using the product asI don't want to end up with sweat patches on my blouse, but Dove does sometimes let you down and you end up perspiring.
I have been using these deodorants for a number of years now and have tried various different types within the range.
I currently use the invisible dry roll on. I find all the roll on ones go on really easily and dry very quickly as well. The lid of this product is also what you stand it on which is great because it means that the deodorant comes out really easily when you want to apply it. With other brands I found I had to shake them when they were getting towards the needing replacing point.
The invisible dry works well - it does keep you dry and doesn't leave any nasty white marks on your clothes which is brilliant for me because most of my wardrobe consists of black black and more black! There isn't much of a smell to this deodorant which doesn't bother me, but other people may prefer one with more of a fragrance.
An advantage of Dove deodorants is that they don't sting when you have shaved your armpits!
I have tried other varieties of the roll on, but much prefer this one. I have also tried the spray type of deodorant which is good in the summer time to stop your clothes from sticking to your back.
I have been using Dove Roll-on Deodorants for years. I am someone who suffers from excessive sweating, so I've tried a lot of different brands including Mitchum and Sure, which I had little success with. I even tried Dove deodorant stick, which is more cream based, after recommendations, but I didn't find it that effective. Since I discovered Dove roll-on, I have not looked at a different brand.
The packaging has undergone a recent redesign, which looks pretty cute. It's small enough that it is easy to carry around in your bag, which is important if you're like me, and need to bring deodorant with you if you know you're going to be away for the night, and don't want to lug around a big spray bottle.
I use the Invisible Dry option, which is anti-white marks. Actually, I've never had a problem with any Dove roll-ons leaving a residue, but I particularly like the smell of this scent, which is light and clean smelling. The cucumber scent is also pretty nice.
Roll-ons typically take a little longer to dry, but I think they last longer. Dove claims to last 24 hrs, but if you sweat a lot like me, you might need to reapply it if you're heading out for the evening. I do find that it lasts a lot longer than the other deodorants I've tried.
I like Dove deodorants , they are so simple .The last one i bought was a Dove original antiperspirant, anti transpirant ( yes i know i didn't know what that meant either )
Dove 50 ml original 24 h Roll on produced by Unilever, it comes in a tear shaped blue and white bottle which has the Dove logo in a gold leaf. The deodorant lid is actually the base which you twist open and shut to access the deodorising ball.Unlike many antiperspirants Dove Original has a 0% alcohol content so it is kinder on the skin.like all other Dove products it has built in moisturiser.
Does it do what it says on the bottle ? The answer is yes, it does stop you from perspiring, and has a pleasant clean fragrance that lasts for a good twelve hours.t doesn't leave unpleasant white stains on your clothes and after you have applied it isn't sticky.

If you like to be kind to your skin and enjoy the feeling of constant moisturization as well as deodorizing protection then this dove deodorant is the way to go.it does give 24hour protection, and doesn't leave unpleasant white marks on your clothes either.Reasonably priced at £1.29 a good buy.
I have to say I am a fan of Dove in general, I love the soap, its the only one I have ever used which doesn't completely dry my skin out, and Dove deodorants are my favourite by miles!
I have been using Dove deodorants for years, probably since I was about 14, Ive tried alot in their range, from the original roll on to the 'Go Fresh' sprays and have liked them all.
I do, however always come back to the original roll on, I just love it! It is so gentle on my skin which is the most important thing for me as I have quite dry sensitive skin and I find I can even use this after shaving.
The roll on costs around £1.50 and can often be found 2 for 1 in wilkos so I generally stock up when Im in there! I also keep an 'Invisible Dry' spray bottle in my drawer just incase I run out!
The roll on smells really nice, an almost clean and fresh smell. It drys really quickly and it has NEVER left any white marks on my clothes.
It lasts all day as well and I wont go into it too much but I sweat quite alot and Dove deodorants are the only ones that seem to control this really well! Bet your glad I told you that!!
The roll on is a really handy size as well and is very useful to take travelling as it fits in cosmetic bags easily.
I do want to try the hair minimising one next but I have read reviews that its not so good, which upsets me as Im such a Dove fan! Oh well, they can't be perfect all the time and as they always seem to be bringing new ranges out, such as the 'Pro Age' range Im sure they will stay ahead of their competitors.
Overall I would say that Dove deodorants are brilliant, they leave skin soft, they don't sting after shaving, they never leave white marks and they last all day, what more can you want from a deodorant?!
Being a fan of Dove products in general, Dove's range of deodorants are usually my first choice when it comes to buying deodorants.
I first bought the 'original' deodorant in both roll-on and spray and was very impressed with them both, though I tend to use the spray deodorants the most.
Since the original Dove deodorant first became available, they have gone on to produce other fragrances, the most recent being the Go Fresh range, such as Cucumber and Green Tea, Grapefruit and Lemon and Cool Waterlily.
I have tried all these and whilst I like them, I tend to go back to buying the original or the 'Silk Dry' fragrance, as these are my favourite fragrances from the range.
All of the fragrances I would describe as 'light and fresh', nothing too heavy or overpowering, and feel both fresh and cool on your skin.
What I like most about Dove deodorant is that they are gentle but effective.
The spray is easy to use and requires no great effort to press it down, unlike some I have tried, which has made me wonder how older people or people with limited hand movement would manage to spray them.
The deodorant also has a decent direct spray, and doesn't come flying out in all directions which is such a waste.
Another important factor for me is I like to use a deodorant which doesn't send a shower of white spray out onto your skin, thus marking your clothes, and I find this has never happened to me whilst I have been using Dove.
Another bonus is you can safely use Dove after shaving under your arms, without the dreaded sting!
Although Dove is gentle I still find it gives me maximum protection and lasts well. I recently tried Nivea deodorant when it was on promotion, as I quite like Nivea, but found it nowhere near as good as Dove. The fragrance was ok but the protection it offered was poor, so it was back to Dove for me and I am going to stick with it!
I stock up on Dove deodorant when it is on promotion, as regularly features in supermarket promotions, either at a reduced price or a 3 for 2 offer.
You can expect to pay anything from 99p to £1.89 for the regular size.
I was in my local Home Bargains yesterday and noticed they are selling the handy travel size (35ml) of Dove deodorants, including the Go Fresh range and my favourite Silk Dry fragrance for only 19p each!
These are ideal for taking away with you, or just to pop in your handbag, so I stocked up on quite a few of these while they are available.
So get yourself to Home bargains if you want to take advantage of these handy-sized bargains!
The only good thing that I've experienced since going through the menopause is that I don't perspire much under the arms - ha!
Dove deodorants suit me fine as they are gentle yet effective.
I have used loads of different anti- perspirants over the years such as Imperial leather, Right Guard etc plus shop brands such as Boots plus expensive ones which have been given to me in gift sets.
I don't know what it is about deodorants but I've never found one that is just right but Dove spray-on deodorants have come near.
What am I talking about?
well here are some examples you'll be able to relate to?
- I've found all roll-on dedorants are too sticky and I have to use talc afterwards as I hate the effect
- I've experienced the same with stick deodorants plus they tend to dry up after a while
- some leave white 'talc' type debris everywhere it's a swine to clear up off carpet
- some leave marks on your clothes
- some are too weak
- some are too strong
- some smell nasty
One day I found Dove deodorant spray for sale in our local Pound shop so thought I'd give it a try.
I was pleasantly surprised
- it has a nice fresh but light fragrance
- it doesn't mark your clothes if you leave if for a couple of minutes
- it works without leaving the white stuff
- the spray comes out well - not like a jet-wash
- it doesn't clog up with gunge
If I was ever going to run a marathon I'd probably use Right Guard as it is stronger, but Dove spray deodorant does the job for me!
After seeing adverts on TV I thought that I would give this ago. I've not got dry or sentive skin and no problems in that region, think that was probably down to the moisturising cream that was in it. I was quite surprised that it did last all day and that I still felt dry (no horrible smells here). What I didn't like about this though was that it left white lines on my t-shirt so know I have to wait 5 minutes or so before I can finish getting dressed. I will continue to use this until it runs out but won't bother again.
I am usually hard to please when it comes to deodorants. But I got this one when I bought some dove soap recently. It was a free sample. I tried it when I got home and I was very shocked at the results. It has a moisturiser built in with it and really made my skin feel soft after using it. It also has a very pleasant smell and I only needed to use it the once like my normal deodorant and not several times like others. It doesn't appear to be powdery or over powering but just right. I am not sure of the price as I got this one free but I think I will definately purchase it if the price is right in the future.
I bought Dove anti perspirant after a friend recommended it. It sounded good as it contained moisturiser and I already used the soap which I liike very much. It didn't work for me though. It left white marks, made my skin itch and didn't seem very effective as an antiperspirant or deodorant. It isn't perfumed so I couldn't even say it had a nice smell. I wasn't sure that is was working at all and that doesn't do much for one's confidence! I didn't feel at all happy about using it so I won't be buying it again.
I agree about the stains that it leaves, I was more surprised that I did actually perspire so much considering their claims on the adverts. I was wearing a brand new top and i cant get the stain out. The other problem I found was that if I was wearing a black top, when I took it off there was white all over it, which I thought would be avoided as I wasn't using a spray deodrant. The only deodrant I have found that does not stain at all is mum in sunburst, it only smells slightly and its my favourite - I hope this helps someone.
