As it was on offer at super drug for 89 pence. I bought this thinking it was cheap and can't be that bad considering it is Dove! I loved it the moment I tried it. It smells so refreshing, t doesn't feel heavy under the arms or anything. Very natural feeling. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it bubbled up on my skin the moment I applied it. I'm not too sure if that is normal but after a couple of seconds it dried up and felt and looked very natural. I will definitely buy it again. I do find that I have to apply it a few times during the day but I don't mind. The bottle is small enough for me to throw in my bag and its lightweight so can't complain really. I really love it, I'm surprised I didn't try it before! If it is on offer next time I visit my local super drug, I'll stock up!! one hundred percent recommendation. The pomegranate one smells great too.
I started using this deodorant a few years ago and alternate between this one, and one of the other Dove Go Fresh range - the Cucumber and Green Tea. The antiperspirant comes in a 50ml roll-on but the same range is available in a spray. It costs about £1.50-£2 but is often on offer so I don't usually pay more than £1 because I buy several when they're on offer and are usually on offer once every few months. They're sold in most supermarkets and make-up stores like Boots and Superdrug.
The deodorant itself is really nice. It works really well which is why I have stuck with it for the last few years. It smells lovely, although I personally prefer the Cucumber one, but I like to alternate. It's a subtle smell too which is good because if you use perfume or body spray, the deodorant isn't over powering. It does leave white marks on clothes if you get dressed whilst it's still wet but I haven't found this is much of a problem because it dries fairly quickly.
I know deodorant is a very personal thing and this is the one for me. I would definitely recommend it because it works, it's cheaper and it smells nice.
==Price and Availability==
It was my Mum who picked me up a Dove Go Fresh Grapefruit and Lemongrass Roll On a couple of months ago when it was on offer at Morrisons. I love anything citrus so she knew this was a safe bet with me. I think the price two roll on for £2 however usually it retails for about £1.50 but the price does vary from place to place and is really only something I'd buy on offer as these sort of products are often available for good reductions.
The packaging for the roll in is white and yellow; it's very simple and very fresh which matches well with the branding of the product. The body of the roll on which holds the deodorant is white and this sits upside down on the pastel yellow lid, the packaging clearly displays the Dove logo and also has a cut open grapefruit and sprig of lemongrass on it. The lid screws on and off and is securely fitted, I wouldn't have any problems putting this is my bag. As the roll on sits upside down it's very easy to use as the deodorant naturally falls towards the roller ball and means it's easily dispensed and easy to use it right to the end.
On unscrewing the lid there's a nice subtle citrus scent which is quite calming but at the same time has a bit of a kick to it. As I roll the deodorant on the smell definitely becomes more dominant, it's very fresh and smells lovely. The deodorant isn't that thick but it's a good consistency and stays well on my skin whilst it's drying, I found the deodorant dries quite quickly as appose to some others I've used which have been overly gloopy and taken an age to dry. I'm left feeling fresh all day when using Dove Go Fresh however I have to say the scent does fade a lot after the first couple of hours which I found a bit disappointing. I found the deodorant nice and soft on my skin even after shaving.
Overall, Dove Go Fresh Grapefruit and Lemongrass has a lovely fragrance, is quick drying and easy to use. It is nice and fresh but I have to say I felt a bit let down as I love the fragrance but it fades so much quite quickly, it's still a good deodorant though.
For a while I have been looking for a roll on that does not leave white marks on my clothes and have been disappointed, especially when I spend more money on likes of 'sure' thinking that more I paid for product, better results. Well how wrong I was.
While shopping in Tesco I stood for a while in the aisle where antiperspirants were. In the past I have tried sprays, but even though they felt nice and gave a nice smell after a whole day, the small sweat patches were visible. So it was 'no' to that. I have also tried antiperspirant sticks which worked really well but have left me white marks on my clothes no matter how hard I tried to put them on without touching my underarms. So the next thing was a roll on.
I like dove as shower gel so I have decided to try it as a roll on. It was hard to choose which scents to go for, but have opted for Dove Go Fresh Grapefruit and Lemongrass as I was using at the time Dove Go Fresh Energise Body Wash with Grapefruit and Lemongrass. Still sceptical about white marks and claim that it works for 24hours I didn't have high hopes for this one either.
How wrong I was. Firstly it does look quite cute and small in white, with yellow lid bottle. Secondly, when you apply it, it does smell refreshing and it does not take long to dry, so I was able to put on my clothes on very quickly after applying the roll on. Also to my amazement it did not leave any marks on my tops and at the same time it did not feel sticky on my skin either. I do hate when you cna feel the roll on that you are wearing because of being sticky. So, the only thing to test was how good it works and how long it stays on. And I have to say that it worked really well for me. And yes over 24 hours no sweat patches at all, and that is in 35 degrees! I was amazed.
So, now I am sticking to Dove Go Fresh Roll On all the time. I might try other scents too. Oh, and as for the price...it is much cheaper than some other brands that I have tried in the past. It is just under £2 in Tesco but I do buy it when on special offers like at the moment £1 in Tesco.
Deodorants are a necessity for all of us but I find it impossible to find the right one for me and I have no idea why.
Anyway, on my last visit to Boots I picked up a couple of Dove deodorants (two different scents so some of this may be repeated). I chose Dove quite simply because it's become a household name and is known not only for the quality of their products but also for being gentle on skin. This review is for their grapefruit and lemongrass roll on.
I've stopped describing packaging in most my reviews but this I feel is especially well designed so deserves a mention.
This deodorant stands on it's lid. I like this in most products but especially roll on deodorants as it means you can get every last drop out.
The tub (for lack of a better word to describe it!) is quite thick at the bottom. About the size of your average ball on a roll on but very thin at the bottom. Whilst at first glance this does seem to be a strange shape it does mean that it fits in your hand very easily when using it, it seems almost a natural fit in my hand. The lid is yellow which corresponds with the scent.
The label on the front tells me that this provides 24hour protection and 0% alcohol. Now I'll admit to not knowing too much when it comes to ingredients for things like this but the ingredients do list benzyl alcohol so maybe this is a bit misleading. I do realise that benzyl alcohol is produced by plants but it's still an alcohol right?
These roll ons from Dove seem to have strange names for their scents. I guess grapefruit and lemongrass isn't as strange as it could be but the smell is more citrussy then anything else so a name around that would make more sense to me but never mind.
When I first rolled it on, it smelt fairly strongly of citrus. I wouldn't say it was either grapefruit or lemongrass, just generally citrus. The scent settled quickly though and wasn't very strong at all.
I never seem to learn. I know applying deodorant after shaving stings, yet I do it every single day without fail. Therefore, a deodorant that can ideally remove this problem completely or at the very least reduce it is essential for me. I was pleasantly surprised that this deodorant didn't sting at all, even when used immediately after shaving.
It rolled on easily being damp but not too wet and drying almost immediately. The ball didn't stick and rolled across my skin with no problems even as I came to the end of the tub.
My days vary, I work from home so some days I'm pretty inactive. Other days I'm rushed off my feet and busy from the minute I get up to the minute I go to sleep. This deodorant coped really well no matter what my day was like.
The scent however didn't last longer then a few minutes, but even after the scent ran out I was left dry and feeling fresh. There's nothing more embarrassing then wet patches under the arms of my t-shirt, fortunately I didn't find that at all with this.
It also didn't mark my tops no matter how dark they were, this goes for the inside as well as the outside.
It also didn't irritate my skin at all, even when I'd damaged it shaving.
It's not the solution I've been looking for as the scent didn't last and I prefer those that do. Therefore, I am going to give it just 4 out of 5 and recommend it if you don't mind the scent not lingering, this is the only fault I can find though so all in all, it's not a bad product at all.
Price And Availability
As I said, I bought mine from Boots and a 50ml roll on cost £2.15 but it is widely available from chemists and supermarkets. As with anything though prices do vary so shop around.
Going to my parents to stay with my flatmate and my hamster, Colin over the Christmas period meant I had so much to take into their small home. We had clothes and gifts and allsorts and so I decided to take as small stuff toiletry wise with me as possible....well I thought it would help slightly as I have no usual concept of travelling light in that department!
I usually use a spray on deodorant but when I spotted this dinky little roll on style from a brand I trust, on offer for 99p in Asda and in a fragrance I liked the sniff of in the store I picked one up to try out!
The roll on comes in white and yellow with a twist on/off yellow plastic cap/lid to the bottom of it concealing a transparent but rather large in diamater roller ball which you apply the deodeorant with of course to your armpits with.
On the front of it we are told that it is Dove (the usual silver Dove emblemn is shown under that), 'Go Fresh' Grapefruit & Lemongrass Scent, 24h, 0% alcohol Anti-Perspirant and there is a small picture depicted of a slice of what I think is grapefruit and some lemongrass. On the back of the deodorant other information lists ingredients and the size is stated which in this case is 50ml and contact details for the manufacturer are given. Nice, neat little product this is, plain but smart and suitable in appearance for men and women alike.
The Deodorant Itself:
Well this is a great little deodorant to be fair to it! It goes on slightly wet with a somewhat creamy looking residue in part and dries in seconds leaving absoloutely no residue behind it at all and then you can dress with confidence almost immedietely after applying it and forget it is there completely.
The rollerball moves with ease at any angle which is brilliant and lets off a light but very natural fragrance of sweet grapefruit and lemongrass as it applies to the skin. This really is a light fragrance and barely detectable unless you really sniff for it.
This deodorant really works though! It gives me clean feeling armpits that feel smooth and comfortable and above all sweat smell free for at least 24hrs!
A little of it goes a very long way indeed and at usually about £1.50 a time (and in a spray formula too) this is really nice buy!
Available in all good chemists and supermarkets etc and in different fragrances too.

I am a big fan of the Dove Go Fresh range, and have used all three deodorants. The deodorants are:
- Waterlily and Spearmint
- Cucumber and Green Tea
- Grapefruit and Lemongrass
My favourite variety is Cucumber and Green Tea, with the Waterlily and Spearmint coming a close second. I do like the Grapefruit and Lemongrass one, and while it has the same kind of fresh scent as the other two I do find it a little sour in smell. The deodorant comes in a bullet-shaped container with a flat base, so stands easily on any even surface. The body of the product is white and fashioned from hard plastic, while the screw-cap is tinted a cool blue/green. On the front label is a photograph of a slice of grapefruit and a sprig of lemongrass, while on the back label there is a list of ingredients and contact information. The cap unscrews in a simple twist mechanism, and when you replace it it screws back and locks into position to ensure the liquid inside is not in danger of drying up. When the cap is removed you see the ball, whi9ch is comprised of semi-transparent plastic. The liquid deodorant sits above the ball, and this design makes this product much more effective than other anti-perspirants. This is because you do not have to shake it to ensure the liquid comes into contact with the ball - the pull of gravity ensures it coats the ball at all times, so when you apply the ball to your skin and move it about there will always emerge a slick of the product.
The scent of the deodorant is lovely, but as mentioned previously, it does have a slight sourness about it. Words such as 'fresh,' 'cool' and 'refreshing' all spring to mind, too. It is primarily citrus-y in smell, but as it settles on your skin the fresh lemongrass fragrance starts to creep through more. All the deodorants in the Go Fresh range far exceed other products I have used in the past in terms of both scent and effectiveness. The deodorant contains ¼ moisturising lotion, and 0% alcohol, so as well as keeping your underarms fresh it also keeps them very soft and supple. I noticed the condition of my underarm skin improving after the second or third application, and I have never experienced any adverse effects from using the product. Occasionally when I shave my underarms and sustain some cuts or a rash the deodorant can sting a little for a few minutes, but this soon subsides and I believe the product helps the skin to heal faster when I use it.
The Grapefruit and Lemongrass deodorant is widely available in chemists, pharmacies and supermarkets. It usually retails between £1.30 - £1.70, but I very often purchase mine from Sainsbury's, where it is periodically on offer at 81p. Even at full price however, this product is a bargain. It protects and moisturises, perhaps not for the 24 hour period it claims, but for around 17 - 20 hours. The most noticeable thing about this product is its lovely, fresh scent, although I would recommend the Cucumber and Green Tea and Waterlily and Spearmint varieties over this one.
This Dove deodrant is a roll-on and comes in several different fragrances -this one being Grapefruit and Lemongrass. It comes in a small white bottle, with a screw-lid and looks very much like roll-on deodrants do. They did change the shape of these bottles a few years ago, which annoyed me a bit as they used to be much easier to hold and made a great mic for singing into (yes, yes, I know I'm 27 and should grow up!). TThe ball is at the bottom so it's quick and easy to apply the deodrant and you stand the deodrant up on its lid. It lasts a good length of time, I do think roll-ons last better than sprays.
That aside, this deodrant is the only one I can use. I have quite sensitive skin and other deodrants tend to bring me out in a rash - Dove doesn't though.
In terms of how effective it is, I'm not someone who sweats a great deal but I never have a problem with sweaty underarms when wearing this. It doesn't leave white marks on clothes, which is also good. It dries quickly too, so useful if you are in a hurry.
I don't think this is especially strong-smelling, but then I don't tend to go round sniffing under my armpits, it smells nice enough, but not the strong smell I associate with lemon. And I can't smell the grapefruit at all. I don't tend to need to reapply it during the day.
You can usually pick this up for betwween £1.50 and £2 and I would recommend this for those with more sensitive skin. I do think this is a genuinely good product but I will take one star off for not quite smelling as advertised - and for depriving me of a mic!
On a recent trip to Sainsbury's I picked up Dove's 'go fresh' roll-on deodorant for only 81p on special offer. Usually, this product retails for around £1.50-£2.00. The particular fragrance that I bought was grapefruit and lemongrass. I was initially drawn to this product as I am a great fan of Dove as I feel that their products are always of a superb quality and at such a reasonable price, I would have been silly not to give this deodorant a try.
*~* About Dove's Go Fresh Grapefruit & Lemongrass Roll-On *~*
This anti-perspirant comes in a 50ml white container with a pale yellow lid. This gives the product a really summery feel and ties in with its grapefruit scent. The deodorant claims to offer 24 hour dryness and states that it contains no alcohol and ¼ moisturising milk.
*~* My thoughts on the product *~*
I was really impressed with this particular deodorant. This was the first time that I have ever tried a Dove deodorant and I will be sure to buy more of them in the future after using this product. I find this anti-perspirant to be much kinder to my skin due to its moisturising ingredients and also the fact that it does not contain any alcohol, unlike many other deodorants.
The scent of the deodorant is lovely. It has a strong (but not overpowering) zesty, fruity fragrance. In my experience, the fragrance remains for a short while, but soon disappears. Nonetheless, it still smells fantastic and I was impressed with its staying power considering the fact that it is a roll-on anti perspirant.
In my opinion, the deodorant absorbs into the skin quickly and dries within a few minutes. It does not leave my underarms feeling sticky or too wet, unlike alternative deodorants I have previously used. Moreover, it left no white marks on my clothes after use, which is another plus point.
I prefer using this roll-on deodorant to aerosols now, as I find that it keeps me much drier and is far more effective overall. I will apply this product first thing in the morning and find that it keeps me dry all day and all night. Therefore, it keeps any perspiration at bay at those in between times when needed most until I have my morning shower the next day. Consequently, I would agree with the product's claim that it provides 24 hour protection.
A great feature about this roll-on is that it has a click close lid and this means that I can tell for sure whether I have put the lid back on properly, so as to prevent the deodorant from drying out. I find this aspect to be most helpful and I think that this is something that rival brands overlook.
Overall, this product is great value for money in my view, even at full price, as I cannot fault it in any way. In future I will be sure to buy this again and depart from using aerosol deodorants, as I feel that this is a more effective and environmentally friendly way of keeping me fresh and dry all day.
This product definitely gets 5 Dooyoo stars from me.
Thanks for reading!
Dove Roll On Deodorant - Energising Grapefruit and Lemongrass 50mls.
This is roll on deodorant made by from Dove who are part of the Unilever Organisation. A worldwide consortium who make lots of household products - for example Flash and Persil washing Powder.
This roll on deodorant costs around £1.49 for 50mls. It is available to buy in almost all supermarkets and chemists. I have even seen it in places like B & M Homestores costing just £1- so it is really good value.
It comes in a well designed pack with the roll on at the bottom of the pack - so it is always ready to use as the product sits above the roll on. It applies well, is not sticky and dries almost instantly. I have used it after shaving and it does not sting or irritate the skin.
It offers 24 hour protection and has an energising scent of Lemongrass and Grapefruit - both very natural products. It really smells lovely - not overpowering or sickly.
I then looked at the product information and I could not believe the ingredients listed. When you see all the added ingredients - most of them chemicals - it really makes you wonder if there is anything natural and fresh about this roll on?
Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex
C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate
PPG-14 Butyl Ether
Hydrogenated Castor Oil
After reading this I think I will give this Dove roll on deororant a miss - the fragrance is really nice and the packaging is neat and compact but as I have no idea what the listed ingredients all do then probably best left well alone.
I am really a bit disapointed with Dove, are all these chemical ingredients really necessary! Definitely could do better!
When it comes to buying deodorant i'm not that fussy - opting for whatever's reasonable cheap, and normally not bothering to find out what it smells like. My regular purchases include brands like Lynx, Right Guard, and Sure - all manly roll-ons which do the job without any hassle. Anyway, my sensitive side must have arisen last week, as whilst in Boots I picked up Dove's 'Go Fresh' - a grapefruit and lemongrass scented 50ml roll-on which can be purchased for £1.89. Now, some may say that Dove is a ladies brand - but the packaging isn't gender-specific, and therefore I decided to turn a blind eye... ok, so it was in the ladies section of the shop, but let's ignore that...
The container is small and constructed from white plastic with a screw-top yellow lid. This lid is actually at the bottom, meaning that the ball portion of the deodorant faces down, and there are no potential flow issues when you come to use it. The deodorant claims to offer 24 hour protection and is also alcohol free - but what does it smell like, and does it work? Well, the scent is very pleasant, and is quite subtle when compared to the other Dove roll-ons I have used in the past. That said, it arguably doesn't smell entirely like what it is supposed to, as I can't detect the grapefruit - and to be honest, I'm not entirely sure what Lemongrass is supposed to smell like - lemons I presume? The result is very nice, but it is very much like a generic fabric softener type aroma.
Ingredients: Aqua, Aluminium Chlorohydrate, Glycerin, Helianthus, Annuus Seed Oil, Steareth-2, Parfum, Steareth-20, Citric Acid, Potassium Lactate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Salicylate, Citronellol, Eugenol, Geraniol, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Limonene, and Linalool.
... Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde... sounds tasty.
The plastic ball transfers the deodorant easily, and a good coating can be applied to the underarms with minimum effort. It's also a liquid which dries fairly fast, which is good as you don't want it going onto the insides of your T-shirts and leaving those white stains. In terms of the performance, Dove Go Fresh is very hardworking, and I was surprisingly fresh after a sweaty hour-and-a-half squash session - the claimed 24 hour protection is proven too, with a long-lasting freshness throughout the day.
All in all Dove's Go Fresh is a great little roll-on which works perfectly and smells very nice too. I would certainly purchase it again, and would honestly consider it an excellent roll-on for both men and women alike.
I am always changing what toiletries i use so am always on the look out for new products. I saw this go fresh deodorant and thought i would try it out.
The packaging is quite simple, white with doves logo and yellow writing and a yellow base. The roll on ball sits at the bottom which helps with the application, especially as you get to the last little bit of the product. It allows you to get every drop out.
The main thing i love about this deodorant is the smell. It is so fresh, like a summers day, something i want from a deodorant as you want to keep clean and fresh. The smell is quite subtle but long lasting so you can still smell it on yourself after a long day which is nice. After application the deodorant dries fairly quickly so i don't have to wait too long to dress and it also does not leave white marks, helpful especially when wearing dark clothes. The deodorant keeps me dry for 24 hours.
The price is fairly good, £1.89, so about the same price as any other deodorant and it does last for a while, longer than aerosols as you do not need as much on.
I will definately be buying this again.
I am a complete shopping tart when it comes to deodorant. I like to give my armpits a bit of a change of aroma, as well as only buying whatever is on offer.
My latest offering to my armpits has been a Dove brand, namely Dove Go Fresh with grapefruit and lemongrass. The fragrance sounded nice even before I had bought the deodorant. I am a fan of anything citrus, so was quite looking forward to using this one.
The deodorant comes as a roll on, and in modern packaging with the roller ball at the base of the product. I am finding this design more and more lately as I buy different brands, and I find them easier to make sure I use all the product before moving onto the next one, purely because the product sits at the bottom of the tube all the time, and there seems to be less need to shake the tube all the time before applying.
I found the lid to be quite small compared to other roll on deodorants that I have used lately, and to be honest the more I have used it, the more fiddly I have found it to be in comparison with other brands. This has put me off buying it again in the future which is a shame.
The first time I opened the lid, I was hoping to smell a nice citrus fragrance, and whilst it is there and does smell nice and fresh, you have to put your nose to the roller ball to appreciate the fragrance.
I can smell it stronger once I have applied to my armpits, so it must activate the fragrance somehow as you move it around.
I always like Dove products as they have extra moisturising cream included to protect your skin. My skin always does feel slightly less bumpy when using Dove deodorants and this one is no different.
The product claims to protect from odour and wetness for 24 hours, and I can happily report this to be true for me. I can still faintly smell citrus on my arm pits after a day's worth of wearing which is quite nice, but don't recommend you go round sniffing armpits too often.
Overall I paid £1.00 for my 100ml tube, and without an offer you can expect to pay around £1.50. I think a roll on always lasts a bit longer than sprays as you don't seem to use as much for each application.
I am happy with the results this deodorant gives me, it's just a shame that the packaging doesn't live up to similar products, as this will put me off in the future. If you want to try it, I would recommend you try out the lid in the shop before you part with your money.
I change my deodorant every time I run out and this has definitely been one of the best. The smell is very fresh and lemony, but also with a bit of grapefruit so it doesn't smell like a cleaning product. It's widely available in supermarkets and drugstores but you probably won't find it in smaller corner shops. The deodorant sits almost upside down compared to most, with the ball on the bottom so this means it's always ready to use and you have a better indication of when it's running out. The shape also makes it a lot easier to hold.
To use, you unscrew the lid and rub on your underarms. I love the smell because it's very fresh yet also quite mild. After rubbing it on, it takes a little while to dry and when it does it doesn't go white and flakey like some deodorants do, so you don't need to worry too much about it getting on to clothing. The product claims to last 24 hours but I don't think it will last this long - I usually need to reapply it at the end of the day before sleeping but this may change person to person.
I'd definitely recommend this to anyone because it does keep you fresh during the day and I love the smell because it's smells clean and fruity. Because it's so subtle it won't interfere with any body sprays or perfume you wear either.
I don't usually use Dove deodorant but these were in the pound shop the other week and I loved the smell of them in the shop so brought a few. I like roll of deodorant better than sprays anyway and usually pay more than £1.00 so it was a saving and will save me having to think about buying deodorant for ages.
It smells really nice but it isn't an overpowering smell and doesn't interfere with my perfume. It says on the bottle that it's got grapefruit in it but I can't smell that in particular but it does smell fruity and has got a nice citrus smell about it and is a sweet smelling deodorant that smells very fresh and clean.
This deodorant takes a bit longer to buy than other roll on deodorants and is quite wet when you first put it on. I think this might be because the roll ball is very big compared to other roll ons and it lets out more of the product with each use. It feels cold when I put it on as well but that is quite refreshing after I have got out of the shower and it makes me feel fresh straight away. Its not sticky at all and thats a good thing because its the worst thing when you have a shower and then have to use something that makes you feel unclean again.
I don't sweat much and am not a very active person so I don't really put any deodorant through its paces but this one is just as good as the other big brands and smells loads nicer then most of them. I walk a bit and this makes you sweaty a bit when its warm but even when I went on a long walk yesterday with my mate I still felt fresh and clean and I hadn't sweated under my arms at all. The deodorant doesn't leave any marks on my clothes and hadn't dried white on my skin.
Dove is a gentle brand and the deodorant is kind to my skin and I can use it even straight after I have shaved without it stinging or making me feel sore. I try not to use any deodorant for 24 hours after I have shaved to give my skin time to recover and I use baby powder during those times but sometimes you know you're going to nneed deodorant like for a big night out so its nice to have a roll on that doesn't sting or cause under my arms to go red.
I like the bottle because it stands upside down on its lid so its always easy to get the ball going round and the deodorant comes out straight away without having to shake the bottle.
