I started buying the sensitive roll on Dove Deodorant about 12 years ago when I developed Eczema under my arms and couldn't use perfumed products anymore.
I am so happy I discovered this product as just one use in the morning lasts all day, so I never feel uneasy about having to reapply which I have in the past. It is easy to use and feels nice to apply, it also never leaves white marks on my clothes which is a bonus and is the perfect size for travelling with especially in hand luggage.
It is perfect for anyone who has sensitive skin as there is nothing in it to irritate, it is roll on which is perfect to cover the whole under arm area, the dove smell lasts all day so you can feel comfortable and confident that you will never sweat and smell badly.
There are other versions with different smells for the less sensitive.
Perfect is what I say!
I know roll on deodorants are old fashioned, but this one lasts long, keeps you dry, and even if you sweat then the sweat smells of the deodorant so you can feel confident all day.
The range of dove comes in many different shapes and forms, I also use the soap, and occasionally the deodorant spray. This sensitive one comes in a white small bottle with a blue screw top lid. The actual roller ball feels smooth on your armpit and spreads the product over evenly.
It smells fresh and not really of anything as it doesnt contain fragrance, so it is suitable and gentle for sensitive skin.
The bottle has lasted me for at least 2 weeks so far, using it every day, and sometimes twice if I have a shower before going out in the evening. The size of the bottle also means its portable and you can keep it discreetly in your handbag. Its also very light at 50ml. The price varies but I paid £1.99 in Tescos.
It contains 0% alcohol and the bottle is recyclable afterwards. If you wanted a fragrance then there are lots of other smells in the roll on range.
After using for about a week my armpits felt really soft and even though I shave them with a disposable razor I didnt feel any sting or have sore skin after applying.
I can recommend this to people who suffer from pain after shaving and then applying deodorant, or if you just want smooth skin under your arms.
I was really excited about using this product due to the rave reviews that I had read on this site and on others, however, I was left very disappointed with it! The worst thing was I decided to try it out at a family wedding and was left mortified when the pictures came up showing the sweat patches on my dress!! I have used other deodorants such as Sure which keeps me sweat-free for several hours, but I decided to try this due to the fresh and clean smell that is often associated with Dove products. My arm was also twisted by the various Dove adverts on TV at the moment. While it did leave my underarms soft and smooth and smelt lovely, it didnt do its job of being an anti-perspirant properly! The only other advantage that I can think of is that it was quite cheap and as it small you can take it around with you in your handbag. However, I will be sticking to the Sure range next time, and wouldn't recommend this to anyone who is worried about sweating and sweat patches!
I love dove it smells so nice I've used this brand in so many products such as deodorant, hand soap, moisturiser etc. it's so soft on the skin and smells really nice, I find that some roll ones wear off really quick whereas this one does last longer which is a bonus as I don't want to keep having to reapply it. There are many dove roll on fragrances there all pretty nice smelling to be honest, this one protects me for about half a day it's even good after having a shave as some irritate my skin but not this one, it's a roll on I would recommend to anyone. The price is generally about £1.99 which i do find a bit expensive although it does last around a month but you can get it on offer as I have just got some dove where it was at a £1 you can but it from many stores such as Superdrug, Boots and even Morrison's. Defiantly one that I would purchase again.
I have used Dove Roll on for longer than I can remember. After years of trying spray deodarants and failing miserably with white marks on my clothing or the smell wearing off I switched to roll ons and have never looked back. All Dove roll on products have never left any white marks on my clothing even if they are applied immediately before getting dressed (in a black top!!).I was always very good at forgetting to pack my trusty roll on in my gym back and after a good work out, other than the obviously visible sweat, there was no odours present.Despite its small size it also lasts for ages, I am lucky if I buy a new roll-on every 3 months and that is with using it daily.Would definately recommend to a friend.
When at the gym (sometimes) to cut down on space I thought I would go for a roll on, and liking the Dove deodorant spray original I thought the roll on would be just as good. I am impressed with this antiperspirant as it does give off a good scent and makes me feel fresh after sweating it out!
The product --> The deodorant comes in a white user friendly hand design, ergonomically designed so that it fits in your grip. It has a blue plastic screw lid, and on the body a label of 'dove'. The roll on is white.
This has 1/4 moisturising protection, which is great if under arms are recently shaved, as sometimes the sprays can sting. I have never known this to sting me, it just feels soft. It feels very wet, but dries within a minute. It also doesn't feel sticky, and has lovely protection. I like the fact that it takes care of my skin, especially when it is as delicate as underarm skin.
I would not rely on this as my main deodorant, as I prefer to use stronger ones. However, it smells very fresh and I do like to use it. It also saves space in gym bags!
The cost --> I have seen this for about £2 in supermarkets and chemists. There is another type as well which is for normal skin, whereas I use this one as it is for sensitive skin.
A lovely product from Dove, they have a great reputation for caring for the skin and continue it with thie product.
When I first started using deodorant for about three years this was the only type of deodorant I ever used. For the last two weeks or so I have started to use this again and I find it really easy to see why I didn't want to change for such a long time when I first started using it.
Dove is probably my favourite brand for skin care and definitely a brand I trust when it comes to deodorant. It has never let me down so I always feel like I can rely on it. This is one reason I picked this up in the supermarket. The other reason is that it was the cheapest dove deodorant there. I didn't want to go for another brand as like I say dove is the one I trust the most.
I'm not usually a fan of roll ons and prefer aerosols as they seem to dry a lot quicker. This is the only problem I have with this deodorant. Otherwise, for a roll on this is exceptional.
I don't find that this leaves any white marks, it will only leave white marks if you put your clothes on the second after you have put it on. If you wait for a minute for it to dry like you are supposed to, and then put your clothes on, you will get no white marks.
This doesn't have a particular smell and just has a nice fresh fragrance that you can pick up after exercise, instead of when you would usually be smelling sweat. This smell is much nicer! It covers up the smell of sweat perfectly. I much prefer this smell to any scented aerosols for example, palmolive. This one just smells clean.
You can pick this up in most good supermarkets, Boots or Superdrug, Bodycare etc. It usually will only cost you about £1 which is fantastic value, it will last you about two or three weeks depending on how much you use. I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes to use a roll on.
I have incredibly sensitive skin under my arms, to the point that I have permanently discoloured skin and constant dryness. This has never been better since I started using this deodorant. It hasn't gone completely, I expect it never will, but it is barely noticeable, especially during summer when my skin is darker.
Obviously this is aimed at people like me with dove moisturiser included in the formula and no harmful chemicals (I think, but I can't be sure, that means no alcohol), which is fairly common on the market nowadays, but this is one of the only products I've tried that has actually helped me. It's been a really happy find for me because it is a really confidence shatterer to have such dry skin under your arms so for that I will always be loyal!
Also the packaging is different now to what is shown in the picture. The new design is upside down, so the deodorant sits with the roller facing down, meaning that you don't have to balance it precariously in your drawer when it's beginning to run out! So simple but so useful and I really wouldn't buy a deodorant with the old style packaging again.
I haven't actually been diagnosed with a skin condition such as dermatitis, but for generally bad/sensitive skin this product is really amazing and I would recommend it to anyone who has even slight trouble with their skin. It took me a while to realise that it was probably my deodorant giving me issues - where else do we rub harsh chemicals on our skin every day? - and I'm so glad that I've finally found a solution.
I have used dove for a number of years, and have found it to be the best roll on available.
I have quite sensitive under arms, so I have had to try a lot of different roll ons and sprays and all sorts of concoctions that don't make them flare up and ruin my chances of wearing vests in the summer.
I have also tried various types of dove roll on but still for me this comes out on top.
The packaging is actually different now, with the screw top on the bottom and the whole bottle is more triangular in shape. They currently cost £1.63 at Sainsburys and they are sometimes on offer with other products in the dove range.
This deodorant is very easy to apply, I have found other roll ons collect residue and eventually go crusty at the top making the actual roll action impossible, and some cheap ones just don't roll at all as they are very dry. The roller on this always stays fluid and moves easily over under arms.
The smell of this deodorant is really pleasant, it's not too strong, but it's a very distinctive soapy smell that smells clean and fresh. You can't smell it during the day after you have applied it (unless you get really close to that area, which I don't tend to do).
This deodorant dries relatively quickly, as long as you don't put too much on, and it doesn't mark clothes much. I have found if you really pile it on it will mark clothes with that familiar white stripe but it comes off easily enough with a damp cloth, and doesn't happen if you don't over load on it.
I have had no problems with this deodorant, and will continue to use it. It's more effective than a spray and does not make skin irritable or dry. I would really recommend it for sensitive under arms. It is a tad more expensive than others, but worth it.
Dove deodorant is an anti perspirant roll on contaning no alchohol and is a 24 hour roll on for added protection.
It is based on the original Dove 'soap' packaged up into a roll on and I think it is one of Dove's better products.
It's main features=
0 percent alcohol, which stops that awful stinging after any sort of hair removal on the skin. I personally always look out for this feature in any anti perspirant.
1/4 moisturising cream, as the original Dove soap, to help care for your underarms.
Suitable for sensitive skin due to the no alcohol formulation.
Packaging is a simple blue and white tube of 50ml, the original Dove colours as the soap packaging was this colour, so unmistakenly Dove.
The smell is that of original Dove, that is, very fresh but also creamy and smells moisturising if you know what I mean!! Very attractive as I loved the original Dove smell, one of the original and still the best beauty product going.
Using it is like spreading the glorious liquid Dove soap on your arms, smells gorgeous as do all the Dove anti perspirants and very fragrant as applying, lovely stuff. It is a white liquid as it comes out which of course dries to a clear protective layer.
It is thick and ever so slightly gloopy, and spreads very easily, it is dispensed well due to the smooth action of the roller ball. I find each time I use it it somehow spreads itself around the outside of the lid area which is a bit gloopy and you have to either wipe it off or just wipe on your underarms to clean the bottle up a bit, I don't know why it does this, it's not a major problem though as it does not go to waste.
Speaking of the lid it is very easy to undo even with wet hands yet secure. And oh, it is stored upside down enabling the product to always be at the bottom, hence maybe why we find a little sloppiness upon removing the lid?? Ahh not too worry at least it actually is easy to apply and comes out when you want it to.
It has always lasted between showers without need of topping up with a spray and I look forward to using it!!!
Oh the drying properties.....well it is sticky and takes about 10 minutes of flapping with your arms at right angles to your torso, even after a bit it is slightly tacky, ever so slightly.
It will make a mess of any black tops until the next time they are washed with it being white so do be careful when slipping on a black top and do not use too much.
I think I got mine for about a pound which is fine value for money as it was on offer, it will be a little more than this usually. Found in the usual retailers, chemists, supermarkets etc.
Recommend it for beautiful smelling freshness, nice application and longevity.
8 out of 10.
When it comes to deodorant I usually use Sure spray but sometimes I feel like buying a roll on and when I do there isn't a specific brand that I use. I got this Dove because it was on special offer in Savers and only cost 74p and even though it's not the best one I've ever used it's very nice and is effective.
It's the sensitive version but I've used the original one before and they both seem the same to me except that this one has got a weaker smell even though it still smells like baby powder to me.
The only thing I'm not mad about is how wet it comes out because it takes ages to dry enough for me to put my top on. I have to remember to put the deodorant on before brushing my teeth and doing my make up because if I do it afterwards then I'm sat in the bathroom like a mug all made up and waiting for my pits to dry!
It's effective for general day to day exercise but it's very delicate and I wouldn't trust it for the gym or for very strenuous exercise so I always take my Mitchum with me then even though I don't sweat a lot.
The talc smell of the deodorant lasts all day and I love how fresh it makes me feel and smell. It's gentle enough to use after shaving and doesn't sting at all but I don't know if it makes my underarms softer like Dove says it will!
The bottle is different to the picture Dooyoo have got up and it's one of them that stands upside down so the ball never dries out and gets stuck even if you don't use it for a few days.
This probably isn't one I'll buy very often because I hate how wet it is and there are other sensitive ones that are just as effective as this but are touch dry much quicker.
For as long as I can remember I have always used Dove Roll on Deodorant. When buying my deodorant I purchase the origianal dove roll on, as this is the one that I find suits my skin best!
This deodorant provides you protection from the areas that cause odour and wetness without leaving those dreaded white marks. As well as targeting perspiration it also leaves your underarms feeling soft and smooth. This is due to the quarter moisturising lotion that is added to the deodorant, which is ideal for nourishing your underarms after shaving!
When using this product I am reassured that I am preventing odour and wetness as it keeps me fresh and dry throughout the day. The deodorant has the original Dove smell, which is fresh and light and not over powering, but is strong enough to cover any odours that might occur.
I find this product is suitable for my skin as it is reccomended for sensitive skin which is a problem I have. I have not had any irritation from the deodorant and to date never had any soreness or rashes after shaving, whilst using this product.
Dove Roll On Deodorant cost around £1.80 and can be purchased in most chemists and supermarkets. As this product is a favorite of mine I often buy it from the supermarkets when they have offers on, such as, "buy one get one free", as I am able to stock up!!!
The roll on now comes in the form of the "upside down" container which ensures that you use every bit of the product, making it good value for money!
I bought Dove roll on sensitive deodorant by accident one day. I thought that I had bought my usual Sure roll on deodorant, but in a rush I realised that I had picked up the wrong one. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the Dove deodorant.
My underarms can sometimes get quite sensitive and can sting when I put deodorant on and this is why I have stuck to sensitive deodorants for the past few years as they usually do the job and dove is no exception. It certainly does not leave any stinging on your underarms. It also never leaves any white marks on my clothes, which makes it a must have deodorant for me as I quite often wear dark colours. I have found that this tube of deodorant usually lasts me about two months using it every day, so it is pretty much the same as other deodorants in this way.
The deodorant also dries without leaving any white flakiness under your arms. It normally dries in a few minutes, so you do not have to wait for ages before putting your clothes on. I would recommend this deodorant, as it has everything you could need in a deodorant.
I've always been pleased with the Dove products that my daughters & I have used over the years so when I saw this deodorant on offer at one of our local pound shops (usual RRP - £1.49) I grabbed a couple. I thought they'd come in handy for travelling or popping in gym bags etc & to be honest I didn't notice it was 'sensitive' until I started to use it.
The product comes as shown in the photo & has a curvy shape which means it's easy to hold even with wet/soapy hands.
The plastic screw on/off cap seems a little out of proportion to the bottle as it's so big & when you take the cap off the roller ball is the largest I've ever seen on this type of deodorant so I've found you only need to a couple of glides under each armpit to get full coverage.
The smell is fairly strong when you first open it but this fades when used so it doesn't interfere with any perfume you might be wearing. The smell is kind of floral but 'chemisty' if you know what I mean? I can't single out any specific fragrance but overall it's one of freshness & rather feminine.
The only thing I don't like about this deodorant is that I don't feel the immediate dryness that I get if I use a spray. It seems to take a little longer to be absorbed & I've often found myself using talcum powder straight after use to speed the process up a bit.
On the positive side though I think it lasts longer than a deodorant spray & is lighter to carry plus better for the planet.
The 50ml conatiner has some rather dubious ingredients including aluminium chlorohydrate, cetyl alcohol, decyl oleate etc? but also has glycerin, aqua & parfum (which I DO recognise!).
All in all I'd say this is an effective deodorant & seems to suit all ages. It seems to be just as good as the Dove Original & I've found it handy to have in stock as a change from deodorant sprays.
- effective deodorant.
- smells OK & not too strong.
- takes longer to absorb into the skin than most spray deodorants in my opinion.
- easy to use with it's generous roller-ball.
Several factors led me to change from my usual aerosol anti-perspirant to a roll on. My skin become sensitised to my usual Sure spray a while ago and seemed to be going the same way with the vaseline aerosol I replaced it with. I think aerosols may harm the environment (not sure where I've absorbed that information from but it makes sense to me), I redesigned the storage in my bathroom so wanted to reduce the size of things that I need to store. My youngest son became so clingy that I couldn't spend a moment out of his sight and I was concerned for his little lungs whenever I sprayed my deodorant.
So with all these in mind, plus the reduced cost of roll ons compared to spray antiperspirants I decided to make the change.
Now, my first encounter with deodorant/antiperspirant was with Mum roll on, back when my youth involved cerise pink patent stillettos worn with my school uniform and I had a graduated permed bob dyed in various shades of plum - shall we say it's been a while! Back then I found roll ons to be sticky, damp for hours, overpoweringly fragranced and fairly inefficient at anti-persperising but adequate at deodorising (i.e. I didn't smell, but I wouldn't raise my arms on a hot day either!). So it was with trepidation that I tried out the Dove roll-on... on a work day.
Firstly I struggled to remove the lid. Now, I had the op for carpel tunnel syndrome a couple of years ago, and my right hand remains weak, but still, it's rare that I resort to getting the other half to take a lid off for me and he had to do so with this product. I then practiced taking the lid on and off and it got a little easier, but it was still a tight fit and I don't relish opening a new container if I'm on my own and this is a regular packaging issue.
The product itself is pleasantly fragranced and the roller ball works well, coating the armpit in a thin layer with ease. It took a minute to dry to a comfortable level and two minutes later I was no longer aware of it, although when I stopped to think about my armpits(!) they were still slightly damp, but not sticky.
After a couple of days use in an overheated classroom I felt confident using the Dove Roll on. I was not worried about damp patches on my clothes or nasty odours. The fragrance did not interfere with my perfume and I have not come up in a rash or found my skin becoming sensitive as had been the case with the Sure and Vaseline aerosols. The only drawback I have found has been the tight lid on the packaging and a minute or so of initial wetness after application. I now apply my mascara whilst waiting for the anti-perspirant to dry!
