“ Brand: Dove / Type: Deodorant Spray / Suitable for: Hair „
Honestly, i'm not a big fan of Dove, i only bought it as i needed an anti-perspirant, i liked the colour of the container, and wild rose smelt pretty good. I didn't even notice the 'minimises the prickly feeling between shaves' part until i got home. Price I bought mines from Asda for £2.64 for 150ml. You can also currently purchase this in Tesco for £2.62, Sainsbury's for £1.52 and Ocado for £2.62 or as part of a 3 for 2 deal. Packaging The colour is gorgeous! It's like a shiny, light pink colour, which shimmers slightly when the light hits it. The bottle is a long, cylinder shape with a curvy dent nearer the top, perhaps put in place to help ease application. It says Dove on the front with the logo and then some information about the deodorant. It has little plastic lid which you can pull off and on without much effort. The container keeps the anti-perspirant cool. Claims The product claims to 'minimise the prickly feeling between shaves'. It also says that it's unique formula contains: 'Pro-Epil complex with natural extracts' and 'Dove's 1/4 moisturising cream'. Dove also claims that 'It cares for your underarm skin, helping to get a close shave and within weeks your underarm hair will feel softer. With continued use, Dove Minimising reduces that prickly feeling between shaves, keeping the just shaved feeling for longer. All with the 24 hours protection and skincare expertise you expect from Dove.' Product The product is always really chilled, so it's great when applying. The product also doesn't leave any white marks like some other anti-perspirants do, so you can feel confident when your going out. The smell is gorgeous! It's really fresh and has a sofistiated twist to it. You can definetely smell the rose coming through, and it gives it a really gorgeous fragrance. Application Shake well. Then hold the can 15cm from the underarm and spray by pushing the button located at the top of the container. Be careful though, as sometimes if your skin is sensitive, the deodorant can sting where you sprayed. Results First off, it definetely left me feeling refreshed and awake. The smell is definetely the best aspect about this product, it's lovely. As for moisturising my underarms. No, it didn't. If anything, it made them drier. I'm lucky that i dont really have this prickly feeling between shaves, so i can't really give my opinion on that. As for the 24 hour protection, that was a big let down. I had to respray, and respray, and respray over and over again. Downfalls Had to continually respray. Didn't moisturise, infact, it made them drier. Overall All in all, i would not purchase this product again as although it was nicely fragranced and packaged, they were the only good aspects about this product. It failed to do carry out all the claims it promised, and for that reason i would not recommend it to anyone else.
Boots says: Dove Nature Fresh Minimising Anti-Perspirant deodorant lets you look and feel hair free for longer. The unique hair minimising formula contains: ■Pro-Epil complex with natural extracts ■Dove's 1/4 moisturising cream From first use - it cares for your underarm skin. Within weeks - underarm hair feels noticeably finer and easier to remove. With continued use - your underarms look and feel hair free for longer. All of this with the 24 hour anti perspirant protection and skin care expertise you expect from Dove. The product therefore promises to not only care for underarm skin like dove products all do, but to help you to go longer between shaving and for the hairs to look finer so that they don't necessarily need to go the instant they come through. Sounds fantastic, and would inevitably care for underarms should you not need to shave as much because less damage would then be done. So, we have established it is a great idea.. now only if it worked? Which unfortunately I cannot say it does. When spraying this on I do feel that my underarms feel smoother and they don't dry out. The smell is lovely although it is a very strong smell. Its a very floral smell, particularly rose as the description says. As for a standard anti-persperant deodrant I would give this 4 stars, it does seem to keep you fresh all day even within a hot environment I find this deodrant works well. It also seems to carry on doing its job even if you wear sleeves. I find that there are a few deodrants that if you wear sleeves the product must wear off or rub off because it stops working! However I do not find that this helps to minimise hair and isn't worth the money. I bought this in an offer of 2 for £3. So after a months use I did not see any results, it definitely didn't reduce how many times I had to shave and as it is expensive on its own (£2.58 from Asda) Its cheaper to go with a normal dove product. Will not be recommending I'm afraid!
This deodrant is packaged in a rose pink colour rather than the traditional white packaging of other Dove products. I found that this deodrant was extremely effective at minimising hair growth, but it did take a few weeks of usage to take effect. I would advise future users to be patient when waiting for the results. It left my underarm area feeling smooth and clean, this is unlike some deodrants that can clog up your pores and leave a sticky residue. One of the criticisms of this product is that I did feel that I sweated more than when I have used other branded products and I feel that this product is expensive for what it is. This product can be bought at most high street beauty stores, such as Boots and Superdrug and you get 150ml for £2.57. This product is also available in a different fragrance of nature fresh. Health benefits have also bo considered with this product which is there is 0% alchohol used and too keep your underarms nourished a 1/4 moisturising cream has been added to the product.
This is an anti-perspirant by Dove that claims to make underarms 'look and feel hair free for longer'. So it doesn't claim to prevent or stop underarm growth. I got this deodorant as I find many deodorants give me a rash ( I get a reaction) and so I am constantly experimenting to find one that will work for me. Normally this costs about £3-£2.50 but I got it for £1 at Tesco when it was on offer. Dove claims that after the first use it 'cares for underarms'. After my first use I didn't really notice any difference. After weeks 'underarm hair feels finer and easier to remove'. After 2 weeks of use underarm hair was just as easy to remove, so there was no improvement but it did seem finer. I don't know if hair being finer is due to me using a depletion cream every week for 2 years or because of the deodorant but it was definitely thinner. With long term use 'underarms look and feel hair free for longer'. After 2 months of using it I still had to use a depletion cream every week so there was no improvement. The deodorant has floral smell to it as it is 'wild rose' scented. The smell is pleasant and subtle and it dies down after 10-15 minutes which is good as it won't interfere with perfume. The anti-perspirant doesn't stop sweating but it does make my underarms smell like roses. It doesn't smell like the distinctive Dove smell of their other product range. The main reason for me getting this deodorant was to see if it would work with my extremely sensitive skin. Unfortunately after 2 months of using the deodorant I found I had developed a reaction to the deodorant. Normally when I use a new deodorant I don't get any signs of a reaction and then after a month of use a rash develops but it took longer with this deodorant. However this deodorant is not for me as I can't use it long term. Overall, this deodorant didn't work for me and so I won't be using it again. It may have helped to make underarm hair thinner but it didn't make a difference to how often I had to use depletion.
I'm always on the look out for anything that will reduce my general hairiness and have tried countless products over the years. Nothing aside from epilators have managed it, and sadly not this Dove creation either. I used it for a couple of months but never noticed any difference in the hairgrowth on my underarms. Perhaps this is because my hair is particularly thick and doesn't really respond to anything - some people have reported improvements. I didn't like the smell either, finding it a bit sickly and old-fashioned. I'm suprised there isn't a bit of choice of scents provided - maybe they're working on it. The only plus is that I could put it on relatively soon after shaving without a great deal of stinging, and it never stained my clothes. As a deodorant it worked adequatley, but I do have better products for this purpose. Although it didn't work for me, I would still suggest it might be worth the punt. It's not that expensive and could be effective for some - if not, well, you'll still have a reasonable deodorant.
I don't use this deodorant anymore as I have found another, cheaper, one that works better for me. My skin is fairly sensitive and so I am quite picky when it comes to deodorants. I usually prefer roll-ons but thought I would give this spray a go as the hair minimising claims drew me in. £2.83 got me a 150ml can which I thought was quite pricey. I used this twice a day and loved the scent of wild rose as I put it on. I used this until the can ran out but not at any point did I notice any difference in hair growth which was quite disappointing as I was expecting a change. However, the deodorant did make my skin feel softer under my arms which I wasn't expecting, but which was quite nice. I would not buy this deodorant purely for this reason though as at almost £3, it is just too expensive for what it is. I won't be buying this again as I don't feel it lived up to its claims as a hair minimising deodorant.
Dove is the only brand of deodarant that I'm able to use given my incredibly sensitive skin so when this deodarant was released, I obviously had to give it a go. Although I was slightly discouraged by the price (£2.83 for a 150ml bottle), I was eager to find out if the deodarant was effective in doing what it claimed to do. I used the deodarant and purchased another two bottles, willing to give the product a chance to have an effect. However, I noticed absolutely no effect with regards to hair minimising - I still had to shave around every 2-3 days which was no different to how often I normally did. I must however admit that the deodarant has a considerable effect with regards to softening my underarms and making the skin a little more firm. Furthermore, the anti perspirant properties of this product are still as effective as other Dove products, despite any other added ingredients used for the purpose of hair minimising. In conclusion, although this deodarant doesn't exactly do what it says on the tin, I found it to be wonderful at softening the skin under my arms and a really good and nice smelling anti perspirant.
I feel my skin gets irritated by shaving so when this product came out I thought I would give it a go. The promise of having to shave less often sounded good and while I was using it I did feel that the hairs were a bit finer but it wasn't any sort of dramatic difference in the amount I was shaving, although I did think that my underarms didn't feel as irritated. If you don't get it on an offer it can be quite expensive and i felt that the bottle ran out quite quickly, within a month but maybe that's just how frequently I personally use it. I also didn't think it worked that well as a deodorant, I have used other brands that are better. If you wanted longer term hair removal then I would recommend waxing or epilation. I don't think this is the route for silky smooth underarms.
This sounded like the perfect product for me. However, it also sounded too good to be true! Unfortunately, that does seem the case. I bought this product under an introductory offer when it first came out. This meant that it was only half price so thought I'd give it a go. After using it for a couple of months, I haven't really notice a reduction of hairs under my arm, even though I use this product very regularly. Although I have continued to buy it! This is mainly because of the smell; its amazing! One of the best smelling deodorants I have ever used. Therefore, I would definately recommend it to all women out there for that reason. Also, I can't say it won't wor for everyone just because it didn't work for me. Therefore I would advise anyone to try it and see for yourselves! Let me know if it works for you!
The one thing I get through tons of is deodorant! I'm addicted to the stuff that's why (and not cos I stink...honest lol) but as a regular gym bunny where it's hunk heaven I'm aware that I look like a sweaty minger but I don't want to smell like one too! I prefer spray on antiperspirants as I personally find roll on's as a rule to wet and the creamy kind seem to eat my skin and burn me so these are my best option. The crystal one's that are rather natural also tend to sting my skin and lets not talk about any 'Lush' offerings either! So I stick to what I know and when I saw this reduced to £1.99 (on offer in Boots), not only by Dove (a brand I'm totally in love with!) but promising to be hair minimising (perfect for me cos I get designer stubble after just a couple of hours after shaving as I'm naturally dark haired) I had to bung one in my overflowing basket to try out! The Packaging: A very light shell pink slightly shimmery long cylinder can with a slight indentation into it for ease of use and a matching dome shaped lid/cap to the top of it concealing a white and pink large push button aerosol sprayer. On the front of the can I'm told it is New Dove hair Minimising 'Look & feel hair free for longer' Anti-perspirant deodorant and then I'm told it's wild rose in fragrance and offers 24hr protection and contains 1/4 moisturiser. On the back of the can I'm told a bit about the product and how it works, directions for use and warnings are listed, ingredients and contact details for Unilever (the manufacturer of Dove products) are stated, size is shown (150ml) as is the recycle symbol and finally there is a bar-code on there. The can looks the usual high standard of quality Dove usually offer and I like the indentation to top of the can to make the can easy to handle thus use and direct and the large push button and everything about it. It simply looks nice and it gives alot of information on it that's all very well laid out too! A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Can: The unique hair minimising formula contains: Pro-Epil complex with natural extracts. Dove's 1/4 moisturising cream. From First Use: It cares for your underarm skin. Within Weeks: Underarm hair feels noticeably finer and easier to remove. With Continued Use: Your underarms look and feel hair free for longer. All with the 24 hour anti-perspirant protection and skin care expertise you expect with Dove. Directions For use: Shake well. Hold can 15cm from the underarm and spray. Me Using It: Well I was so excited to use this! I know I'm sooo sad but I simply love buying and using new products! Lol! So to use this do as directed! Spray it to clean and dry armpits. Now its really important with this to spray it from at a distance! The reason for this is that if you spray it too close to your skin it comes out as a white snowstorm! I've done this a few times when in a hurry to leave the house or wherever and ended up having to wipe loads of white powder off my pits with my hands! It's a real pain and a real mess! This for me is to white and powdery sadly. Even with a light spray, sprayed from afar I don't feel confident to wear darker clothes when this is in use and whats more I did once without realising and ruined a black vest top as I couldn't get the residue out of it even on a 60c wash! If you must use this spray be warned! Lighter clothes is imperative! Apart from it being unsuitable to me because of that fact I actually really liked it on every other level! The smell is that of roses, in a nice girly way opposed to be an oldie smell my granny would wear and that smell stays apparent for a good 4-5 hours. It worked at keeping me whiff free for over 24 hours and that's with a hard work out and 6 mile walk! It is incredibly moisturising too as most Dove products are and my underarms felt lightly hydrated and smooth to the touch when I first apply it and for many hours later. Does it minimise hair? I'm shocked I'm saying this but most definitely! I noticed I miss out the stubbly look for a hell of a lot longer and as promised with prolonged use of this (which I have done by using this at night or wearing light clothes) that overall my skin is in far better condition and armpits are even easier to shave in general. Overall: I can't believe I can't use this easier and more often! It's too white and powdery and I value my clothes and my appearance to much to look like I have dandruff under my arms! Like I say I do use this at night and with light coloured clothes (such as white) and I do dust my armpits off a bit after using this to make sure there is no visible powder but I'm just not keen on the effort required to wear it. However I love the smell, love the fact I'm not so hairy, love the condition of the skin under my arms and really think this is great for sensitive skin. It really fulfills it's promises to be fair to it, I mean after-all it doesn't promise no white marks! I'm actually so sad about this being a let down that I feel like writing to this products manufacturer and complaining because it's rather unusual but excellent in other areas! I don't get how it could be so overlooked that this powdery residue can effectively stain our clobber! Hmmmm.. At the time of writing this review it seems to be on promotion in many supermarkets and chemists and is about £1.99 a can but the usual price of this is usually about £3.29 and it's available in a couple of fragrances and in roll on form.
I first discovered this product about a month ago while purusing the shelves of my local supermarket but decided to give it a proper trail before writing a review on, I think it's had long enough now so here goes... Dove By now most people will be familiar with Dove products for both men and women. Dove make shampoos, conditioners, deodorants and anti perspirants, soap and body washes, bubble baths, body lotions and hand lotions. Dove also operate the campaign for real beauty which incorporates the self esteem fund, everybody will have seem the ads which try to banish the stereo-typical idea of a beautiful woman (e.g a stick thin model) and use real women of all different shapes and sizes instead. I myself have quite a positive image of Dove as a company and think that generally they make pretty good quality products. The Spray This spray is one of Dove's newest products. It's available in three different scents: wild rose, silky lily and Nature fresh. The bottle is 150ml but it is also available in roll on. The spray is for use on underarms and promises that your pits will look and stay hair free for longer. The spray contains a unique hair minimising formula containing something called pro-epil complex. The Science Pro-Epil complex smooths the hair to make it feel softer and finer. The spray also contains moisturisers and sunflower seed oil, that takes away the dryness caused by shaving, together the ingredients will make the skin appear plumper and softer so hair is less noticiable. The Scent I myself have only tried the Wild rose variety, and it is a very nice scent, if you like floral scents I would highly recommend this one there also seems to be a bit of a fruity undertone in there too, it's very very nice. Performance As an anti perspireant I really couldn't fault this product. It claims to last for 24 hours (i always have a bath or a shower before the 24 hours is up) but even during the recent spell of hot weather there was no need to re-apply, the scent faded but my armpits felt dry all day long. Unfortunately as for the hair minimising effect i didn't notice any difference at all, I still had to shave my underarms just as often as I always did and if I did leave them an extra day the regrowth didn't seem any finer or less noticable to me. Price I paid £1.89 from ASDA, this was an introductory price which has now risen to the extortionate price of £2.36 Overall I was a bit dissapointed with the hair minimising but as an anti-perspirant it does a brilliant job although a little too expensive for my pocket. Also on ciao
I am a chronic sufferer of dry skin and am quite a fan of dove deodorants because they are much more moisturising then other brands of the market. When I heard that they had a new Deodorant out and one that reduced hair as well, I thought I would give it ago, even though I was quite sceptical that it would actually reduce hair growth, I thought it would properly leave me skin feeling a bit softer. The first thing to mention is that it is more much expensive then there other ranges, at nearly £2.50 it is almost a £1 more than most main brand deodorants. The bottle is the standard shape and size of Dove's deodorant range but is a rose pink colour instead, which does make it easy not to pick the wrong product by mistake. At the initial stage of use it does have a pleasant smell and does work well as an antiperspirant but perhaps not the best antiperspirant on the market. It does also do what all dove products do and is a good moisturiser, leaving skin feeling softer after use. As for the hair minimising, after about two weeks use I notice that the hair wasn't finer but seem to grow slower and that I didn't have to shave quite so often. After over a month's use I am pleasantly surprised by how much difference it has made to how regularly I now have to shave and the softer underarms I now have because of this.
I was a bit sceptical when I bought this and especially since I paid £2.49 for it compared to the usual deodorant trick of buying what ever is on offer. I liked the idea of a hair minimising deodorant especially now in the nicer weather. I have been using the roll on version. I really like roll on's because I hate the fog in the air after using spray that you inevitably walk through. The first thing you notice is the gorgeous smell. The wild rose fragrance is lush. It is without doubt the nicest smelling deodorant ever - for this reason I would keep buying it. Admittedly it doesn't smell quite as nice after a really sweaty day but what deodorant does? So far the roll on works straight onto the skin. I haven't had any problems with it drying when not in use and needing to loosen it before I could use it. I have been using it for 2 months now and I have noticed a definite difference. You know how under arm hair is course especially when it's stubbly. This deodorant makes the hair much softer. I have been out without checking my arms then realising that I really should not have worn that sleeveless top - I know how Julia Roberts committed that fashion faux pas now! I'm not sure if less hair grows but it is definitely less obvious to the touch. The deodorant also dries quite quickly after it's applied so you're not waiting too long before getting dressed. I haven't had too many problems with white marks on my clothes either, it can leave a trace but it comes off easily. I am hooked. There is no way I will ever swap back to another deodorant, even considering the extra cost because I'm still on my first tube. I hope dove keep making this!!
I am always keen to try new products so when I spotted a new Dove deodorant on offer in Tesco I decided to give it a try. I had already seen the advert that promised that using this deodorant would not only keep you smelling sweet with dry pits, but would also minimise underarm hair! I couldn't wait to see if the claims were true! The deodorant comes in a dusky pink, slim metal container and looks quite pretty in my view. It is easy to hold and spray too, so full marks here. The deodorant is available in 3 fragrances-wild rose, natural fresh and silky lily. I choose the natural fresh fragrance as I thought it would have the same scent as other Dove products that I have come to love. However I was very disappointed to find that it smelt nothing like Dove, but had a mild chemical smell that I really didn't like! Dove claim, and I quote that this deodorant contains pro-epil complex to smooth underarm hair, making it feel softer and finer. The ¼ moisuring cream with sunflower seed will prevent dryness and irritation often caused by shaving. Dove promise that the unique formula used will make your underarm skin feel softer and plumper so hair will be less noticeable and hair removal will be more efficient. I have been using this deodorant for several weeks now and can honestly say I have noticed no difference in underarm hair growth! I tend to shave under my arms once a week and this has not changed since using Dove. Neither have I noticed any change in my underarm skin condition. It is true that this deodorant can be used after shaving with no discomfort and it does keep me smelling sweet all day with no nasty wet patches! I am not to keen on the scent as I said earlier but to be fair I have not tried the other fragrances on offer. I bought this deodorant when it was on offer and paid £2 for a 150ml tin. It is now selling at £2.59 in Tesco and £2.93 in Boots. I really don't think I can recommend this as it is expensive and doesn't deliver on its promise to minimise underarm hair.
I am going to describe to you all the experiment I conducted before writing this review as I wanted to know whether this product REALLY worked before I started recommending it to anyone else. To begin with I have said many times that when it comes to deodorant it has to be Dove for me. Not only does it work well but it is also ideal for using straight after shaving with no stinging. I do occasionally try others but I always come back to Dove. I always go for the roll on version, which is easy to use and it always dries almost instantly, which is a big plus for any roll on deodorant. Many times in the past I have used other roll on deodorants and have ended up walking round the bedroom flapping my arms up and down like some demented chicken trying to dry my deodorant before I could get dressed. So which one did I choose? Looking in the roll on section of the Dove range there is still a choice to be made - there's Dove Original, Dove Sensitive, Dove Pro Age and Dove Fresh Touch - and now there is Dove Hair Minimising which is supposed to minimise the regrowth of underarm hair. I wasn't convinced that this would work but I decided to try it anyway. I chose the Nature Fresh one and it currently costs £2.44 for a 50ml container in Boots. It is all plastic so it is recycleable, which is a good point as far as I am concerned. What did it look like? The container of the Dove roll on deodorants has undergone a bit of a revolution in recent times. They have ditched the odd curved shaped container and brought in a bullet shaped one which now stands the other way up with the roll on ball at the base of the container rather than at the top. It's about time as far as I am concerned! No more balancing the deodorant container upside down in the cupboard to try and get the last bit out - well done Dove! Every little helps in the current economic climate after all. This one is a pretty pale pink in colour with a screw cap remains and the label on the front tells us that it is 'anti perspirant and deodorant' and you will 'look and feel hair free for longer'. How do you use it? Having unscrewed the cap you find a fairly big ball, if you'll pardon the expression, which makes actually applying the deodorant to your underarms nice and easy. The deodorant always runs freely and I have never had any problem with it drying out, especially now the container has been improved. As with all Dove products this deodorant is one quarter moisturising cream and it smells lovely. It is a delicate flowery sort of smell similar to the fragrance of baby powder and it is really fresh and pleasant. The deodorising and antiperspirant effect lasts all day even in hot weather, and when I am out in the garden sawing and chopping wood for our log burner! The only minor problem that I found with the new design was that, after I had used the deodorant, and replaced the cap I usually found that there was a small amount of the deodorant around the seal where the cap met the main container. A quick wipe soon solved this small problem. Does it work or is it a gimmick? So does the hair minimising effect actually work? I wondered when I started to use it how I would tell if the hairs under my arms were any different from what they would have been under normal circumstances, so I decided to perform an experiment. I started by shaving under my arms with my trusty Ladyshave. I then used the Dove Hair Minimising Deodorant under my left arm and ordinary Dove roll on under my right arm. I stood them side by side in the bathroom cabinet with the new one on the left so I would remember which way round to use them. This morning, after using it for almost a fortnight, I showed my armpits to my husband (much to his surprise) and I asked him if he could see any difference between the two. I hadn't told him what I had been doing and so any comments would be without bias. To be fair I think he thought I was either a bit mad - oh no, he already knows that - or maybe he thought I had some kind of health worry so I just explained the experiment without telling him which way round I had used the deodorants. He looked and straightaway said the hair under my right arm was somewhat longer and denser. I have to say that I was amazed. I had looked in the mirror but I didn't have one big enough to see both armpits together and looking at them one at a time I couldn't tell if there was any difference. So I am pleased and surprised to say that this actually works and I have proved it with my own experiment which just goes to show the things I do for Dooyoo!! In conclusion II have to say that I am very impressed with this deodorant - it works well, it isn't expensive and it smells lovely; although I don't think that the small difference it makes to the hair growth is not worth making a special purchase so I shall just buy it if it is on offer. Since it is a roll on, it is in a small container making it ideal to take on holiday, and as it contains no propellant it can be taken on an aeroplane with no fear of explosions. The other advantage of using a roll on deodorant is that it is kind to the environment, as it does not contain any CFC gases. I will give this 4 stars as there is sometimes a bit of a mess round the lid after use, although I do think that the new design is a vast improvement on the old one. It does work well but as the difference bewteen this and the standard Dove deodorants isn't great as regards the hair minimising effect I think 4 stars is fair.
